Hey everyone - Happy Thanksgiving to all of my american buddies! At my appt Monday - I was told that I can have a normal delivery, however my doctor is going to keep a close eye on me for extra bleeding during labor while I am dilating and, if need be, I will have an emergency c-section. Let's all hope that doesn't happen. The thing that disturbs me the most about a c-section is that I won't be able to bond with my daughter right away. I'll have to wait until I am out of recovery.

I have been having braxton hicks contractions too. They feel like slight menstrual cramps. My doctor said it's all normal. I am 50% effaced, but no dilation yet. My next appt. is the 27th - let's hope for a little dilation! Maybe a cm? That would make me happy.

I still have to get on photobucket to look at all the new baby pictures. A big congratulations to all of you! I can't believe how far we have come. My mom said recently that every baby is a miracle - but ours are extra special miracles because of everything we have had to go through to get here. Enjoy your miracles ladies!

Ok - I am off to eat turkey! :D

Hi Ladies

Went to the Dr today and my little girl seems to be in no hurry to leave the warm womb! :(
Have no dilation and she’s still quite high up so he believes it’ll take a few weeks yet! :? I guess I always believed she'd be early and so wanted to have her home for Christmas.
As long as all goes well and she is fine, I’m happy!!!!! Image

Hey MLG - I went to the doctor yesterday and got the exact same prognosis. My cervix is 50% effaced - but no dilation and my baby is very high. I also wanted her home for Christmas - and my doctor said months ago she could induce me one week before my due date. However, she told me yesterday that I have to be dilated at least 2 cm before she will induce me with no medical reason. So, I will have to wait. But, like you, I am happy no matter what! I will send dilation vibes your way - do the same for me!

Hi Girls!!!

I too am hoping for a little early arrival!!! I had my cerclage removed yesterday and was hooked up to monitors for several hours and they some braxton hicks but nothing super exciting yet!!! I was really hoping Logan would come this week - I guess there is still hope!!!

All of our babies should be home from christmas!!! My due date is dec 17th - but due to size they may induce me early - as of last week he is expected to be about 8lb8oz and all of his measurements are already measuring over 40 weeks!!! So I am REALLY hoping he comes soon so not to rip his mommy in half!

Wow, 8 lbs 8 oz.. They told me last week that mine was around 6 1/2 lbs. Which I thought was too big already!

I had a rough night of contractions the other day and I went in the next morning and they told me I was 2 cm, but nothing more has happened since then..

I had an appointment today and everything was just the same. We have a full moon on December 4th and The last time I was pregnant I had my son early (34 weeks) on the full moon. So I have my fingers ( and toes but not legs) Crossed!

I am sending you all out some baby vibes! wouldn't it be funny if we all plopped them out on the same day!

Okay EVERYONE SHOOT FOR DEC 4th!

Big hugs! I will check in soon.

Danielle

I would love to have mine on Dec 4!! As far as I am concerned - it can't happen soon enough! My doctor told me on Monday that I am still 50% effaced - but no dilation. She will not induce me without medical reason unless I am 2-3 cm dilated. So, I have to wait. I have, however, had braxton hicks contractions and some spotting ever since my exam. I think I may have lost my mucous plug (sorry if TMI) - so i am hoping I have dilated at least a cm. Yesterday, the cramps were so bad that I almost called my doctor. They weren't very close together - so i didn't really think it was labor. And today nothing has happened.

A friend told me that black licorice can help you dilate. Have you heard of this - or is it a myth? I hate black licorice - but I would be willing to choke it down if it helped me go into labor!

Well ladies - good luck to you both. I guess it's a race to the finish line at this point. I have a feeling you are both going to beat me! :)

I was hoping that would happen too!! Apparently he is being a bit stubborn!!! And I don't see my doctor til monday - I would at least like to know the state of my cervix, that would be a nice start! So I sit just waiting not knowing - had nst and bio profile today and he is still doing just fine but they wouldn't check my cervix without orders from my doctor and you can't see it on a regular ultrasound....

So sitting and waiting....

Hi ladies

My Doctor also said that he'd only induce labor for medical reasons - not that I asked him to - or if she's not born by the 27th (42th week).
Will be having next checking next Sunday, hope things have evolved by then.

