Hi...any SCBs still around?

Hi All Havent been on for a while as needed time off. However feeling better now and trying to catch up with everyones news! Thanks for all the lovely messages you sent me, they really do help. Nikola, knew you would be producing a litter after all those pigs, many many congratulations! Congratulations to Jackie, sorry I wasnt on to say so at the time. Dagny, went for dinner with friends in Redhill on fri night and had a drink for you. So my follow up is on 5th Nov, and I am hoping to do FET in Jan, never done one before as last time all my embies perished so didnt get to ET. Hoping these ones are wrapped up nice and warm and will be ok. Good news on that is it looks like I will have some cycle buddies, Sarah? July Ann? who else? Couldnt face anything before Xmas and hoping that next year will be THE year. Think I am going to ask for a natural cycle as this is what they prepared me for last time, but I was 7yrs younger and at a different clinic so guess I will have to wait and see. Hi Squew, I was an SCB and as you can see from my last post am now going through another lot of testing!! By the time these have finished it will be Xmas so it is likely I will be cycling again in January. Lets hope it will be New Year New Babies for all of us!! Love Karen xx

Hi Sue, nice to hear from you.......Maldives-Ooooh, can I squeeze in your suitcase?? I am another SCB who is gonna go again.......I will be doing a FET too, my clinic dont do natural cycles anymore so will be doing drugs assisted.......... Can start anytime but will probably not start next cycle as dont want ET at xmas!! Have not completly decided but will probably start on 2nd AF, around Dec so hopefully ET in jan, going to Cornwall fri for a break, not quite the Maldives but I will sit in my caravan & if it rains it will almost be like a water bungalow....(Oh well, I can pretend) Take care & speak soon Sarah xx

Hi Sue I'm glad you are back and feeling ready to go again. Looks like you will have lots of old buddies to hold your hand!! I'm so envious about the Maldives - did you read my thread about having to cancel our Water Villa. Are you staying at the Kanuhura? There was a fab offer with Emirates Business Class Flights and a stay in a Water Villa at the Kanahura (pay 5 nights and get 5 nights free). It works out to be a huge saving....well this was our honeymoon holiday!! If this is where you are going, I'm pleased its going to someone who deserves a really nice holiday!! Enjoy, and have a swim with the fishes and a few cocktails for me!!! We are still trying to find somewhere less tropical and near a good hospital!!! Normally you look through the brochure and make sure it has a nice pool or is near the beach - I've never had to look for a holiday that has good hospitals!!!! We are quite limited and it looks like we'll either go to Dubai, Florida or The Bahamas.......all nice places to go, but just not the Maldives!!! The Sunday Times Travel section had a huge article about places in the Maldives to stay - you should read it.....it made us v. jealous! Sarah - do you think there is room in your caravan for me and dh? Could you check out the hospitals just in case! I'm pleased all my old buddies are going to be cycling together and I'll be watching and willing you all on, every step of the way!! Love to you all nikola.xxx

Hi Nikola, Plenty of room for 4 more!! (not sure about hospitals though, probably few & far between) Its only a cheapo sun weekend..... We had our main holiday in APril, to destress before IVF. We went to Cuba & stayed at Sandals(couples only!!) resort in VAradero......It was wonderful, we also did an overnight trip to HAvana which was out of this world, all the old cars & cigars, was like being in a time warp.... Florida sounds good and they must have a good hospital, look at VAl!! Take care Sarah xx

