Was certainly said on April-May thread. Said to include selenium (not sure on spelling) in the core. Think that it is in almonds too. It was said to aid implantation. Needs to be fresh. Can be juice as long as 100% pure fruit juice.
Did not help me but did seem to help some ladies on our thread. I'll try anything so will probably try again this time.
The very best of luck for your tmt.
Sending hugs
Carolyn xxxx

CarolynB,i remember you from that thread, that was my 2nd fresh cycle, ive since had a -ive FET too,so im praying 4th time lucky for me,good luck on your next cycle,i hope you get what we all wish for..
Hi Nicola - I have completed one IVF cycle here in Singapore (I am from New Zealand but living here for a while) and thought I would let you know what we are told here for the 2WW. The Asian culture is very different in respect of foods to eat/not eat .
I was given a printed list on the day of my ET and it say's under "Dont's" - Don't eat pineapple, watermelon, Green Skin banana, papaya, coconut, cucumber and spicy food. Also, don't drink cold and gassy drinks, coffee and cocoa . And finally "Don't stress yourself - LOL !
I have also been having acupuncture and the TCM Dr is also very anti pineapple, melon and banana during the IVF process.
The theory behind it is that these foods are too cooling and you need to be warm to sustain a pregnancy.
A pregnant friend of mine here was also told by a chinese friend that the local woman tend not to eat pinepple during pregnancy as it can make you bleed easily (for what it's worth?!).
BTW - my RE told me that local woman like to drink coconut juice (from a fresh coconut, not tinned) once a week for the last three weeks of their pregnancy, as it is supposed to make the birth process easier. Here's hoping we can all use that info one day........
Another BTW - my RE also told me that fresh coconut juice (again not canned) is good for sperm production and it should be had daily by DH's. Interestingly my DH's sperm count went fron 1% to 8% at the time of egg collection so there could be something in it (altho he did cut down on cofee and beer too !)
Having said all that my embies didn't stick first time. I am having a FET next week and have started baby aspirin already (it is given here as std procedure).
I hope I haven't caused you a problem with such conflicting info. I have seen another thread re warming foods (ie cooking veg instead of having salad) and I think that this ties in with that.
Sending you lots of luck and PMA during your 2WW

Sorry Nicola! I didn't want to stress you out - you have enough to deal with on the 2WW as it is ( I have my fingers x'd 4 you). I just wanted to let you know that that's thinking over this way..... just in case........
Lets face it - most of us would probably dance naked under the full moon if we were told that it would help!
I suspect that you are right tho - whatever will be will be, pineapple or not!

Here's the link on bromelian - which is the enzyme in pineapple that either makes it work (or causes problems) - whichever you believe. This is from the physician desk reference web page (where MDs go to research drugs, herbs, supplements) so it's written in more of medical approach.
In a nutshell - it has anti-coagulative properties (thins your blood) and may reduce smooth muscle contractions (like the uterus)
"Bromelain's reported efficacy (in combination with papain) in easing dysmenorrhea symptoms has been attributed to a smooth-muscle-relaxant effect since it has been observed to decrease spasms of contracted cervixes in these patients. Some hypothesize that muscle-relaxing effects of bromelain on the uterus are due to modulation of various prostaglandins."
BUT....it also says it is NOT indicated in pregnancy and it also says:
"There are occasional reports of metrorrhagia and menorrhagia." (This is spotting between periods and heavily bleeding during periods.)
So, I guess using it during the 2 ww might have some benefits but might have some risks, so overall you might just want to review this with your RE first. Good luck and sorry if too technical!
