February Has My Heart - February Cycle Buddies Wanted

Post by Charity »

Just thought I'd start a new thread for the upcoming February cyclers...I hope I'll not be alone..? I'll be starting my second round at the tail end of January, but EC/ET will be in February. Probably very close to Valentine's Day! Here's to new beginnings and to our BFP's with our Valentine's Day cycles. Take care ladies, and would love some company while we're waiting for the real action to begin. Later Gators!

Tammy...I'm so glad to see you're still here...I hadn't heard from you, and was getting a little worried. I knew you had a lot on your plate, so thought I would just let the whole ordeal soak in, for lack or better words. I hope you get the answers you and I both want and need. I know it wasn't easy to take this "leap of faith" again, and I do have my reservations, but just have to give it one more shot before we close that chapter in our lives. Please keep me posted on what you find out. Not only insight to my own situation, but also so I know you're okay. I worry about you...

Jessica...You silly stalker you...I am so happy to hear from you too! You're always welcome to stalk me. That sounded a little weird, but you know what I mean. I see your ticker has changed quite a bit!! Does that mean you've got some real news on a baby? Do you get to choose the gender or doesn't it matter to you and dh..? I might be adopting soon...No not a baby, but maybe maybe maybe a furry baby...I've almost got my husband worn down to saying, well not exactly YES, but his version of yes, which is typically, "fine...whatever you want to do". He's such a sport! He's not sold on the idea of a puppy right now, but to me it's something to love, and I could use a little of that right now. Not that dh isn't lovable, but people look at us funny when I pet him and he licks my face.

Well, I better get my hind-end (and it's a whopper) back to work before I get caught having too much fun...

You take care my lovely ladies, and I want to hear from you both on your going ons...Who knows...Before long, you two might be joining me..?? Tammy for a fresh new start, and Jess with an FET...A girl can hope, can't she?! Would love to you have two around for support and to give me a reality check every now and again...Also would love to see your BFP's!! Something to think about...Tempting, I know... Later Gators!

Hey! Glad you found me...Love your attitude, too, Jen!! You better pop in more than occasionally. We all need that kind of PMA...

Jess...I almost forgot...I just got a Jeep Commander too!! Silver, with the DVD and GPS/Navigation system. There are so many bells and whistles on the darn thing that I can't figure it out. My dh found the playboy channel on the sirius radio straight away, too...(Channel 198 if you're interested!!) I used my auto-windshield wipers for the first time this morning. That was a hoot trying to figure that one out. Let me know what you think of yours...My dh is already on a forum for Commanders, and they have really good track records, and very few accidents. Has to do with the special "Mercedes Technology" traction control they built into this one. Tell me all about yours...Three rows! Heck, we're going to have to get cracking if we're planning on filling all those seats though...Take care my friend.

Oh my Charity!!! That is so funny!! You know what they say GREAT MINDS think alike!! LOL!!!

Mine is Red, of course! I don't have the GPS or satelite radio thank goodness! I love it so far!! I had a little 3 series BMW before that I loved, loved and still do, I am short and it fit me perfectly but it was going on 6 yrs old  So it was time to let my baby go... I am starting to love my Jeep though today hubby took it to get the oil changed and tires rotated for me and I drove his truck and it sucked, I wanted my Jeep!!

I didn't know about the Mercedes Technology!! I will have to tell my hubby!! I do love it, its not too big or too small... Hubby always wanted a Tahoe and I didn't want to drive it, too big! My nephews love the stadium seating and the 3rd row! Its great!! Ok enough already!

Wonder if I can get a 2 for 1 deal when we adopt?? LOL!! And you know I do have 8 frosties!! The commander might not be big enough!!

Hey Charity,

I am hopping to be a feb buddy! All depends on my Af dates (which are messed up because of IVF and most probably because of D&C now...)
I could be a Jan buddy, but I am trying to organise some dream holidays to maldives! I need a honeymoon (we never had one) before we get pregnant again and wont have as much free time !!!(I decided to be very optimistic)

So a little backround: will be my 4th round, a BFP with number 3 but M/c at 12 weeks. And a D&C 6 days ago...

And talking about cars, yesterday was a big day for me, as it was (OK, ladies dont laugh) the first time I drove a 4x4 and automatic!! I know it is no big deal in the states as most cars are automatics, but in France I always had small manual cars...!!
That was a lot of fun and I think I could get used to it!

That's all for now. hoping to have a lots of Feb buddies

Souris...Maldives!! I'm not sure why, but I never heard of it until I plugged it into Google Images...Oh my Gosh! It's beautiful! I always dreamed of Turtle Island in Fiji, but I think I've just changed my mind! To actually go to that dream location would be...well, for lack of better words, a DREAM! It will be such a good thing for you two if you can have a belated Honeymoon and time to get back to you and your marriage. This whole IVF consumes so much of our time, energy, and emotions that to get a break is not just wanted but NEEDED...