As for holidays we're not away until Feb when we've booked a cottage in the Lakes - way up in the Kentmere round (can't wait!!) Hi I'm still here too and hopefully cycling again after Christmas too so we'll have SCB's #2 in January. I have booked a follow up appt for 31st Oct so we'll see if they suggest anything different this time. Sue where do you live? I looked at your profile and it says West Sussex - I work in Burgess Hill so may not be v far away. I'm not that far from Dagny either. Let us know which island you're going to, I've been to a couple and they were both beautiful Go in a seaplane if you can as the view takes your breath away. We were going to try and fit a holiday in but I don't think we'll manage it as work is getting too busy already. Look - not a bracket in sight!! Lots of love Kat xx

hi i'm back, glad to see you are feeling better and ready to go again(we must be mad). I hope to have tmt before xmas but will wait and see when af will show her face, af is often late after failed tmt.hb and I have booked a hol to the red sea in november, really looking forward to that.so looks like we will be nice and brown for our next tmt. great idea for scb2 or should we be called the hard core ivfer's catch up soon july ann p.s I have to do more tmt as I have 3 hpt left..DO not tell nikola..

hi gang just thoughti'd drop into say hello to all my old buddies,delighted to see you are all positive thinking for the next{and hopefully final} round. july-ann i can't promise not to tell nikola, but as i am actually as bad {maybe worse} as you with the hpt, i will ask her to give you a break and drop the guilt trip..a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta to do!!!! and just to add my own bit, i am now 5 weeks and some days feel real tired and know i'm pregnant, but yet tonight i am struggling not to do one more test{how sad am i? all you lot talking of holidays makes me real jealous,even though i have had a few this year. ireland, las vegas, portugal and spain, oh yeah and a day trip to paris..we love a little hoiday... anyway got to go speak soon love jackie xxx

Hi All Nice to know we will be doing it again together! I dont know about anyone else but I am dreading it. I get myself into such a state when it fails(spent the last time with my head down the loo most of the day) that I almost dont want to do it for the fear of going through the failure. Do I need therapy?! Any suggestions on how to get some PMA? Am a natural pessamist so any suggestions welcome. Nikola, I am going to Kuramathi cottage club and spa, its one of the bigger Islands. Wouldnt normally pick such a quiet place but think we need to chill out, we only had a quick week in Majorca in July beacause of the IVF thing. I went to Dubai last year twice(and before you all think I am loaded i work in the travel industry!!). If i had got pg this is where we would have gone. Its fantastic, beaches superb, went in april and dec and weather great, not too long a flight, and the shopping.....need I say more. I am sure that the medical facilites are as good if not better! If you want to know anything about it please ask will do my best to answer! As for Cornwall, Sarah, I would love to go to cornwall, the company I used to work for was based in Dorset, so I used to go there a lot, but that is as far West I got.It is beautiful down there, and if it does rain you can go to the Eden project and pretend you are somewhere tropical! Not the same as Cuba but use your imagination! Kat, didnt realise you were so close! I live in East Grinstead, but I work in Haywards Heath. We are doing the seaplane transfer, was an hr and a half on a boat...yuk! Glad to see you are hoping to be a SCB2! What Clinic do you use? Whoops running outta space!! Sue xx

Hi All, I too am a mad seriel IVFer!! If you have read my recent posts you will see I am having umpteen more tests, so by the time they are done I think the next cycle will be after Xmas, plus hubby is away for most of Nov & Dec, and as we only have 1 frozzie left he will actually be needed for the next cycle!! hello all Karen, I'm glad you are having another go too. Looks like the old gang will be together again one more time!!! Sue - I went to Dubai last Dec (stayed at Jumeriah Beach Hotel) it was fab. We went to Wild Wadi everyday!! Sadly I won't be able to go this year if we do go to Dubai, I don't think those water slides are suitable for a pg lady!! My dh has investigated and is now fully educated on the medical health care system in Dubai. As you said its probably better than here (wouldn't be difficult!) There is so much money in dubai, they can afford to offer the best of everything. Dh really wants to go back, I would prefer to go West and visit the Bahamas (who also have a good english speaking hospitals!!) I love going on holiday in the winter, its the best time! Hope you are all doing ok and looking forward to your next tmt. I'm looking forward to holding hands with you all and offering you as much support (and the usual load of b*ll*cks nonsense that comes with it!!) Take care all love nikola.xxxxxxxx
