Had a setback today....Had to go for 2nd day bloods this morning and apparently my October bloods showed my Oestrogen levels are high, not drastically but 224 (?!). They said it could either be a cyst that would go of its own accord or my ovaries overcompensating because my eggs were reducing. I had an internal scan and everything appeared normal. 6 follicles on left and 3 on the right and no cyst. They took more bloods and said they would speak to the Dr and ring me back this afternoon and if levels were the same they would have to cancel treatment and I would have to test each month and wait until it righted itself. They never rang and I couldn't get thro... Gone from a huge high to a big low as don't know what is happening. Roll on tomorrow!! Hope I have a sober crimbo....x

Julie what a nightmare...i replied first to your post on the forum and then came here. I feel for you girl...It aint easy, and why oh why is oe
( oestrogen) up higher than normal. having quickly scanned through Zita West's book i see that just before Af start oe drops but it is at it's highest mid cycle. She goes on to say that higher oe levels can be combated by a good organic diet and reducing foods with too much refined carbohydrates. She also suggests a liver detox diet ( i've done this for 7 days twice and did feel the benefit). I do hope that someone on the boards can give you some advice or feedback regarding the same problem. And that the clinic gives you an okay all clear soon ... keep the Faith Honey we all get these setbacks... We will get there in the end. x x
Nicki...F*** B****r and all ^%/!?&*^ EXPLETIVES!!! I wa hoping and praying so much for you and Mark...hugs to ya Honey...it's such a let down and such a drain for you. Loss after loss does take it out of you...all of us on this pheonix page know how you feel and we are sending you big hugs girl...PLease please do not give up hope...IVF YES is more invasive than DIUI but hopefully you will suceed 1st time. It took me 5 years to get preg natuarally...then onto ivf...think about it Honey take your time...you do have good eggs and are ovulating...Thats half the battle...love to you and Mark x x
lisa- What a merry go round we have all chosen to go on, but you my friend have got the most amazing stamina to go through this every month...I am glad you are taking dec off as it is one of the most stressful months of the year...and you need a break to down a few glasses of wine ( or G&t's as the case may be!!!!) Good luck with this cycle of tmt, you are nearly at the end of your 2ww ***BABY DUST*** ...what's your test date as the list is on another page i can't check?
MLG- i am hoping you are resting up...we are thinking of you as your near your final weeks of pregnancy. I hope your boirthing plan goes without a hitch and you have a safe delivery for mum and babes... much love to you x x

Kate honey how are you this week????have you had a better stress free one!???? x x
Hi to anyone else reading this x x
Well i am back from 2 days of family in Glasgow...I said goodbye to my MOST supportive Gp ( we both had a tear in our eyes she really has been the best gp i have ever had most supportive through all the ectopics, ivf's and MS stuff) and my MS consultant ( not so much of a loss there . I picked up Adam's wedding ring, mine will take another week or so as some minor snagging details. adam and i managed some deep talks while i was away and we have sorted out lots of niggles lets hope it stays that way and Broc e was so pleased to see me...that unconditional love really does it for me ...Bless his ltttle paws
well enough of the good news...the bad is that i saw my now Private ( not NHS0 consultant yesterday. They are now using a finer way of measuring egg levels and have stopped using fsh as a guide and now using AMH( can't remember correctly yhethe lettere or what they satand for but all i know is that it gives the clinic a better understanfding of egg levels) Good is 5-8 but they can work with a level of 2...Unfortunatly mine was 0.2....He says he doen't know how i have in the past ivf stimming managed to get any eggs never mind grade A embies. So girls I ain't got a lot of eggs left but the ones makiing it through are top class...Quality not quantity counts they do say....BUT becsaue of low 0.2 AMH level we have been given a 3% chance of having a baby. Not very good news. So after talking through options we have
1. to try another cycle of ivf but maybe get no eggs ( at £3500) 3% chance of live birth.
2. to go abroad for a donor egg cycle of ivf ( at £3500) 63% chance of live birth
3. Try to adopt
OR
4. call it a day and be childless.
We have ruled out option 3 and 4...and now are discussing 1 and 2.
very had to say but i feel the donor egg is a better option for me. As health wise as i don't need to go through stimming ( it knackers me more with having MS) and we just go to ET like a FET.
Any feedback or options would gladly be accepted from you guys ...as well as known clinics of donor IVF...
All, I can say is that there is still Hope for me and Adam and I know if it's meant to be it will happen. Just gotta have a little patience ( as Take that would sing) and Faith. In fact the Take That song ( have a little patience is my new Anthem...should it be a Pheonix One????
Love to ya all

I guess I am back in limbo, as I lost my baby at 12 weeks and had my D&C yesterday. I am ready to start another cycle, although I have no ideas about when, because I really dont know when I will have my periods. Anyway, it will not be before end of Jan, as I my body needs time to recover from the miscarriage. I thought getting BFN was horrible, well miscarrying can not be describe then. It is so cruel, as you are given something you want for such a long time, and then it is taken back...
We have 4 DH's straws left, so I hope this will be enough to finally have our family... But DH is 53 and I feel that time is running out.
Sorry for the not so happy post, I will be better soon. Time heals wounds right?? I am a phoenix and will make it through the hard time.

