Hi everyone. how are we all doing?
getting close now
I had a bit of a scare the other night, i started gettind regular pains every hour then every half an hour. i thought that was it. i paniced and rang delivery suit and they told me to come straight in. they montitered the babies for hours, luckily i wasnt having contractions THANK GOD!. They gave me some steroids to strenthen the babies lungs just incase they decided they wanted to make an early enterance. The pains just turned out to be braxton hicks and tightening pains. They bloody hurt. Well i stopped in for the night and was given some more steriods 24 hours later. so if they were to come now at least there lungs will be really good, so they should have lungs like Barbra stiesand now lol.
IM just going to take it very easy from now on. the doctors dont think my body will cope to the end much longer. The really want me to last out at least another 3 or four weeks.
While i was in the hospital i got the chance to see the most precious baby girl. i got talking to a lady who gave birth on sunday at just 29 weeks, The baby is fine and doing excellent. she asked me if id like to go down to the special care baby unit while she expressed her milk. i wanted to back out cause i was scared of how she might look, she was only 2 pound 5.
i thought i might make her feel sad if i didnt go so i agreed to go :? And am i glad i did! she was beautiful. and nowhere near as small as i expected she was very long and had plenty of fat on her. She was soooo pretty. She had that much hair you couldnt even see her scalp and her eye lashes were that long and jet black. She was so strong she kept pulling the tube out of her nose and breathing all by heself. I talked to the nurse and she told me she would to just great. it was the most amazing thing. i t put my mind at ease so much and i put my arms round the lady and thanked her for letting my see her. i couldnt believe my two little girls were bigger then little erin already. and if they were to come early i would no what to expect. and it was nothing bad at all.
Ithought id share the wonderfully experience with you all too :)

hi girls....

hayley....snap....ive been in hospital for the past few days.... got home a few hours ago....
i had backache and was leaking a little..... i was also given the injections for the babies lungs..... all has settled now...though cervix is high its pretty soft... they reckon babies will arrive in a few weeks....if i get that far... i want to get to 36weeks but my consultant said 32-34 at a push... im so scared.... twin 1 is head down and weighs 3lb5 --twin 2 is breech and weighs 3lb7 and is a GIRL!!!!!....dont know twin 1's sex!!!.
i had an internal to check cervix...i had a lot of mucus which was why a little protein was in my urine as was blood... thankfully all has settled down...

hope all you girls are well... im off to lie down...

love to all

Hi Girls,

I'm still here  :D

Kareen - Good to see you back posting. Sorry you were in hospital, but whey-hey - you finally know the sex - of one at least!!! How did that happen - did they tell you and more improtantly, does your dh know or are you having to seriously watch what you say. LOL They sound a great weight )no wonder your back is sore!) and it's good you have had the injection... here's hoping things go a bit longer for you, but even if they come now - they really will be fine... You take it easy and look after yourself!

Hayley - Sorry to hear you were also in hospital. Braxton Hicks are a nightmare, but supposed to be a good sign as your body is preparing - may mean an easier labour   I bet is was a scare though - at least your hospital are being careful and taking all the precautions - yoou also take care...

Justine - yes, my friend - I'm still here. Can't quite believe it - 37 and a half weeks  Have to say, really want to go now. Scan went well and the wee man has turned - he just doesn't feel like he's dropped much although he must have a little as I've been a bit more comfortable at night the last 2 nights. I'M READY NOW THOUGH - Christmas is looming ever closer and see if the wee beggars holding on for that... You story about your mother made me laugh - she sounds a bit like mine can be - good intentions but has the abilitly to drive you nuts at times. One day left at work for you - hurrah - here's hoping you get some time to pamper yourself and not go into labour the next day... I would have panicked with contractions on the coach too - I bet your mother would have too had it been her!!! Seriously though - you keep an eye on them...

Hope everyone else is good. Look after those bumps!

Hello Ladies,

I feel like lately im only able to post once a week....as things have gotten a bit scary..

Kareen~ wow sounds so scary to be so close but boy do i understand how you must be feeling.. Just stay positive and think about how awesome its going to be to have your little girl and your surprise little baby with you. Hopefully they will wait till next year, but if not at least you have had the steroids that are good for their lungs. Happy to know that the babies are at such good weights, i have read in many magazines that as long as you get to 32 weeks and 3 lbs of baby, their rate of being really healthy is just as good as a full term, with the assistance of the nicu for just a short time. Please dont worry darling i think you are going to do wonderful.

