Breech babes and version....

Post by Inhale, Exhale »

Hi girls....
I am 35 weeks and had a scan Monday that showed my Babygirl is breech. She has two weeks to flip (chances slim) .. then I need to decide if I am having a version (doc pushes on the outside to turn baby) or straight to a c-section. Anyone have experience with a version?

I really would prefer a birth experience rather than a c-section, but there are risks with the version- minimal, but still there. Plus, the research I have done says they only work 65% of the time.. that would mean an extra epidural for nothing if it doesn't work and c-section.

Any advice?

I'm an OB nurse and to be honest, 65% success seems high to me. I've only seen it work a couple of times. I don't know of anyone who had serious complications from a version, so it might be worth trying. I just wouldn't count on it working.

Good luck!