I am so sorry for you on your loss sweetie...That's got to be even harder being right on the cusp of getting past that first trimester hurdle. I shouldn't be reminding you and talking about it. Sorry... A loss is sad, but it's now time for looking ahead and moving forward. I like how you said you've "decided" to have PMA. That's awesome. We all definitely need a ton of that around here. I hope to see you in February hon...I know you could help me for sure. You're a pro at this. Hey! Maybe with the honeymoon some magic will happen and you won't need that fourth round! How's dh doing? Do you still have some of his little guys on ice, or will he have to have another procedure this time? I hope for him, not! That's got to be so painful for them, too. Especially with the location!

It's so good to hear from you again, and I will be looking for the news on your honeymoon...And I want tons of pictures too!! I know I'll never make it there, so will have to live vicariously through you my dear...

Jessica...Got your myspace address, but work has it blocked, so I sent it home and will take a peak tonight. I need to get pictures on mine. I changed my URL address to include my last name, cause all other variations of my name were used up. Anyway, my husband said that's not smart out there. So, I've changed mine to private, and sent you the invite. I think I ended up sending it twice, so forgive if I did. Oh! You had asked on the other board what was with the "whale penis" talk...Well, I kept saying goofy stuff, so called myself a "dork". Then, I proceeded to share that I had recently learned there was another definition for dork, and it's actually a whale penis! So, instead of calling myself a dork, I started saying I was being a "whale penis"...Truth is I just like saying the word "penis". Not quite sure why, but think it's a funny word and not used nearly enough. Hey! Guess what?! I'm being a whale penis again!!

Tammy...I'm so glad to hear you have your follow-up appointment all set. I know you're needing answers dear. My husband has a pretty negative view of doctors in general and frequently says, "They are only PRACTICING medicine." The truth is though, which my RE admitted, there are mysteries behind conception that they just don't have the answers to yet. IVF is a relatively new field, and it's difficult to monitor conception with all the variables and them happening in an environment that doesn't allow for examination without compromising the very elements that might be part of what makes it work. I hope hubby can forgive the doctor, but you both definitely deserve his time. My RE spent over an hour on the phone with me, and another two in his office (with no charge, as this was part of the program). I felt like that was an honorable thing to do, and the doctor was really honest with me, and I regained trust in him after talking to him. Your doctor sounds like he has a good track record, right? Have you pulled up the clinic's CDC report? I can show you how to find that if you'd like. It's only updated to 2003 right now, but helps you see what their stats are compared to the national level. Not exactly fair, as there are a lot of variables behind those numbers, but it helps give you an idea of they are within the norm or have extremely poor numbers.

Anyway, I do know that the next round is less expensive regardless of my situation. But, in addition to that reduction, I talked with the business manager at my clinic and she will be going over the new rates for the upcoming year with the board. She said during that same meeting she would present my case to see if there are any additional discounts they can provide. I know everyone at my clinic was just as devastated at my results as I was. They all looked at me so sadly it made me want to start crying again. I wanted to go in there educated, strong and wanting answers, and left a human again. They are human too, and have faults, but they also have hearts. I so hope they support you in another round. If for no other reason than to give you answers. I know where you are coming from, and know exactly your fears and frustrations. I hate that it happened to either of us, but to have it happen along side someone else made things a little less painful. I felt so alone when I couldn't find anyone else that this happened to. So, I just wanted to thank you for being here for me...And to be another Wisconsinite is even better! :) You hang in there, and I know things will find a way of working themselves out. You have a great dh who is hurting too. Just keep communications open and don't forget to cuddle in bed. That always helps. I think he wants his distance, but as soon as I start spooning with him, I can tell he's comforted by me being there for him too. I'm not sure if it would help, but if your dh needs someone to talk to, I'm sure my dh would be willing. Sometimes to see their counterparts and talk is just as therapeutic as it is for us to talk to our cohorts. Just let me know if he'd be interested or get any value out of it.

Oh my gosh! Look at this post...I didn't mean to be so darn long winded. On the other hand, when have I ever not been?!

hey charity, i think i will join you too as working all my dates out it will def be Feb if not March the rate we are going. Aunty if you read this, I'm not deserting you honest!!

Like Souris, had a BFP and then we lost the heartbeat and ended up having a D&C a few weeks back...but I'm back looking ahead and also like Souris planning a dream hol in Malaysia for Jan. We are unexplained fertility and I hear so many stories about people getting pg naturally as the ivf has kick started the system so I'm praying hard that this may happen, but if not, its back on the merry go round!!

This time our DR said trying ICSI as apparently my eggs were a little too hard for the swimmers to get so they are giving them an extra helping hand which is sweet of them! Plus I also get double dose of drugs...not so helpful but needs must and all that.

you make me laugh with yr version of 'dork' - whale penis love it.... can you imagine calling someone that rather than a dork - it would be so funny.

Q: how do you make myspace private - i've just got some msg from a strange bloke!! If its private does that noone can view?

