Hi all,

Just joined. I'm scheduled for my retrieval Sat. am. So nervous. Dr. thinks I'll have about 10. I'm 43 so who knows how many of those will be good. Anyone else on the December cycle, it would be great to chat with those going through the 2ww.

Hi Ange,

This is my first post too. I wish I had found this forum several weeks ago. I have learned more by reading here than I did at all my Doc visits (probably becasue I did not even know what questions to ask!)

I just had my ER yesterday. (They retrieved 5, which was very diappointing - 4 fertilized though) I know from reading that one's response to ER varies, but I feel fine - did not have pain meds or any cramping etc. I hope your ER is as pain free as mine was. We are implanting next week (using the 5 day vs 3 day). If the little guys make it throught the weekend I'd love to have a buddy to talk to during the 2 week wait. I just wish I could think about anything else - but I'm my mind is 100% on pregnancy.

Let's throw each other the baby dust everyone keeps talking about!

Hi Tex,

Here's to sprinkling baby dust all over you! I think my ET will be on Tuesday 12/12, so we can definitely keep eachother company during our 2ww. Don't worry about not having an a bunch retrieved, you only need 1. :D

I'm so happy to hear you didn't have pain after the ER, I worry about that. Were you told to take it easy and stay off your feet after the ET?

Well time to get ready for the big shot tonight, feeling like a pin cushion, but it will all be worth it!

Yup - those were my instructions. I spent the whole day with my feet up reading postings from this board. I got a chance to follow a bunch of ladies who had just gone through everything I had been through - but together. It was comforting to see everyone being so supportive of each other through the emotional ups and downs. It is also nice to know I'm not crazy when I can't stop obsessing etc. At least I know I'm not alone!! Guess it is part of the process.

I'm a psychologist so supposed know all this stuff (on an intellectual level anyway). Still, emotions are tricky esp when dealing with something so BIG! I swear part of this process makes your rational brain step aside for all the hormones...

As of today our 4 little eggs are still growing. Still, because of some genetic complications it is a bit of a long shot. If it was meant to be we will complain about our 2ww together! If not, I'll shift my thought and prayers to you and yours!

Enjoy your WE!!

Tex

ps - The big shot isn't that big of a deal - just relax the muscle, take a deep breath and think about the possibilities!

I won't worry you telling you about the shots you will get later! Ouch (Sorry to complain but my butt is killing me!) Course I did not put ice on it like the ladies on the board recommended...

ER Today

Post by Ange »

Hi Tex,

Had my ER today. They retrieved 11 and will call me tomorrow with the stats and time for my ET on Tuesday. Dr. seemed to think 3-5 would do well. Fingers crossed. I feel fine, just bloated which is a result of all the meds. Tonight I start the progesterone shots which I'm sure you were referring to 'pain in the butt'. I hope your 4 are still doing well!

I completely agree, when it comes to this stuff, intellect takes a back seat and the emotional feelings and reactions prevail.

Have a great weekend.

Well, While making dinner tonight I sliced the top of my right right finger off - so excuse my typing! Ouch! At least I'm not thinking about my butt! (which by the way is way better today). Be sure and ice yours for a few minutes before your first shot...I will do that tonight!

Hey - i joined the Dec - Jan IVF chat room. We are well behind the crew there. They started connecting in October. Wish I had been on the ball then. I guess i did not realize how much I needed a few friends to talk to. My DH and I ahev not go public with our little event here - so we avoid any potential pity parties, but then again there is no support eitehr.

Sorry to hear about the bloating. I had a little of taht mysef. I even put on 3 pounds the month I did stim. Wish the doc had told me to expect that! I umderstand from reading that isn't that uncommon. Between taht and the bloating I feel quite sexy

I can't wait to hear how your fertilization went! 11 is great! I am envious! Let me knwo when you hear. Last I heard of my 4 are still hangign in there. Unfortunately I will go in for ET W/o them tellign me if any made it. It is a 50/50 chacnce I'll be there with gown on (and nothing else) and they will tell me there is nothign to implant. Now that sucks. Anyway - at least our chat gives me somone else to cheer for.

Talk with you soon! Tex

Hi Tex,

I just typed a reply to you and it disappeared. So sorry to hear about your finger. That'll teach you to cook on Saturday nights.

Try and stay positive for your visit next week, I know it's hard not to get discouraged. After my 2nd failed IUI, it was tough being positive. I'm rooting for you!

So how do I join the Dec. - Jan IVF chat room? I searched the site here and couldn't find it. Pretty pathetic for a technology professional.

Take care,