Dilation and quick-labour dust to us!!!!! Image

Hi Ladies! Anyone else pleading with their unborn child to come out? lol... I am so uncomfortable and have such bad indigestion and lower back pain - but I am hanging in there! I was born 2 weeks early and am hoping that my little girl takes after her momma! Maybe I will do some jumping jacks. As if I could....

Just wanted to wish the 3 of you the best with your next appts - mine is tomorrow (Monday) too. MLG had one today. Let's hope you got some good news MLG- I can't imagine having to wait until 42 weeks! Actually - I didn't ask my doctor how overdue she will allow me to go if I don't go into labor or dilate at all. 42 weeks would put me into 2007!

Anyone else having trouble sleeping? I got up a record 4 times to pee last night. I think my little one has dropped a little bit and is using my bladder for a pillow!

Well I will look forward to hearing how your appts go - and I will post after mine tomorrow morning.

GOOD LUCK and DILATION DUST to all!

Lisa,

I am right there with you!!! I keep telling Logan its time to come out!!! I have dropped a lot and I am constantly uncomfortable!!! Between my hips aching, my bck hurting, not being able to go to the bathroom (#2) getting to the point that when I am thinking I am having a contraction the rest of me questions myself - I feel like I am going insane! For me to be induced would be for medical reasons - my son as of a week ago Friday was already 8.8lbs - If I go to term it is likely he will be over 10lbs and my dr knows I don't want a c-section unless its absolutely necessary - because my son is above the 90 percentile they will not let me go over....I also sleep like crap between finding comfortable positions, hips aching, hand falling asleep, absolutly can't sleep on my back and getting up 3-5 times a night to pee!!!! So I beg my son please come soon!!!!!

Hello!

I had my appt today... I had the awful mid wife that I can't stand ( she is very rude and doesn't listen)

She said my cervix hasn't changed.. and then I said its still 2cm and she said Oh no dear.. I wouldn't call it 2 cm, perhaps the other doctors were trying to make you feel better. She is an evil cow... LOL

She also told me that the baby is very high up and I have weeks and weeks still to go.. I was almost in tears when I left the office..

but its a full moon.. Im hoping the baby will show her how little she knows!

I am in the same boat with all of you.. Except the baby hasn't dropped yet. But they say sometimes they don't in non- first pregnancys..

If I tried to do a jumping jack I think I would pass out on the floor!

MLG I feel really badly for you.. I know it must be a really miserable waiting game if you go past your due date. I am really hoping non of us will know that first hand.

Big Hugs to everyone!

Danielle

I spent the entire day today feeling sorry for myself and did not feel any better until I got on here and ready your posts - Jessica and Danielle. I did leave my doctors office in tears today. In fact it turned into a sobbing fit - I had to pull myself together for 15 minutes before I could even leave the parking garage.

I have not progressed at all - no more thinning, no dilation, no dropping. My doctor said she is concerned that the baby had not dropped yet and is thinking that maybe her head is too big to fit through my pelvis. She said she will not let me go past the 18th - that way, worse case scenario, I will be released by the 22nd and will be home for Christmas. She is thinking a c-section may be necessary again. Then she told me how she went two weeks overdue on one of her pregnancies and ended up delivering a 9.5 lb baby and would burst into tears every time she went to her doctor because she wasn't progressing - which is what started the flow of tears for me.

The reason I am so upset is because I am just miserable with discomfort - my hips and back hurt constantly, and I have constant pressure in my pelvis which makes me waddle. I am huge - and everyone loves to tell me exactly how huge I am at every oppurtunity. May be silly but it hurts my feelings. I barely ate anything last week and my weight went up 7 friggin pounds! In ONE WEEK! I just don't see how that is possible.

I know I shouldn't complain. I want this baby and am still thrilled that it is happening - but i think my hormones are getting the best of me here lately and I can't seem to control it. I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and realize I am lucky to have a cool doctor that wants me to be home with my baby by Christmas.

The whole c-section thing sucks - but whatever needs to happen to get my baby safely into the world, then so be it.

Ok - that was my rant. I promise to pull myself together and sound more positive next time I post.

MLG - how are you doing?

Jessica - your baby is that big already? Wow - aren't you a tiny little thing?

Danielle - I FEEL YOUR PAIN!

Chat with you later everyone.