Souris sweetie how are you doing ? So was it fun driving a 4x4 ? When we go to the states we always try and get one, they are so big....!! I have a baby one, a little rav4 and he is lovely and just right for me.

right must sign off now - been on the net for hours tonight !!

Hi Girls, would love to join you. Belong to the Dec/Jan thread too, as I thought I would be cycling in Jan. Just been bumped to Feb cause of Insurance reasons. Definitely not deserting my Dec/Jan buddies. You can never have too many cycle buds. Good luck to everyone on the thread. I'm looking forward to lots of valentine babies. :D

Nims…I saw your post on the Dec/Jan thread and was thinking that it would be great to be cycling with you…Malaysia…That’s awesome too! I’m lucky if I get to go to the Wisconsin Dells this year! I work for an international company so have contacts all over, and the people from Malaysia are great! They love the Western way of life, so they're always pleased to talk with us about our lifestyle and personal lives. They love to learn how the “average” person lives, works and socializes. Oh, and there’s never an issue with the language either, which is nice when traveling to that region of the world.

That makes me think about the reason I discovered the other definition for “dork”. I have a coworker who just transferred to the States from Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is such a Mr. Romantico (those Latin lovers, ya know), and always gets a little flirty in emails, so naturally I called him a dork. He asked me what it meant…So being at a loss for words, as I am most of the time  , I reverted to my trusty internet and went to the “Urban Dictionary” website to steal one of their better definitions. As I was scrolling, I find this whale penis as one of the alternate definitions. It cracked me up. So, I told him that it meant someone who’s being goofy or silly, or a whale penis…He emailed me back and was cracking up! He thought that was the funniest. I did send him the link to the Urban Dictionary so if anymore American slang had him stumped, he could refer to their plethora of knowledge. He said he saved it to his “favorites”. Always there with a helping hand…Yep that’s me…I call you whale penis in one breath, and then show you how to find more definitions like it on the other

I’m so sorry for your loss, too, Nim  …You ladies have really had an emotionally draining experience. I know you all should surely get the vacation of your dreams. You’ve earned it for goodness sakes! Not to mention it’s your opportunity to make that miracle baby. I had a coworker that had been trying to get pg for about 10 months, and then got married, went to Hawaii for her honeymoon, and low and behold, she conceived on her honeymoon! 4 months after her baby girl Hope was born she was pg with her baby boy Drew…So, her vacation destination did the trick! Twice! I haven’t given up on the thought of natural either. Dh and I have had a couple months in here before we start the BCP’s at the end of this cycle, and we’re giving her all she’s got to make that miracle baby of our own. They haven’t pinpointed our IF either, so we’re not really sure if anything they’ve found is enough to keep us from conceiving naturally. There are find minor things that “could be part of the problem”. Speaking of that, my RE had mentioned a couple where the wife had both tubes removed, and he told her that her chances of conceiving naturally were zero. She tried a couple rounds of IVF with no success. She stopped by his office 3 months later to tell him she was pg naturally! He was (and still is to this day) so baffled how she could have conceived with no fallopian tubes. So, he never says never anymore.

I hear you on the mega-dose of drugs. They’re planning on that with me too…I was on a low dose the first round and they got 15 eggs, but only 6 were mature. I just worry that if they super-stimulate me, I won’t be able to walk! If I had 15 on a low, not sure what a high one will bring. Hopefully a BFP!!

You know, when it comes to myspace, I’m an idiot. I just set-up my account this past week, and am not sure how it all works, but on your header page, there is a blue box on the left corner of your screen, next to where you picture would be, there are options to "edit profile" and "account settings". If you select the "account settings" and then click on "Privacy Settings" and "IM Privacy Settings" you can change it there so that only friends can contact you. They can still see your profile, I think, but that’s it. I'm pretty sure they can still contact you to invite you to be their friend or to ask permission to be yours, but I'm still learning, so not positive. Maybe someone else can give us both some direction on how the whole darn thing works..?

Souris…I forgot to mention the 4X4…So, are you getting one, or just toying with the idea..? Nims…We did look at the Rav4’s. You’re right. They are cute…My hubby and I are pretty tall (and not slim by any means), so we wanted just a little more space.

Janice…It’s so good to see another familiar face. I know what you mean about not deserting the Dec/Jan gals. They’re so much fun. And full of PMA…It’s too bad that insurance has to be the reason for you being bumped, but knowing that everything is covered will be such a relief and will help you get that stress-free BFP!

Well, I think I monopolized enough space for today. You ladies take care, and I’ll be reading you soon. That is, if you can get through all of my rambling…Take care…

Souris...Was just telling dh about Maldives, and did a little more research and you probably already know this, but that's where Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are spending their honeymoon yachting amongst the Maldives Isles. Going to rub elbows with the high-profile, posh couple, are ya? Don't mention IVF to them, though. They're into that scientology you know... :P
