Hi All
Thanks for welcoming me to this thread i still can't believe it. :D
i am so happy for the good news on your scan Rachel i can't wait to get to that stage .
I feel exactly like you vicky 77 and wish that i could be at the 12week stage. This is such a worrying time. I calculated my dates from ER. Do you think i should do it from AF, is this what most people do?
MBA hope your sacn went well today.
Cmoscar thanks for the info on Jessica i am so pleased she has some answers.
Take care all

Vicky and Elliecat, please just realize you two are not alone. I think everyone that has gone through what we have gone through to have a baby really worries till that 12 week mark. But I think the time goes by much faster once you have that scan that shows you a good HB! It will be here before you know it!

Ellie, when will you get your first scan?

Good luck,
Cowgirl

Ellie-- I went online and found a IVF due date calculator. You just put in the date of ER and it gives you due date and how far along you are.
Keeping the faith!

Ellie - Use the pregnancy calculator on this ste, down the left hand side in the resources section, isn't this bit so exciting I am so pleased to be here, we have ll been so much, it is just great to have had all that PMA pay off!! :D

Cowgirl - I am so pleased everything has worked out real good for you, I bet you are feeling really relieved, take it easy and enjoy!

I will have a good read later as I dont have much time to do personals due to the amount of unpacking we have to do after our move! just thought I would check in..

I went to my Drs last night as I am soooooo big and the stomach pains are severe, it is apparently caused by the progestorone making the stomach valve relax, and fluid retention he gave me some gaviscon but I'd rather go without! the main thing is it is normal, he agreed I am very large but I was told that I will only get bigger so.....deal with it! amazing it didn't occur to me I might gain weight when pregnant!!! I have been housebound all day....the reason why? I have been drying my new big trousers and I have had nothing to wear!!!!! I am really that big!

Take care and hope you are all doing real good....

angellica, it is all the hormones they give us to make sure our "environemtns" are ready even the prenatels. If it is any help I too was like that at 5 weeks, but at almost 12, I am no bigger. :-) If this is your first baby, you might want t get some belly balm to help with streach marks :-) I used just regular vitimen E lotions with my other 2 children and didn't get any. Just a thought. Also please be very careful moving. It is so tempting to lift something heavy!

Take care,
Cowgirl

Thanks MBA i now have my new dates and they look great. I've missed a whole week :D and have a shorter time until 12 weeks yayyy.
Hi Cowgirl i had a scan yesterday to see if there was a beanie because my doc only does 1 HCG count it was great to see that there is actually something there and we are not dreaming. I have my HB scan on 21st Dec what a fantastic Christmas pressie i can't wait.
Hi Angellica my new date looks even better. Glad your move went well, have you found your kettle yet? Sorry you are feeling so uncomfortable. I think our bodies go through so much to get to this stage that it affects all in different ways, i can't wait for my tummy to grow :)
Pleased the weekend is here and i can take a break. :D

Ellie, I see you figured it out already with the help of the other girls, but just to add something, yesterday when I went to the clinic they told me that they use the ER date and then go back two weeks and use that as "last menstrual period" to put it that way. Isn't it great to have advanced one week in a second???????LOL

Angellica, I haven't gained too much weight yet, I am bloated though still. But remember that you had a humongous amount of follies so that may also be the reason why you are so bloated...........But at the rate I am eating I will start getting big soon, I was joking with my DH the other day that I'd better start having some nausea, otherwise I will be sooooooooo fat at the end of this pregnancy that it will be amazing!! LOL

Racheal, I am from Broward County in Florida (near Pembroke Pines).....are you coming to live back here someday???

Thook, my scan yesterday went great, thanks!!!!, I saw my little bubble, the following Monday I am going for another one, I will be 7wks by then, so I hope I will hear the HB!!!

Hope everybody else is doing great!!!

Vicki77,

OMG!!!!!!! I was born in Plantation General Hospital and lived in Miramar for 3 years with my husband! My sister lives there still, but my parents have moved to Melborne. I'm not sure who your OB/GYN will be, but I had the best one right near Pembroke Pines. His name is Robert Schinkler (I may have spelled it wrong.) His office is on University Drive and Sheridian Street if you are interested. I loved him because he was laid back. He sometimes wore sandels to the office and took the time to joke with us as well as to talk about the important stuff. It just so happens that he was my OB/GYN before we even decided to have our second one. I wish I could have him back again, but I have found a wonderful OB/GYN here in Houston that worked closely with my RE before he opened his own practice.

As far as moving back, I will someday move back to Ocala because we have a property located inside of the Ocala National Forest. We purchased it from my great grandmother right before she died. The property was grandfathered in so it will always be surrounded by beautiful forests and protected by the park rangers. I miss it desperately and wish I could go back. However, my husband's job brought us to Houston for now.

Racheal, I can't believe it, I live in Miramar!, that is sooooo funny!!!! , how small is the world!!, does this Dr.Shinkler speak spanish??, because we are going to go to an OB that we don't know, we were referred to him, some friends of mine saw him too and liked them, so I was going to try him, but if you are saying that this doctor is so great I might as well. The only thing is that our first language is spanish and we would like our OB to speak spanish too, mainly for my DH. Thanks for the tip!!!!!!!
That house in Ocala seams like a dream from what you are saying, I hope you can move soon!!..

Thanks for all the reassuring advice guys, at least I am not alone, I would like your advice again.................I have just found a lump, in the top of my left breast, I have implants and have not noticed it before probably due to not touching them due to the pain..it is not sore but is very hard and about 2 x 2 cms big! does anyone think it may be the hormones? has anyone ever had this?......

Yes he does speak spanish. In fact he is a rerd headed man that is as white as can be, but he did some of his schooling in Mexico! He is a really wonderful man and he is right near Miramar so it is convienant to home. We used to live in Meadows of Miramar when we lived there and I worked in the Business Plaza off of Miramar Parkway less than 10 blocks from the house. It was nice there, but I did not like the elementary school there because they ignored our requests for help with my older son. We eventually paid over $3000 to have him tested so we could get him the right help. Other than that, I loved the area. We used to go to Metro Zoo every weekend with the boys and walk everywhere. The Pembroke Pines Mall was wonderful for shopping and close by as well.

I will PM you the address and information for the OB/GYN. Tell him I refered you and he might even remember us!

Nance,

I saw your post about amino vs cvs vs nuchal scan. It is a very hard decision to make. I had the cvs test done this week. I was really nervous about it, but it went really well. He did it through my abdomen, like an amino. I have had no bleeding or any other side effects. I was able to see the babies after he did the test and they were still moving around in there!

I am an OB nurse at a large university hosptial, so I've seen some really terrible genetic defects. With that experience and my age, I wanted to make sure everything is okay. I was scared about the increased risk with a cvs, but if there was something terribly wrong (trismy 13, etc) I wanted to know that early on when I still had some options.

For most people, I'd suggest an amino. It is very safe, it's easy to find an experienced perinatologist to perform one and the results are very accurate. The stated m/c risk is 0.5%, but studies have shown with an experienced doctor it's much smaller than that.

Good luck with whatever decision you make!

Angellica, is that lump new, as since you started the treatment new, or you are not sure????. I would definetly have it checked by your RE, it might even be worth an US if he is concerned. Hormones can create some lumps, but you want to be on the safe side......

Racheal, thank you for all the tips, its fantastic!!!, please send me the info when you can from the doctor. Thank you!!

LauraLou, I am glad your test went well! BTW where are you in Texas? I am in San Antonio :-) I was surprized that even an OB nurse would be nervous, I thought it was just all us newbies :-)

Take care all,