Hayleeeeeeeee you are so cute! im so glad your little girls are still not making you contract, how awesome... I have been contracting for weeks already. Hope you hold off till next year as well... Take good care of yourself.

Jo~ how ar you lovely, i think of you always... i hope you are doing well.
please take good care of yourself.

Tammy~~ Hows your baby boy doing???? Hope you both are well...

Justine~ You are gonna have your hands full in no time, hope all is well..Hows Sophia doing???

Zoe~ OH MY GOD YOU ARE ALMOST THERE!!!!!!!!! how exciting this must be... hope you are doing well and resting... take good care and pleaseeeeeee keep us posted.

As for me ladies, I had my 28 week scan a few days ago.. all the babies have grown.. My girl is now the biggest at 3lbs2oz, baby b 3lbs0 and baby c 2lbs14oz. Those weights put a smile on my face when i saw it but man has it put a damper on my cervix. Im contsantly feeling tightening... My cervix is at 2.1cm.. my perinatologist is not happy with the shortening and has me scheduled to be admitted to the hospital for monday!!!!! which means the holidays will be enjoyed with the lovely nurses in the antepartum unit  My Gestational diabetes is not behaving because of the terbutaline medication so now i have been placed on glyburide to control the diabetes. Sleep is almost impossible but hey what can we do.. I must do whatever it takes to incubate these lambs at least for another 4 weeks but my doctor wants another 8 weeks  i think he is sleep deprived and has no clue what hes asking of my body. he scares me to death each time of all the difficultlies premies face especially before 32 weeks... so my goal and milestone at the moment is 32 weeks... i think with strict hospital bedrest and medication i might make it to the date.... I miss u ladies... Hope all of you are just hanging on to these moments... they are precious...

Best wishes,
Vita

Vita,

It was so good to read your post. You have done flaming brilliantly to get to 28 weeks ad the babes sound like their weights are fantastic. I hope you get to the 32 week mark you want my friend, so just do as your told and keep those leggies crossed! LOl Do they think that hospital bedrest will help the cervix not to shorten any more??? I know you want to go as far as you can, but even if the worst came to the worst and they came now, they'll be fine with weights like that :D What are you feeding them girl??!

I'm sorry the diabetes is playing you up, but just think of that end result - WOW - I can't even begin to imagine 3 at once... Anyway, you take care my love and we'll all wait with baited breath for the posting of your great news

As for me - I'm taking care but am suprised at how mobile I still feel. I am resting - for my standards  - am driving DH mad with all the DIOY I'm trying to get him to pack in before the wee man arrives...

Take care

Hello Ladies:

Andrew and I are fine. I finished my Christmas decorating. I decorated the house and the Christmas tree and DH hung lights outside. I'm sorry that I have not posted in awhile, but I've been nursing a nasty cold and have been busy with this school semester winding down.

Vita: Hang in there! It is good to hear that your babies are all around 3 lbs. Let's hope for 32 weeks for you. I'm not sure how big Andrew is at the present time. I think the average is 2.2 lbs. I go to the Dr. next Thursday and have the glucose test. I will hopefully get a better feeling as to how big he is at the present time.

Zoe: It sounds like your little man wants to be a Christmas baby!

Justine: So glad to hear that your contractions went away. Maybe your baby wants to be a Christmas baby also. I bet your are glad that you only have one more day at work. I have one more week and then we are off for 3 weeks.

Hayley: How did your appt. go today? I have not yet experienced the braxton hicks. What do they feel like?

Kareen: Sorry to hear that you were in the hospital. Congrats on your baby girl!! Did you tell Darren yet? It sounds like both your babies are a nice size.

Jo: How are you doing? I feel bad complaining about my heartburn and gas pains, with all of the issues that you have been facing. Doesn't it feel good to finish the Christmas decorating? Andrew is an active baby now. It seems that he is the most active at night or early in the morning. When I go to bed and lie on my right side, he always starts moving.

Hello to everyone else.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Hello

How are you all? Silly question really! lol

Kareen and Hayley. I'm sorry you've been in hospital. It seems in the last few weeks the three of us have been admitted for the same thing! It's really scary, makes you realise that this is actually happening and for you two quite soon! I hope you both manage to stay out of hospital for christmas but saying that it is quite nice if you are in at Christmas. Everyone makes a special effort and there is usually a nice atmosphere. Just think, you wouldn't have to cook!

