Carolyn- I'm glad to hear your appt went well. What drugs will you be taking this time? Are they making any changes from last time?

Jackie- I'm so sorry to hear about your job. The last thing you need is more stress. I hope your insurance is through your husband's job.

Good news from the perinatologist! The babies share a placenta and chorionic sac but we have two amniotic sacs! I am so happy. No more worries about spending three months in the hospital or losing one or both of the babies.

We got to hear the heartbeats, which was really neat. My husband really liked that part. It was more real to him than seeing some grey blobs on the sono picture. One heartbeat was 168 and other was 176, so they are doing really well.

This doctor calculated my due date to about around June 19-20, which is closer to my original due date of 6/18. I hope my OB agrees and I can go back to being 8 weeks pregnant instead of 7! I went ahead and changed my ticker to reflect a due date of 6/20.

Hello Ladies

Just dropped in to see Laura's news.

Laura- I am thrilled that all is well. I am sure that your dh thought that it was really neat. How could he not!!!??? May be now you'll be able to relax and really enjoy being pregnant.

Jackie - I am so cross about your job. How can they do these things to us? I wonder if they did it to avoid maternity pay. They just cannot do that. I am sure that you don't want/need the stress but might be worth writing them a letter if you have a friend who is a lawyer. They should not be allowed to get away with it. However, at the end of the day, the main thing is that you focus on you & the little one.

Jackie - If AF arrives on time then I shall start next Thursday. A week tomorrow. They reckon around 12 days of jabs. So guess EC would be right at the very end of November. ET would be like 1st December. So test around 13th Dec. However, I shall just take 1 step at a time like last round.

Dr Vero - I think of you every day. We will get there hun

Em & Dania - Hope that all is well with the bumps. Em - Hope that you had a fab time at U2.

Laura - drugs will be different as short/antagonist protocol this time whereas before I was on Long Day 2. So no burselin down regging this time at all - had 30 of those injections last time. I use Puregon again for stimmies - same dosage 150ml - consultant thought that I might need more as 6 months older but less as no down regging this time. But on Day 5 will start the antagonist injections which I have not used before. Begin with an o........box is upstairs so will have to let you know another day!!! Final injection is the same. It's around 23 injections less so must be easier!

Have a nice evening ladies. Take good care all.

Wow, it looks like everyone has been too busy this week to post.

Carolyn- Just a few days until you start. I am so excited for you. Since we have two singleton pregnancies, one set of fraternal twins and one set of identical twins, I'm thinking you will be our first set of triplets!

Do you know when you will go in for your first follicle sono? Does your clinic do 3 or 5 day transfers? Since you ended up with enough to freeze last time, it seems like you would be an excellent candidate for a 5 day transfer.

It is amazing how many embryos look good at 3 days but don't make it to 5. I had 7 on day three and only 3 were still alive by day five. That way you only transfer the very strong embies. Of course, some clinics only do 3 day transfers, so it may not be an option.

DH is in Tucson visiting his parents, he left Thursday. He told his family about the pregnancy. They are excited, especially his sister who thinks identical twins are the "neatest thing ever". I'm hoping their PMA will wear off on him!

I'm starting to tell people about the pregnancy. It's hard not to at work because we are all OB nurses and can stop a pregnant lady at 20 feet! I walked into work the other night and said "It smells funny in here." The other nurse said, "You're pregnant!". I was so surprised, I just stared at her and said "Well, yes". I'd forgotten a very sensitive sense of smell was a sign of pregnancy.

I went ahead and told my manager, as I didn't want her to hear it from someone else. She was so, so happy for me. She said we would work around anytimes I needed to be off. It was so great to get that kind of support as twin pregnancies often require periods of bedrest.

I still check for bleeding every time I use the bathroom. I don't know when I will start feeling more confident, probably after they're born.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Girls,
I am so sorry its been a week from me! But so muchhas happened, and I am so bloody tired!

Firstly, U2 was fabuolus! Best concert ever. The venue wasn't able to cope with the 46000 people though and it took forever to get to our seats. The started 2 hours late as everyone wasn't in yet!

Then My best friend came to stay suddenly. Her sister is 26 weeks pregnant with twins after an IUI and her waters broke. She is in hospital until they are born which we all hope is not for at least a month. It bought us all down to the ground with a bang as we realised what can really go wrong with twins.

Then my parents decided to suprise visit us this weekend. So I haven't really had a chance to get online.

