Happy semi-belated Thanksgiving!

Af arrived yesterday and I am due to have a baseline in the morning. Hopefully I get to start stims tomorrow too.

wannababy, I'm not thrilled that my neighbors know the details. I don't like talking about the process much with anyone that has not gone through the same ordeal. Even my MIL, as supportive and caring as she is, she still managed to tell me the story of how her cousin was ready to have kids, but never got PG, but she and FIL were not ready but seemed to get PG just farting. Like somehow she could relate. Anyway, my neghbors are very nice people and actually pretty supportive. She gave me a beautiful gift basket of goodies and a sokudo book when I was on bed rest. They haven't tried to pry any info from me and I'm sure it's all DH openly talking about it. I'm sure samandaw is right about DH talking to people as away to deal with things. It is good to talk when things are mentally tough. It's just awkward for me because I'm the one that is IF not him.

Sorry I have not been around. Mom's here. So far it's a nice visit. We did not have a turkey dinner because she is a vegan. She's recently got into 'raw' foods and that's what we've been eating. It's not really bad, it feels good for you, but I really would like a little meat pretty soon.

We told her that we got another BFN and will be starting stims again right away. She's really not too thrilled about it. Just as I thought. Not that she's against my desire to have a baby and she does wish the best for me. She just is against IVF because of her ethical beliefs and because of the intense health risks to my body. She is budhist and a homeopathic practitioner, just to give you an idea of where she is coming from. She can't understand why we are so determined to do all this now. She says get healthier first and try later, etc, etc. I understand what she's saying and a agree to some point. But, I say; "We have the oppourtunity and ability now (and at a discount). There are so many IF couples that will never have the ability to do IVF. If I wait, who knows what will happen. That could be us next year. Besides my eggs aren't getting any younger and neither am I. Everything is good now and I'm ready. She sees that I've gained weight because of Ivf and the process has caused a lot of stress. She can't understand why I would do that to myself. I just told her I want to be a mom and those are just some of the sacrifices I am willing to make. Of course I could lose some weight and get healthier, I'm going to work on that for sure. I think she is most concerned with my physical and mental health after IVF and would rather not see me go through it, especially if I never have a baby from it. She asks "what will you do if it doesn't work?". All I can say is "I'm not thinking about that right now. I want to stay 100% positive". I believe if I'm negative or doubt what I'm doing, it definately will not work.

Good luck to you!!! I just got a BFN on Wednesday. It was our first attempt. Of course the doc said that it was, "TEXT BOOK" quality. So, when I got the BFN I was so disappointed. How long before we are able to try again? I'm with you I'm not getting any younger and we mias well get started asap.
You will be in my prayers!

Sam & Lola - Thanks so much, you're absolutely right, quality over quantity (except in your case, Lola - you must have gotten both -woo hoo!) Sometimes, when you're in the 'thick' of this process, it's hard to keep it all in perspective.

Sam - I had forgotten you only put back 2 so thanks for the reminder. I'll pray my outcome is as great as yours!

Lola - All your symptoms sound textbook for a very strong, healthy pregnancy, especially the sleepiness. No morning sickness yet? Are you still on the EFAs (flax seed)? I'm a bit worried about starting back in on the flax seed oil pills, which is what I had been taking. I read on my pdrhealth.net site that there's a theoretical risk fso can cause uterine contractions, which is probably not good right now. However, it didn't say that on just flax seed by itself. Did you take the oil capsules or just the flax seed? It seems to have helped you that's for sure, because I recall you saying your started back on it right after ET.

Mia - Welcome to AF and good luck with the baseline tomorrow! I think it's great that you get to stim again. I think the issue of telling people or not telling people is such a personal and hard choice. I can totally empathize with your discomfort at having the neighbors so informed. Unless you've been through IVF, you have no idea what it's really like - you can try and understand, but the emotional up's and down's we go through are such a torture, I really don't believe anyone who hasn't done it can truly understand. I'm sorry you didn't get as much support from your Mom as you wanted - in a strange way, it may be her own way of expressing her caring for you. She sees you down from the last attempt and is probably just so worried for you and just wants you to be well. You're her daughter and she cares so much for you. Since you're probably still eating well and avoiding all the 'no-no's' from your last cycle, your body may be in a perfect place to start again. And, I agree with you that the discount is a hard thing to turn down, so if it's time-limited I completely understand your decision. Just focus on eating as healthy as possible and trying whatever you can to reduce your stress as you start into this cycle. Above all, you know we're all here rooting you on toward success! Please take care of yourself.

