Aimee, cowgirl, Nance, Tasha, thank you so much for your prayers.

Only 3 left!! .. one of the beanie didn't make it as the doctor predicted. The sac is still shrinking, can still see a black spot on the scan, but nothing is inside. :?

The other 3 seems to be doing OK. :D All of them with HB and the size are fine too. It's a relief to see the 3 of them. But I still in worry because the spotting hasn't stop yet. It's getting darker and more. If it continue for another hour or 2, I will call my doctor to see what is going on in there.

Hello Everyone!

Ophee - I am sorry to hear about you little one, but just think how much more room you will have for the other three! I hope your bleeding has stopped.

Sorry I have been away for a while. Between school and work and the holiday, I have been swamped. I only have one more week of school left before I will get a short break, so I should have more time to talk then. As far as I go, I am doing great. Still really tired, but I am not as nauseous. We have a scan on Friday to check on the little one, but as the 10 week mark approaches, I am growing more and more confiedent. All of my previous m/c's were before ten weeks and all of them had bleeding long before I lost them. So far, my RE has not seen any sign of blood clots forming and we are excited about a possible uneventful pregnancy!

Hope all are doing well!

cmoscar, I am glad you are feeling more confident. I think I will be able to relax after my appt on Wednesday. :-) Everything is going well so I feel pretty confident now, but I still have a piece of me that is worried. I just want to hear that HB again :-) even though it sounded great just a week ago. That 12 week mark just seems to be magical :-)

Ophee, how are you doing? When is your next check up?

Take care all,
Cowgirl

Had my blood drawn yesterday for another HCG test in anticipation of this morning's "because the patient demanded it" sonogram. It had dropped from over 41,000 last week to a little over 24,000 this week, and the doc didn't think I really needed to come in. But I did anyway, and we took a peek.

The embryo is nothing more than a fetal pole now (interesting the way they sort of grow backwards, as opposed to simply dissolving or something, there's something sort of full of grace about that). Everything else looks healthy and normal for this point in a missed miscarriage.

Since it's been nearly 3 weeks since the heart stopped beating and I have yet to shed a single drop of blood, we're going ahead with a D&C next Monday.

For those of you concerned about scarring from a D&C... I've had 6 of them (7 if you count next week). 5 were years and years ago, back in the days when all you got was a hand to hold and a shot of novacaine. I did end up with some scarring from some point in time, but the doctor was able to remove it and return my lining to something good. I'm not concerned about scarring this time around; I know I'm in good hands.

Doctor said we can try again after one normal period, and my husband wants to go ahead. So I'll be back soon.

Thank you all for your support here - you've been a lifeline in a sea of very turbulent emotions and fears this past week!

Ophee- sorry to hear about your 1 little embie. However, it's probably a blessing in disguise. Now your other 3 embies can all fit in your tummy....

Racheal- glad to hear your doing well. It always makes me happy when I hear good things on these boards.

Rachel- I'm so sorry about your little embie... however, now you have some sort of peace of mind. Please always remember your in our thoughts and prayers. Good luck sweetie...

As for me I'm doing great. I've hit the 12 week mark and things have changed dramatically for me. I no longer have any nauseousness and I feel like I've gained so much energy. It's amazing.... I have my 12 week exam tomorrow night (I have no clue what my doctor will be doing, but hopefully I'll get to have another ultrasound).

Hope all of you girls are doing well...

Tasha

Ladies, thank you so much for your regards and prayers.

I am feeling really really bad today ... I had my last appointment with my RE yesterday. Since all the 3 beanies were well, he wanted me to go ahead with the reduction to twins ASAP. He told me that he had seen too many failure case of more than 2 (even though they were not his patients), he didn't want me to wait any longer. The longer I waited, the riskier the remaining will be. So, he called up his buddy doctor who is expert in this, and they had booked me in early this morning.

I went in early this morning ... this buddy doc did the scan and told me that all 3 are very healthy. We can see their little arms and legs ... and they were moving ... so amazing. He did the measurement, and all of them measured at 9w4d (which is 4d bigger than the estimated age) ... and all with good heartbeat at over 160bpm. The doctor then explained the risk of keeping all 3 and it's best for the health of the babies and the mother to reduce to 2. Both DH and I didn't know what to say but we really want to make sure all the babies will be borned as healthy as possible.

He then selected a beanie for the operation. It only took him a few minutes and the beanie is not moving any more. Both DH and I were so upset ... but we know this is the best for the other babies. I don't know if I have done the right thing ... but I really feel very bad about this, and I can't stop crying over this. Everytime I close my eyes, I can't stop my tear from flowing out. I actually let this doc took my beanie away ... What have I done ... :( I really do not know if we have done the right thing ...

I was sent home after around an hour of rest ... but not long after I reached home, I started spotting ... then more brown discharge with tissue ... after sometimes, fluid flowing out. I was so scared, as the doctor who did this told me I should be expecting just a little spotting or no spotting at all. I called my RE immediately and he sent me in to his clinic again. When we saw the doctor, he looked so worried and it's not a good sign if there is fluid flowing out ... that would be the fluid from the sac. He did a scan immediately ... both the 2 remaining beanies looked fine ... with heart beat and were swimming around. It was a relief to everyone ... he sent me home and requested me to stay in bed for the next 1 week and he will see me again in 1 week time.

I understand why my RE wanted me to do this now ... he knew well that I might change my mind if I see the beanie in a bigger size. And it's less risk the earlier we do it.

Even though it's over, but I am not sure if I can get over this ... all I can hope for is the 2 remaining beanies stay strong and healthy.

Ophee, I am so sorry, I must have been horrible seeing that. I never posted here, but I have been following your posts. I am from the Nov 06 girls thread. But when I saw your post today I could not keep myself from writing to you. I know it must have been very hard doing what you just did, but also look at is as if you just saved the other 2 beanies lives, they might have not made it if you didn't do this. My cousin had to have reduction too, she had triplets like you and had a reduction to twins, it was very very hard for her, but now she has the 2 most beautiful twins I have ever seen, they are almost 2 years old now.
I know there is not much right now that I can say that might make you feel better, but please don't feel guilty at all, as I said, you did it to save the other two babie's lives........
Hope you start feeling better over the course of this week....
Sending you lots of hugs....

I also am not part of this thread, but do 'keep quiet tabs' on all you lucky bfp ladies and just had to post.

Ophee - My heart goes out to you, sweetie, what a tough decision, one that we all wonder if we will face in this IVF journey, since we all know it could be possible when we transfer more than 2. But, as your RE said, you've done an incredibly brave thing to save the lives of your other two. My cousin had a reduction after an IUI and it was very hard, but even with twins, she delivered early and the babies were in NICU. She is a small person and her OB said that if she'd stayed with triplets, probably none would have made it since she had trouble just keeping twins. I have another friend who got pregnant naturally with triplets and was never even offered the option. She delivered 3 months early and, again, almost lost all three. Luckily, they all survived, but only after months in the hospital and at almost 2 years old, they are still very far behind (just now starting to walk/talk, still going to therapy 2-3x/week, etc.) I don't tell you this to scare you, but to reinforce that while what you did must have been so incredibly difficult, it was a first brave step in motherhood to protect your other two children.

I wish you the best in your pregnancy.

Ophee- I'm so sorry that you had to be faced with this very tough decision... however you have to remain positive and think about your other 2 strong little beanies in there. I know that thought hasn't really crossed your mind yet, but it will in time. You probably just saved their lives by making this tough decision. Please take it easy and rest... and also keep us posted on everything. Your in our thoughts anbd prayers through this difficult time.