Kareen it is so wonderful that you know the sex of one of the babies and it is even more wonderful that even though you do, you are still going to have a surprise with the other one! Does Darren know?

I hope both of your pains have died down now. I'm still getting them. I've never had this with any of the others before, I'm still leaking a little too but not as much as it was.

Zoe that is so wonderful you have reached term. Well done you, and you are still feeling great which is even better. Are you planning on just having the 6 hour stop over in hospital if you are up to it? I wish I could but I know it will never happen! Is Sam getting excited about Christmas? Since we put the tree up Emma and Jodie are asking me hourly if it's christmas yet! I'm quite impressed they haven't opened the presents under the tree yet or eaten all their advent calendar!

Justine how are you? That must have been scary yesterday. With Jodie I went in at 35 weeks with regular BH, which turned out not to be BH and labour! I hope he stays in there for a few more weeks.

Vita my lovely. I feel your suffering. Your babies are wonderful weights you have done so so well. I'm sorry you are going in so early but it is a good thing. At least in hospital you won't want to get up and do things etc, you can be waited on properly hand and foot. Being in hospital at Christmas isn't all bad. Just think in a few more months this will all be a distant memory and a few months after that we won't even remember the pain and anguish we went through during our pregnancies.

At the moment I'm seeing every day Ellie stays in is a bonus and you should too. The diabetes will go as soon as the babies are born. Unfortunately though you may develop it later on in life if you have it when you are pregnant, just need to eat healthily. Isn't nature a wonderful thing, we need to reserve our energy while we are pregnant so we have the strength when the babes are here but no, we can't sleep during pregnancy! I've been getting up every hour to wee since day one, not it's about every 20-40 minutes!

Vita my doctor kept telling me that they were going to deliver Ellie at 39 weeks, despite Emma and Jodie coming at 35 weeks. I just smiled every time he said that. Now this week they have said they are going to TRY and get me to 34 weeks. Your babies will come when they want and it sounds like it won't be much longer. I hope you make it to the new year at least. Also, mum comes first. I'll be thinking of you and can't wait to see those photos on photobucket in a few months time!

Hi Tammy, glad you got the house finished. I love christmas, it really makes me smile. We often go for rides out in the evening just to see all the lights but I think it's me who enjoys it the most! I'm glad Andrew is being active. I've noticed that Ellie is more active now during the day than at night. I hope it stays that way! I too am suffering with heartburn. It's horrible. I tend to have my fist under my breast bone rubbing it all the time - like I need to push my boobs up anymore! I had it with the others too but not this bad. An old wife's tale is if you suffer with heartburn your baby will have lots of hair. Mine were all born with a mop of black hair!

I'm still hanging in there. Suffering with all this weight. I've now put on 61 lbs (just under 4.5 stone). I don't mind being big but it's the rest that comes with it. I'm swollen now from the minute I get up. It's all for a good cause so I can't complain - well I can a little!

I waddled to Emma's first nativity play yesterday. I'm so lucky the school is only 100 yards away. I have posted a photo of photobucket of her in her wolf outfit. I was so proud that I made that, I've never made anything before!

I have midwife on Thursday then my growth scan the following Thursday. I hope the rest of you are doing good.

Thinking of you all

Jo

hi girls....

just a quick post ....(while darren is at the shop)

ive to see the consultant on the 22nd december.... he will discuss some options with me, i hope i get to 36weeks but he said if i get over 32weeks he will be happy but preferrabley he wants 34weeks.....
right now im ok.... really uncomfortable and have such pressure in the pit of my stomach....twin 1 has been head down for a while and seems to be in position for birth...twin 2.....the girl...lol...was head down, then breech.. has moved again...she is lying across....she wont be moving for long.... doctor said there is limited room and hopes she turns head down in the next week or two.....
the doctor who was making sure there was enough fluid around the babies told me and darren that twin 2 was a girl and that twin 1 MIGHT be a boy but wasnt sure....so another few weeks and we will know for sure...but twin 2 is definantly a girl.......
anyway girls i better go... before the boss gets back......will try and get online monday or so...best wishes....jo...vita...zoe...justine...hayley... tammy and anyone ive missed....

good luck girls and take care....
