Could some of you please let me know if you did a 3 or 5 day transfer. I am little confused at how they have already decided they are doing a 5 day on me but they have already made the decision. You do risk the chance of lossing some embies going to day 5, don't you?

I did a 3 day transfer, I was going to do a 5, but because they were growing very fast and I had 7 they decided to go for a 3 to avoid losing some on the way.....hope it helps!!

SKIDDO-my clinic says they only advise 5 day transfers. i've already talked to my dr about this because this will be my only shot, if I don't get a lot of eggs (enough to freeeze) i've requested a 3 day. it really depends on a few things, your RE will do whats best, but I would certainly ask the question.

This has got to be the fastest moving board that I have ever seen! I haven't read what has been posted in the past few days, but would like to offer sympathy to those with BFN and congratulations to those with BFP! I hope all is well with each of you admirable women! :)

I'm eating yogurt up the yingyang and feeling all kinds of sensations in my abdomen. Of course, I am trying not to analyze every twinge, ache and pain. I am still pretty bloated and drinking tons of water. AF feels like it has been coming on and off for the past couple of days. I must admit going to work and now the holiday weekend has been a wonderful distraction. Sometimes I forget that I am in the 2ww. Monday is the big day. I am going to take a test on Sunday only because I will be getting the call at work and I would like to prepare myself for the answer. Whatever the answer is, I'm hoping that I don't fallout on the floor!

I wish each of you a relaxing and joyous Thanksgiving.
Eat tons of turkey and enjoy the company of your guests!

Skidoo and Noodle: I don't have any Thanksgiving plans as I knew transfer would be then and I have 3 days bedrest. My hubby will be cooking a turkey though. I'm still not sure how many embryos to transfer..I was thinking 4...It will depend on the quality which I will find out tommorrow before the transfer. My clinic said they are more aggressive if you are open to selective reduction. It's a hard decision..any thoughts anyone??

Cinders, it all depends on your age and quality of embryos, if you are very young then I don't think RE's like to put in more than 2........, of course you want to put more to have more chances, but if as I said before, if you are very young and they all take then you have to go for reduction, and it also has its risks, not to mention the risks of going forward with a quadruplets pregnancy, so, it is all a matter of age I guess........

Cinders101..
Wow what a decision you need to make. I agree with Vicky77..quality and age. I am not a big fan of reduction as what happens if you reduce the wrong one...The one that could have made it if god for bid the others did not..
My RE will only put 2 back in. He is not a big fan of the reduction in fact he will not do it for personal reasons so he has his partner do them.
I would do 3 if he would but he will not.
Best of Luck tomorrow for your ET. Will be thinking of you. Would love to add a few more BFP...Good Luck with your decision

Take care and good luck
:)

M'BA - I'm sooo happy for ya!!!! GO CELEBRATE! No drinking of course. :)

Well, my follies didn't grow so we had to resort to IUI today instead. RE said all things looked good (for the IUI). This is my 3rd IUI and this is the first time RE put me on prog tablets. I wonder why? So, I'm now in the 2ww.... If this doens't work, RE said he would up my menopur from 4 to 6 amps next time (January) to see if that got my follies to grow. I think my ovary went on vacation this month. :)

I can't believe how much this thread has grown since we first started. wow!

...about the number of embies to transfer, my clinic has a policy that if you are under 37 yrs of age, they will ONLY transfer 2 back in. If you are 37 or over, they will consider 3. Science is progressing so rapid that RE said he believed in a few years that there would be malpractice lawsuits from couples if they got pg with more than one. ?
