All

It looks like everyone has been really busy! I hope all is fine. I only have a short time to post so I am going to make it quick. Friday my asthma flared something awful and I was admitted to the hospital for observation on Saturday. They released me on Sunday and told me to see my OB Monday. I went to the OB and she wanted to admit me again since I was getting worse, but decided to send me to an asthma specialist. The specialist was really nice and very concerned. My oxygen levels were 72-75 and they want them up at 90-100. He gave me a new treatment in the office and made me wait to retest. 20 mins later, he rechecked me. I did not improve as much as he wanted, but it was enough to go home instead of the hospital. I have now missed work two days in a row and my boss is not thrilled. Tomorrow, I am going back to the doctor to check the baby and my oxygen levels again. Hopefully they will improve enough to return to work. However, essentially they have decided that my body is having a mild reaction to the pregnancy hormones and I will now have to be on long-term control medications and they want to see me every two weeks from now on. On the bright side, we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat yesterday on the doppler and s/he seems to be doing good despite the lower oxygen.

Anyway, I have to run back to bed before hubby finds me on the computer.

Racheal, I hope you get to feeling better! I have noticed that I require more air right now, and I do not have any types of breathing problems. Like right now when the covers are close to being over my head my chest feels heavy like I am not getting enough air. Maybe us PG women require more oxygen.

Take care and keep us posted!

Vicky77 - You're right, when I was in Florida and pregnant with the older boys, my asthma was non existant.

Cowgirlclass - The blanket thing is something I always have a problem with. I never want anything over my head!

It looks like everyone else is doing well. My hubby is letting me stay awake for an hour or so until I have to take my next breathing treatment. Then he will make me go back to bed. I will keep looking out for all of you.

Vicky--my RE said moderate exercise was okay. I wear a heart monitor, and my heartbeat is not supposed to go over 140--which means it's a fairly light workout. Check with your own doc though....it might depend on each person. I usually try to walk or ride a stationary bike or do some time on the elliptical. No running though. That makes me nervous.

Racheal--I hope you're feeling better! How scary! Don't know if this helps or not....but I've been on Singulair for ages, and it has kept my asthma in check. My RE said it's okay to use during pregnancy. Just a thought....

Hope everyone else is well. I'm thinking of you!

By the way....new development for me. HEARTBURN!!!!! agh! Anyone else having that problem? Any good solutions?

buckeye - I have had heartburn in all of my pregnancies and I fight it with sugar free jello! It may sound funny, but it really helps. The sugar free has only a few calories so you can feel comfortable eating at any hour, mine is usually around midnight!

I am feeling a little better. I over did it a little tonight and had my very first nose bleed ever! It scared the heck out of me! So now I am in bed resting again and I will be going to the OB in the morning to ask more questions!

I don't know how the weather is in Florida, but here in Texas it has been freezing every morning and I am about the fly south for the winter! I hope everyone is staying nice and warm (hopefully while cuddling close to someone you love) but I am glad we have central heat and big fluffy blankets tonight!

Good night all!

Angellica sending you lots of PMA and energy that all is well with your lump, thinking of you.
Vicky77 i am finally starting to get excited but it is still so hard waiting for the HB scan i have to wait until 21st and it seems so far away.
cmoscar i am so sorry you are having problems with your breathing, it must be such a scary thing to go through even when you aren't pregnant. Wow it must have been great seeing a HB i can't wait. Thinking of you.

Central heating sounds so great! I live in northern Spain and am in the process of renovating a farm house whilst we live in it. At the moment the weather has been ok but i know if last year is anything to go by that wont last long. We have been stocking up on lots of wood, I have lots of fluffy blankets (that i have to share with my cats!) and i send DP to bed first to warm my side up. :)
Take care all

ellicat that sounds COLD! I lived in Italy for a while and our method of heating was Karosene and that was scary!

Angellica, hope you are able to relax some and finding some of that PMA :-)

Racheal hope all goes well with your scan today and the doc can answer all your questions.

Hey Thook, where you at? We miss you!

As for me I am doing GREAT! I got the news back from my Nuchal testing and it came back 1 in 3200 for downs, big change considering for my age they had me at 1 in 150. And 1 in 10000 for Trisomy 18 not sure what my age had me at for that. So no amenio for me. :-) I am sure Junior appricates that! I also recieved my first baby purchase in the mail yesterday it is so adorable! It is my crib bedding set! My husband and me decided to be surprized by the sex of the baby so I have been looking for something gender neutral in bears, because my husband nickname is bear (growls like a grizzly, cute as a teddy). Well I found the perfect one! It can be seen at http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... 0000294750 and remember we are horsey lovers!

Well everyone have a nice day!

Racheal, here in South Florida the temp is around 70-80's, so it is very nice, you should come down here

Cowgirl, that set is gorgeous, those bears and the little horses are so cute!!!!!!!, I still don't have the guts to buy anything, my mom bought me a cute outfit for the baby that says "Whoof, my little puppy likes to play", because we also have a chocolate lab puppy...., but that is about everything I have so far....

Ellie I feel for you the anxiety, watiting until the 21st is torture!!!, I am feeling tortured wating only until Monday, so imagine!!!!!.

Kim thanks about the excercise tip, I guess I will ask my RE on my next visit.........