I am well. Very tired. Last night we went out for Indian and I woke up at midnight feeling dreadfull, nausea etc. I thought it might be food poisoning but when I got up this morning every one else is ok so I think it might have been "Morning" sickness! I hope it doesn't conitue at night as I need my sleep! I also will probably never be able to eat Indian again!

Carolyn - I hope that AF shows up super early and is gentle with you. Testing on the 13th will make the best christmas pressie ever!

Laura - I am so glad you have seen the two amniotic sacs! It will finally put your mind at ease. I am reading this great book on twins and its amazing. I can't wait to see my bubs.

Jackie - That really stinks about your job. I agree with Carolyn, you should check to make sure that your pregnancy has nothing to do with your termination. Its illegal in most countries to fire a woman for being pregnant.

Vero and Dania - I hope you are both well.

Lots of love Em

Hi Ladies

Hope that you are all doing well. Been busy trying not to think too much about tmt, getting new business off the ground and also trying to get stuff done ahead of tmt to take pressure off me. Em - glad that you could see the 2 heartbeats. So exciting.

So AF came yesterday, called clinic and I started this morning. It was a total breeze. Felt like an old hand!!! Prepared the stimmie pen last night & left in fridge. Set everything out in spare (injection) room so dh does not have to watch. I know that my tummy works best and which spots bruised least so I was well away. I must be less stressed than last time when I was in crazy stressful job, drinking and not having the first clue about what it would all be like. I feel so calm. Last time by now I had already had 18 down reg injections by this point & was running out of free spots. Hoping that I can stay calm. My acu man felt I was a little hyper on Tuesday and he stuck a needle in my head to calm me down. A bit weird but seems to have done something for me. Go again to see him on Tuesday. Will have 1st follies scan next Friday at 8am. Don't really feel excited or nervous, just a bit blase about it all - like here we go again.

Vero - big hugs. I think of you every days and how hard this journey is. PM me when ever you want to talk. I am here for you hun

Hope that the rest of you are all loving being pregnant. I am sure that you've all moved onto new threads now for waiting/scans. I have moved so I can be with those who are in cycle with me so if keeping the thread alive no longer works for you then I am cool.

Have great weekends ladies.
Lots of Love to you all.

Carolyn,

I'm so glad AF cooperated and you were able to start today. I know what you mean about being much calmer the second time around. I felt the same way.

I can't wait for your follie scan next week. If I remember correctly, you responded well the first time, so this time should be even better. In less than two weeks, you should be having your ER! Are you planning to do a 3 or 5 day transfer? I really think you would be a great candidate for a 5 day transfer, but I'm not sure if your clinic does them.

Em- Sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope you are doing well otherwise.

Jackie and Dr V- I hope you are both doing well.

Nothing too exciting here. I'm just really, really tired and having a hard time sleeping. Occasional bouts of nausea but nothing unbearable. I go back to my OB on Monday. I have appts every two weeks because I'm considered a high risk pregnancy. At least I will get lots of sono pictures this way!

Hello dear ladies,

just a quick Hello shout out to all of you. Nothing new for me, AF arrived 3 days ago, so its the old story.

Carolyn,
It's great that you are so calm about this cycle. I wish I could be going along with you! I am sure this one will be the one. That whole craziness, which was there for the first time around is over, you can concentrate on yourself, being calm and broody:-) I read your news over on the January thread everyday.
Thank you for being there!

Laura,
good to hear that there's nothing exciting from you. You've had enough excitement for a while!

Em, Jackie, Dania,
hope you ladies are happy and well.

Love, Vero

Vero

So sorry that AF arrived for you. Sending you big hugs.

Truely wish that you could cycle with me too hun.

So sweet that you pop into Dec-Jan to check up on me!

Bit tired and headachy today plus can feel my tummy starting to swell already & crampy on my right hand side. At least I know what to expect and that means that there is some action going on down there which is good - right. Trying to stay as calm as I possibly can.

Hope that you have been having a good weekend.
Lots of Love

PS - Hope that Dania, Laura, Em & Jackie plus their bumps are all doing well. Take good care ladies. Hugs xxxx

Veronika- It's so good to hear from you. I was worried about you. I'm so sorry AF came. It is so hard to go through that month after month. I'm sending positive thoughts and love your way.

Carolyn- I'm glad to hear that you are feeling something from the stims. That's a good sign that things are brewing in there. I can't wait for your scan later this week. I bet you'll have lots of follies!