Golfrswife - so sorry about your bfn. Talk to your RE about when to start again, I have seen so many different scenario's depending on the clinic's process. I wish you the best of luck in your next attempt!

Wannababy - sending you every bit of sticky baby dust for your hpt on Sunday and Beta's on Monday!!!!

Well, I'm back to lying here watching TV and going a bit stir crazy (I can't yet - it's only the start of day 2....I've got to get to Sunday, eek!)

Take care everyone, xxoxoxoxoxo

I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving.

Suzhan--That's awesome news! Welcome to the 2ww! Rest up!

Hopeful-People everywhere will have their own opinions about what we are doing. As long as you are comfortable and confident with your decision, then others should be too. I think your mom is just being a concerned mom. One day we will all be as concerned with our own children.

Golfswife-I'm so sorry about your BFN. How are you coping?

Sam--so you think a girl. What feelings are you getting to make you think that? Have you dreamed about your baby?

I'm getting doubtful about my results. Lately, I have been thinking that it will be negative. My boobs are a lot less sore, AF feels like it is about to start, bloating is practically gone. I had slight cramping for the first time last night on the way home from Thanksgiving dinner. I don't know. Maybe I'm just getting nervous. :? I took my trigger shot on 11/11 pm. Do you think that it is out of my system now?

Wannababy1229- At first I was a mess! I didn't want to talk to anyone. I didn't want to go to Thanksgiving dinner cuz I didn't want to hear about it. Luckily, I have a DH who is exremely awesome. He was at work on Wedensday when I got the dreaded phone call, told his boss I have to go be with my wife and left. It meant a lot to me. Having him by my side is the best cure! So, now I am just waiting for AF to start to be able to try again. I am sending you loads of baby dust and I will pray that you get a BFP!

Suzhan - I will also be sending you lots of well wishes. It's nice to be able to write to people that actually know how you feel cuz you've been thru it. I am sending you also ton of baby dust and will pray for a big BFP!

I am looking forward to getting started again as soon as the doc gives us the green light! Thank you for all of your kind words! It DOES help!

Hello everyone!

Emily ---- welcome to our thread! I am sorry about your BFN. My husband is the same way - when my cycle was cancelled in August, he was with me the whole day. I was just happy to have him and did not think of anything else anymore. You are 32, just like me! My doctor thinks it is still a pretty young age, so don't worry about anything. It will happen for you!

Suzhan ---- I am so glad your transfer went well. Just take a good care of yourself now and sleep a lot. I was sleeping all time. I don't have any nausea (yet..). Just the tiredness and sore boobies. As far as flaxseed, I was eating it with my cereal. It is like a brown powder that you add to your cereal. I buy it at Trader Joes. But I don't eat it everyday now. Sometimes I have a toast or a waffle for breakfast, and I only eat it with my cereal.

Mia --- I think the same, your mom is just worried about yourself. My mom was worried too. First she wanted to know all the risks that are involved with this. Maybe you should not talk to her about it too much, once you have a baby, everybody will be happy!

Wannababy --- don't worry about the symptoms, everybody is different. Some women don't even know they are pregnant at this point. So please, just try to relax and think positive. It will happen for you!

We had a nice dinner yesterday with our friends. We still have a couple here that stayed over night. They are all still sleeping. Have a nice weekend girls! Love Lola

Lola - great update on the list and thanks for the info on the flaxseed. I have that too and also add it to my cereal (sorry if tmi, but I find it helps when starting the pio...if you know what I mean). I think I'll keep it up for a bit. Good for you in avoiding the morning sickness thus far - I hope it stays that way for you.

