I just had my transfer on 11/23 and I had 2 ok looking eggs transfered. This is my first IVF. I am doing this because I have a disease that I don't want being passed on to my child. So I can choose the best embryos to be placed back into me. without the disease.
Anyway, everything was going great, but today, my dr. told me to start taking an Estrogen patch. Is this normal? Has anyone been been told to take this several days after transfer, and gotten pregnant? I thought this was a bad sign, but my dr. said that it wasn't. I am not sure what my numbers were, but I guess my Estrogen was low.
This 2ww period is very hard. Has anyone taken an at home pregnancy test before their blood test? Someone told me that my hormones are all screwed up and it won't give me an accurate read. Is this true? Has anyone else used these test?
One last thing. What are your symptoms after transfer. I am so bloated, but that is about it. Are there any other signs?
Thanks so much for your help. I love this site. Good luck everyone. I never knew what an emotional roller coaster this would be.
Rochelle: Congrats on your transfer! I also started estrogen patches a few days after my ET. I think it is very common at my clinic, so I don't think you have anything to be concerned about re: the patches.
i agree the 2ww is killer!! Not only is it uncomfortable, but waiting around is torture! It is very common to be bloated, gassy and have painful boobs after transfer, some people say it is due to the progesterone.
Have you considered joining one of the threads? I am on a Nov '06 thread off of the "general forum". there are several women currently on the 2ww there and it is a fun, supportive group. Would love to have you join us there. Your question re: HPT during 2ww is a topic of much conversation on that thread and you would get lots of feedback. Either way...good luck!!!

Thanks so much for your advise. I am really new to this message board, so how do I join the Nov. '06 thread. Sounds interesting. I guess we are all in the same boat. It is good to talk to people who are actually going through the same thing.