Lots of tension at my house. DH is stressed about money, daycare costs, me being able to work after the babies come, etc. Unfortunately what should be a happy time is very stressful and tense. I'm hoping he comes around. Not sure if I should suggest we see a counselor or if that would make him more upset. I'll stop whining and wish everyone well.

Hi Laura

I am sorry that you are having a rough time with your dh. I am sure that he is just being practical and will come round to it all over time.

I would give it a little while longer as it is still quite early days. Then if he still feels the same then would make sense to seek some help before they arrive so you are both on the same page & both equally excited by the time they both arrive. Never does to let issues fester too long.

I am sure that it will all work out for you sweetie. Sending you hugs.

Lots of Love
Carolyn xxx

PS - 4 injections of stimmies done so far. Add the second antagonistic injection tomorrow so onto 2 jabs a day...............still quite calm and acu tomorrow which will help for sure.

hello laides
Its your fair weather friend.. Sorry I have been gone.. I was having a pitty moment with the work issue.. Thank you all for your kind words it is not something due to my pregnancy they are actually closing our whole office. I feel like its such a loss. Of course very selifishly I also am sad since my work insurance paid for infertility so now that they are closed if we want another baby we will need another little miracle baby like the one we have now.. On a really happy wonderful note Friday we went in and heard the babies heartbeat.. In less than a month we will know the sex.. I still feel great and I am still in my regular clothes. My belly has pushed out a little but just looks a little bloated..

Carolyn
I am so excited that you have gotten started.. I know you are on the thread with Aunty that is just great.. You sound like its going so very well. I am sure you are right and the acc appointment will even help with you staying calm.. You are moving along nicely and the 2 will be like habit in no time.. I am sorry I have missed so much but I promise to be back full time. Your cycle is going to go great honey.. Just remember PMA PMA...I also heard a hot water bottle helps the follies grow 20 mins a night..

Vero
I am so sorry AF arrived.. How are you feeling.. Please know that we all are thinking of you and this will work. Your time will come very soon.

Em
That is so great that you get to scan yourself. I am so jelous.. For me though its probably good I dont have a scan machine or I would have lost my job as that is all I would have been doing all day long.. I will be keeping your best friends sister and her babies in my prayers. How are you feeling.. Morning sickness bad? Hopefully it will pass soon.

Laura
You are not whining honey you are nervous.. Trust me I know what you mean we are so overwhelmed and happy that we want our DH's to be the same. I am with Carolyn he will come around but its very early days so he probably is just taking some time to adjust.. We are sending you huge hugs and please just take care of you and the babies for now..

Dania
Thinking of you honey and your bump..

love and hugs
Jackie

Jackie- I'm so sorry about your job, but I'm glad you are doing better. I was worried about you!

Carolyn- I hope you don't have too many bruises. I ended up black and blue this last time, but it was worth it.

Em- I hope you are feeling better. Being nauseous sucks!

Vero- It is so good to hear from you. I hope you and your DH can focus on having a wonderful holdiay season and then be ready to start treatment again in the new year with lots of PMA.

I had a dr's appt today. I got to see the babies again. They were waving their hands! I didn't know they could do that at 10 weeks. It was very cool. Their heartbeats were 182 and 168, which they said was very good. They are measuring 9 weeks 4 days, which is normal range for twins at 10 weeks.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi guys,

I am so relieved to hear from you all! I thought that our little thread had come to an end and I was sad. I only post on here and the Aussie thread.

Carolyn - Came to check how your follie scan was. I hope that you have loads of big juicy ones! Its good that you are feeling something....must mean its all working well for you. By the way.....are you watching the cricket? He he he!

Laura - That's really cool that you saw them waving! I keep getting stretchy feelings and like to think of my two elbowing for a little extra room....until someone pointed out that at 7 weeks, they don't have elbows!

Jackie - Thats terrible news about your job. But perhaps now that you have gotten pregnant naturally, your body will finally know what its supposed to do and you will have no trouble next time? That's what I'm hoping for us. Oh and am VERY jealous that you are not showing. I can't do up my pants! My ovaries are still huge and I'm blaming them.

Vero - I'm sorry that AF came. Are you going to try an IUI next? I am really praying for you and Carolyn and your DH's.

Well PMA by the bucket loads for Carolyn and Vero. Good, restful sleeps to Laura, Dania and Jackie!

Love Em