JEN - What I intend to do is cut out any drink mid week from now on, and if do drink at weekend limit it to a couple of wines. I currently drink vodka but have decided to kick spirits on the head. As for xmas parties/new year etc I am either going to drive and not drink or drink a limit of 2/3 wines. I have two small parties where I don't want people to know and they will suspect if I don't drink. Is this ok?? Feel free to be honest and tell me I shouldn't be drinking at all during injections. (I have no idea!!!)
SOURIS - Really sorry to hear your loss. Love and hugs to you and DH. You know where we are x
How are all other Phoenixes? Hope you are all ok. LIS - Thinking of you on your 2 ww....not long now! Can't wait to hear. x

Julie, Ive always never had a drink during a tmt cycle, but this last one I decided, sod it, plently of girls get pregnant, when they have been out drinking so what should it matter, so was drinking!!!Still didn't get BFP so doesn't make any different, however you ivf girls, I would worry about the effect on the all the drugs etc you are taking, so check it with your Dr to see whats right, but honest;y 1 glass of wine or what ever surely wouldn't hurt!!
I am new to this ivf stuff, so 11 days til you start down regging, correct me if i am wrong but this is where drugs shut down your natural hormones for a month then you have your period and then ivf cycle starts?? what drugs do you take and how do they work??
Not everyone does a down reg in ivf do they??
Souris, honey, I was shocked to the core when i heard about your little angel, this world is so so cruel. Huge hugs to you. dont ruch back into a cyc;e make sure you are emotionally strong enough first. will they investigate to why a M/c happened? You have 4 strw's so that good, whats wrong with dh, did have the pese? time heals, its true, and if you need a chat you know what i am x x
Jen, honey. great news about the egg donor, where will you go? do u have to go abroad? Can it not be done in UK?
I have some news that will make u smile!
If we can do IVF, I plan to donate some of my eggs, obviously this all depends on our consulation on tues......I'll let you know x x
Buserlin?? Julie what does that do?? what do u mean, they keep you on it over xmas??
Lisa, i know the 2ww is up today, I am thinking of ya x x Lucy and Kate, how are you guys????

Have just popped in to say Hi to Jen. I read that you are considering egg donor tmt, maybe abroad. I had egg donor tmt in Barcelona. 2nd time was lucky!
If you would like any help or advise or support etc...please let me know. Would be happy to help if I can!
Good luck

PS There are a few other ladies on the over 40 thread who have undergone egg donor tmt .......I'm sure they wouldn't mind sharing experiences too

Just a quicky Pheonixes as my parents are due up here for the first time...any minite now. And i still have to hoover and clean the bathroom!!!!!
souris...oh Honey i am so heartbroken for you. Usually when you reach the 12wk stage stress and worry start s to lesson. It's so sad for you and yours. after all the to-ing and fro-ing to uk and back to france...Big hugs honey...allow the tears to flow and hope that Jan cycle brings all that you wish for.
Nicki- good for you honey...hope this ivf is the one for you. yep yuo do have it right a normal ivf cycle takes 6 wks and a short ( cetrotide one ) takes 4 wks. Glad to hear your gonna donate eggs. the waiting list in the UK is 2 yeras and then it's youngest first so i would never get any. I am planning to go abroad and o it ...like anna said there are lots of ladies on the over 40 thread that have gone to barcelona and prague ( big J)...so will jsut w8 and see. burselin in the down regging drug so they are keeping jules in egg suspension until after the new year when they will stimm her follies to produce eggs.
Anna i will post on the over 40's thread when i have a mo. I know you lot will all help me out.
Julie- I always thought i should stay off the drink during preg and ivf but last cycle that changed I feel that an odd glass of wine or 2 wont do you any harm. If you had had embryo transplant then i would say NO tho! Enjoy the festive season
Hi to everyone else...as i said i must dash...speak soon in a couple of days when my parents and their 4 yr old black ladrador have gone home! Broc is in for a big BIG shock when he sees the other dog who's gonna be staying

thank you for your kind words. I am having a good day today (well as good as it can be considering the circumstances...) but DH is going on business trip tonight for 3 days I wish he stayed with me...
We have decided that even if it is ok for me to cycle in Jan (it all depends when I will get my periods) that we will most probably wait an other month and go on our dream vacation in January instead!!
We have been together nealry 5 years now, an every single time we tried to plan holidays something went wrong! So we are really hoping that it is going to happen in Jan. We would like to go Mauritius or Maldives!
We both need a break, I will be all ready to start a new cycle!
Nicki, I am sure IVF will work out for you and If you have any questions (I am starting to know quite a bit about the whole thing!!) please ask!
Jen, I did not know you were getting married soon!! COngratulations! you must be soooooo excited! Wishing you the best!