Wannababy - Keeping everything crossed for you for your hpt tomorrow and beta on Monday! Image

Emily - I know what you mean about waiting for the 'green light' from the RE to start again. Sometimes it seems like forever, but before you know it, you'll be right back in the midst of your next cycle, so enjoy the break time while you can.

Mia - hope you're well and I bet you're excited to get started. Do you get to start stim's on Monday? Hope so!

I'm getting a bit restless (well, honestly, very restless) since this is day 3. I get to get up a bit more at the end of the day, but no shower 'till tomorrow. Boy, will that be nice. I go back to work on Monday...it's so wierd since I've been off work now for over a week. Well, off to watch more TV....have a great weekend everyone!

Suzhan, Good luck with the 2ww!
I start stims today actually! A day late too. I missed my IVF co-ordinator's call on wednesday so we were not able to arrange meds delivery and my baseline. I had to wait til friday to talk to someone and arrange everything for today. It was a mess, but here I am.

Wannababy are you doing an HPT? I hope you get that lovely second line! Good luck!

Welcome Emily!! And thanks for your prayers. I sure need them.

Suzhan --- That bedrest must be driving you crazy, ha? I was happy I had to sleep so much, I would not be able to rest otherwise. Just one more week and you are testing! :o

Wannababy --- Good luck with your HPT tomorrow and Beta test on Monday. I cannot wait to add another great BFP to our update!

Mia --- Congrats on starting stims again, you are such a trooper. 8) Are you doing the same protocol?

Emily --- have fun golfing with all the guys, I would love that too!

We are off to see a movie tonight with our friends. Either James Bond or Borat. I want to see James Bond, I think Borat may be kind of stupid from what I saw on previews.
I cannot wait until my first ultrasound on Tuesday. I am excited, but I am also kinda concerned. I just hope everything will be OK. I was reading that the beanie should be around 5mm long already and it looks like a little shrimp.

HOpe you all are having a great weekend!

Lola, My protocol is slightly different. I'm doing a higher dose of Menopur. Instead of doing follistim in the AM and menopur in the PM, I'm doing both in the PM at the same time. I won't be doing a fresh transfer. All embies will be frozen and I'll do a FET in a month, maybe 2 or 3 months, depends on when I feel right. I know I'll gain weight again and I still have 8 extra lbs from last stim cycle. So I might try to get rid of all that before doing another transfer.

I think Borat looks stupid too. But it has had really good reviews. The few times I saw the tv show, he was so ridiculous you just have to laugh at him. DH really wants to see it. Maybe we'll see it on his day off.

Good luck starting your shots today, Mia! That's so exciting! By the way, I had both of my shots at the pm too (you might recall my RE had me combine them into one bum shot) Image Strange as it is, I always felt better about doing them together as opposed to when I did the follitism in the am and repronex (basically same thing as menopur) in the pm. Hopefullly, this will be the magic formula for success for you! Enjoy the acupuncture too! Image

Lola - Hope the movies were fun! What did you end up seeing? I really liked Bond, although it seemed kind of long. I'm so excited for you to have your scan on Tuesday - gosh, it seems like just yesterday you got your bfp - times have flown by! Are you about 6.5 weeks now?

I'm officially able to get up and around today, but of course am a bit nerve-wracked about it. I absolutely know in my head that they can't 'fall out' but part of me just doesn't want to take any chances. I woke up in the middle of the night with some pretty serious cramps/pains and felt indigestion/nausea quite badly (sorry if tmi). I couldn't even go back to sleep. DH asked if I wanted a tylenol, but I'm also scared to take anything. It seems to all be gone now. Isn't it crazy how the 2ww makes you analyze every kink, pain & cramp - is it a good sign or a bad sign, what does it mean, etc, etc....Image You'd think by now I'd be an 'old pro' but guess not! Image

Wannababy - you know I'm rooting for you (and praying too!) Image

Take care everyone,

BFP! BFP! BFP! I'm still in disbelief!

I got the call this morning and the nurse said I had a strong positive! My level for 11 dp3dt is 273. Could that be twins?

I actually did a HPT yesterday and it came back positive very quickly. I didn't want to post yesterday because I didn't want to jinx myself!

Wow! I'm going to be a mommy!
