Hi Debbie

I didn't know you were an LGI girl! So was I! Which consultant do you see?? Tommy Tang did my last EC/ET and yippee just found out I was pg with twins. Lets hope you have the same luck there too! Its a god awful place isn't it......!!

As for wife swap my dh is still seething because he worked out the £38k net (ie after tax) is equivalent to a salary of £62k!!!!!! Its not bloody fair, but at the same time, I wouldn't want to live in a tiny house with 8 children!!! Did you see the bedroom, it looked like a bloody orphanage!

I do hope whichever hospital they try to use refuse them for tmt. They should concentrate on looking after all the children they do have! Or if they are 'bored' why not go and get a job like the rest of us!!!!!!

Aaarrrggghhhhhh.....I can't believe people live like that and get away with it!!!

Good luck with your tmt - where are you up to?

love nikola.xxx

Yes ,I saw shrieking Lizzie and her brood! It made me mad enough that they would be able to go on having more kids and getting more benefits especially when I can't even have help with cost of drugs for IVF. I read in the paper that the husband is now being investigated for fraud as had received benefits whilst working as an odd job man. Maybe there is some justice after all.
Good Luck,
Lou

I think it's such a crazy system that allows it. I know they are talking about bringing in IVF for all now under 40 but by the time this comes in it will be too late for me (I'm 37). what makes me even more mad is that we started trying as soon as we got married, when I was 34 and my GP made me wait a year before sending us for tests which meant I was then over our area's 35 age threshold. My dh is 31 and even though it is a male factor problem they still test it on the woman's age!!! I feel like putting in a petition to Downing Street that the least they could do for those of us without any children who fall within the 35-40 gap or for those who are waiting more than 2 years for NHS treatment is pay for our drugs even if they don't pay for the treatment. What do you all think? it would be something. after all, they need to increase the population to pay the pensions in the future so they will recoup their money in the long run!! beckym xxx

Go for it Becky - I'd sign your petition!!

Have you asked your GP to pay for your drugs? I went to see my doctor and she agreed to pay our drugs - they had never paid IVF drugs for any of their patients before but agreed to make an exception for me. Sometimes if you go in person, they see the human side of this whole thing and it can sometimes work - I hope so!

Good luck with your tmt.

love nikola.x

MAD MAD and even more mad
is how that programme made me feel. The Govt don't want to pay for IVF but are quite happy for people like us to pay to bring up other peoples children!!! How did they dare go on tv and boast about it - they had no sense smoking their heads off (paid for by us) around all those young children. Sorry I could go on and on.

Beckym I totally agree with you - have you spoken to your GP? I asked mine and he said he would pay for the drugs for me. It may even be worth asking other GP's as they might look at it sympathetically and take you onto their books (worth a try)
I think treatment should be free all round even if there was just 2 attempts but open for all. (Except Lizzie with 8 kids of course!!)
We pay our taxes and may never use any other health care - if we are lucky. Why do others have to decide that I pay for smoking/alcohol new boobs etc over fertility treatment. Especially when certain people say it is a lifestyle problem not an illness. I started trying for a family when I was 25 years old and was young and healthy, now at 32 I have had different types of treatment and feel about 50 at times, also stressed to death.

Sorry could moan about this subject all day.
Lisa x

Can't agree with everyone more - it would be absolultly rediculous for mad Lizzie to get IVF - she should put any money's she's got saved up into trying to quit smoking - but then she'd lose the benefits she's receiving cos some of her kids have asthma - makes my blood boil just thinking of it!!!
Di

Glad you all felt the same about wife swap! Couldn't believe the amount they managed to sponge off the rest of us per year. DH & I were seething, in fact nearly had to switch it off, was sooo angry.

It's an awful thing to say, but those kids don't stand a chance with those 2 as parents, they will amount to nothing probably and will become spongers themselves!

Why oh why can a pair like them have 8 and we can't even have the 1!!

One consolation thought, she did look like the back end of a bus!!

What a *****, I am!!!!

Rach XX