Everybody, good luck on your scans/appointments!!!!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have been missing in action for a few days. Work has been so busy and I am so tired when I get home I just crash. I was in bed last night by 6:30. I have not done that since I was 10 I think. I have so many posts to catch up on. I am off from work today to do some errands around the house.

Cowgirl - Congratulations on your great results from your Nuchal scan. You must be so relieved. And you got the results really quickly. I can imagine how relieved you feel. I wish I get numbers like that. Mine is next Thursday so I guess depending on the results I will decide about the amnio. I am just worried about the high % of false positives. I'm afraid that I will freak out if it comes out bad but then I realize I freak out most of the time anyway so there really will be no difference. Your bedding set is absoluetly adorable. I can't wait to start buying things for the baby but I am going to wait until 12 weeks. Actually I did make one purchase. One of those cool pregnancy body pillows. I read that they are great and will help get into a comfortable position to sleep. It looked so comfie that I could not resist. I am considering it a "to me, from me" Christmas present.

Angelica - I will be praying that your lump turns out to be nothing bad. I have had several of those types of biopsies and they really are not that bad so try not to worry. I know easy for me to say.

Vicky - I know the wait is torture. Between each one of my appointments seems like an eternity. I am just trying to think positively and keep myself busy so I do not worry too much. I am so jelous that it is so warm where you are. I'm in NY and this morning it was in the 20's. I hate the cold.

Rachael - I hope your scan goes well today. Let us know how it goes.

Cmoscar - I am so sorry you are not feeling well. I will say a prayer that you begin to feel better soon. Try to rest as much as possible and let your DH take good care of you. What part of Texas are you from? I have family in Plano. I have never been but my parent went out there a few years ago and said that it is beautiful but very hot. They went in the middle of the summer.

Ellie - I hope you are doing well and surviving your wait for your scan. Your farmhouse sounds so nice. I always wanted to visit Spain I hear it is beautiful. Did you grow up there? How many cats do you have? I have one and he is my baby.

Buckeye - I hear your pain with the heatburn. I have been getting it on and off for the last few weeks and it is awful. I also have a really bad taste in my mouth like I have been sucking on roll of pennies. I find that eating something sweet helps a little and to eat a lot of meals throughout the day instead of of just three big ones. I find that it is better in the morning but as the day goes on it gets worse. I give you so much credit for exercising. I never was much for exercising but I would like to start some kind of walking program. I am on a "no exercising" order from my Dr. for now but hopefully when that is lifted I will ask if I can do some walking.

Sorry for the long rambling post. I hope everyone is well. All my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Cowgirl i am so pleased that your nucheal scan results came back fine. Do you know what chromosones they test for because when i had my PGD they tested for chromosome 18, 21 and 13 would these be what is tested in the scan because if so i guess i don't need to worry about that when the time comes which would be nice. I have never been to Italy but will one day.

Nance i have been in Spain a year on NOV 1st and so this positive is a great start to our life here. I have 2 cats and they are very spoilt they are definatly my babies and i am not sure how they will react when my little girl arrives. I bought 1 cat over from England with us and the other we found as a stray kitten in the village and they really dont like each other. Spain is beautiful and we are in the country about 1 hour from the coast. i am finding it quite hard not speaking the language that well but i seem to cope ok with my doc and think we are a novelty at the clinic because of not being Spanish.
It must have felt great telling your family, i have told mine because they knew we were having treatment but have kept it quiet from those who didn't know until i am sure everything is ok. Just saying "I am pregnant" gives me goose bumps. :D

I picked my Almond trees a couple of months ago and decided to get them ready today to make treats for christmas but i suddenly realsied that they might not be ok to eat. Does anyone know? It has been so hard not munching them.

Hello Everyone-

Sorry I have been missing from the boards for a few days.... work has just been crazy lately.

Colleen- were you able to get in for a scan yet?

Nance- I'm glad to hear that your dinner went well. What an exciting way to tell everyone... they must have been so happy.

Angellica- good luck with your scan. I'll keep my fingers crossed that is is nothing serious. Please keep us posted.

M'BA & Vicky- I'm so glad everything went great with your 1st ultrasounds. You must have been so happy...

Rachela- I'm so sorry to hear your not feeling well. Hopefully the new medicine works and you start to feel better soon. Please keep us posted...

Kim- I hear ya about heartburn... I can't eat anything with mustard, pizza sauce, etc. However, TUMS have become by best friend. I keep a bottle with me at all times. Good Luck!

Cowgirl- great news about your test results. We have decided to have the blood test and see what are numbers come out as. However, we will not be doing the amnio no matter what. I figure everything happens for a reason and if that's what I meant to have then so be it. Also adorable bedding... I can't wait to start shopping for baby stuff. I have actually been really good lately.

As for me things are going great. I'm so excited that I'm now into my 13th week and going strong.... I wish and pray that all of you ladies get to this point and start to feel the way I do.

Chat with you all later,
Tasha

I am really glad to hear from you thook :-) I thought you disappeared :-)

I sure would like to hear from Ophee, I think about her all the time and hope she and her babies are doing well! I truely, truely hope my comment about not being able to do that myself wasn't offensive! I respect her decision and only her and her doctor knows whats best. I say a prayer for her and her PG almost every night.

Take care all,
