Hi Girls,

I realize I have really been away from the board for quite awhile and have no real excuse except that I really enjoy spending time with our little monkey, Siena. She's 8 months old and has gotten quite independent. She does not crawl, but instead she rolls to where she needs to go. It's quite funny to watch. Things are going well and she loves to eat her fruits and vegetables. We have not introduced any meat yet. She's a little over 20 lbs and getting harder to cart around in the infant seat so I end up holding her much more when taking her in and out of the car. She rode in the shopping cart seat for the first time last week and it made her look so old to me.

DH & I am considering having another baby. At my age, I thought it will probably be sooner than later. We have one frozen blast from the first ivf treatment. Is anyone familiar with this procedure? I may post this on the General Forum to check for feedback.

Glad to see everyone is getting along well. If anyone else is planning on trying a cycle early next year, I will probably be joining you.

Hi Ladies,

It's been a while since I posted. Our house has been under renovations and my Dad has been Diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer and it has thrown our family for loop to say the least.

Well I am glad everyone is doing well and all of your babies are progressing so nicely! Isn't it amazing how fast time has gone by? Meagan is almost 11 months old, has 7 teeth, has been crawling for a month now and is just a wonderful little angel. She has such a sweet personality. I am still at home with her and that will be the plan for a while. I feel very fortunate to be able to stay home and raise her.

We will be trying IVF again soon. We have a consultation with our Specialist next Wednesday to get testing underway so we can get the insurance approval. If all goes well then we should be cycling again in January or February next year.

isnt it great to hear that babies are growing and growing
arent we the proudest mums on the planet.

Well Paris is now 8mnths 1 week , she is learning to stand on her own, boy does she cause havoc in the house, racking things down, trying to fit where she doesnt fit, throwing things on the floor .........................the list is endless.

Her first teeth are just about to surface now.

Can't believe how long it is since I last posted - so much seems to happen, but I hate taking myself away from Amelia for even a moment.

She has 4 teeth now and is progressing so well - she stands with support - the health visitor thinks she'll be walking before long - EEK, better watch out for the Christmas Tree.

It's great catching up with everyone's news - you all seem to be enjoying motherhood as much as me.

Anyway, love to you all and good luck with everything.

I can't thank you all enough for your encouragment, support and kindness - it's people like you guys that make this so much easier to handle.

Hi girls,
Like most of you, it's been aaaaages since i was here.
I really don't know where the days go anymore.
Kady will be 6 months old next Friday and is already so full of mischief. Her latest trick is when i'm feeding her, she will come off the breast and look up at me with the hugest grin, latch back on, bite me hard and yank herself off almost taking my nipple off with her, then be in fits of laughter when i'm squealing. She finds people in pain absolutely hysterical. She also grabs a handfull of my hair and starts swinging her arm about and laughs when i make painfull noises. She's so cheeky.

Weaning is going great, she's such a starver, at 5 1/2 months she's already on a full tin of dinner and a full tin of pudding twice a day and the breast whenever she wants, she loves her food and her wee face just lights up and she gets all excited when she sees me bring her dinner out, she certainly takes after her daddy with her appetite. She just turned 5 months when i last got her weighed and she was just under 17lbs, our 15 month old nephew is only about 3 or 4lbs heavier than her, so she's also taking her size after her daddy. A lot of people actually think she's a lot older than she is coz she's so big and strong.

I was due back at work at the end of October and had a few conversations with my area manager a couple of weeks before i was due back. I wanted a transfer to the store in my town and said i'd need to work my 20 hours round Michael's shifts which would mostly be mornings. He eventually said he couldn't get me a transfer to my town. I work in the next town (about 20 miles away) which has 2 stores and he also said with me wanting morning shifts i would have to move out of my store into the other. I don't drive so get the bus to work, it's an hour each way, i told him if i was to do that the shifts i needed would be 9am-1pm so that i'm back home in time for Michael starting work. After working it out he got back to me and said the best he could offer was 10am-2pm 5 days a week. Michael wasn't happy, he talked to the tax credit people, worked out our finances and said we wouldn't be any better off if i returned what with bus fares in the mornings and petrol money in the afternoons (as he'd have to come through and pick me up) so he told me to just hand in my notice.
So i'm now officially a housewife and stay at home mum and loving every minute of it. Just the thought of returning to work and leaving Kady had me in tears, so i'm very happy now.

Can you believe it's nearly Christmas already, this is going to be our best christmas ever, we have waited so long for this. No doubt everyone here is feeling exactly the same as us.
I bought Kady a wee Santa dress and hat and going to take some photos of her in it this weekend and get personalised Christmas cards made for the family. Is anyone else doing this? Asdas's online photo site is running a special offer on photo cards, 20 for £5 which is dirt cheap compared to a lot of other sites i've been pricing up, so if anyone else is interested in doing this the offer finishes at the end of this month.

Well, i think i've rambled on long enough.

Sher8, Kady is the result from FET, so it does work, our embies weren't blasts though. Mine was a natural FET, absolutely no drugs whatsoever, i just had to get bloods done every other day from day 10 until they found the surge then 2 days later they popped the embies in. It was so simple, it felt a slightly more "normal" way of getting pregnant than going through the full treatment and also less stressfull coz i didn't have to worry about any drugs.

Hi everyone

Its great to hear how all the babies are doing. They all sound to be doing really well.

Jenna is now crawling and cruising the furniture. She moves so fast as well. The poor cats are begining to realise they cant sleep in peace as they used to do!

Ive recently handed my notice in at work. A bit scary, but I know its for the best. I certainly wont miss it. Im enjoying doing all the baby stuff such as mother and baby groups. Its just going so quick though! Jenna's 10 months old today!

We were watching the IVF programme by Robert Winston last week. It did bring it all back. My DH was sat here in tears saying how happy he was that we had Jenna. He didnt used to be so emotional. I think becoming a Dad has made him like this!

It sounds like a few of us are considering trying IVF again. I dont think we will. We were lucky that our 1st IVF was on the NHS. We would have to go private to try again. We dont have any frozen embies so we would be looking at spending 3 or 4 thousand. While we could afford one treatment, I think I am scared that if it fails I would want to keep going. I feel we were so lucky for our treatment to work first time and that we wouldnt be as lucky next time. My DH says he is happy with just one. He was also saying yesterday that if treatment failed next time, it would hit him harder because he now knows what its like to have a child and he would be mourning the loss of a 2nd (If that makes sense?) What do others feel?

I guess we're all so busy with our little ones that we dont get time to post here any more!
Ryan is walking now and into everything! He has no fear and will crawl off anything. Its hard work keeping up with him and hes so strong its a fight just to dress him.
I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year but in all honesty, I've bought Abby loads and Ryan very little. We tend to buy Ryan things all year as and when he needs them and his birthday is so close to Christmas it just seems a waste. We put our Christmas tree up last weekend and have built a wall round it with his toybox and walker etc, luckily so far he isnt big enough to climb over and get the tree, but the first thing he does when we come downstairs in the morning is point excitedly and say ' tee ' (meaning tree!)
He now says a few words, like mama, dada, cat, hot and tree, and he waves bye bye, claps hands and if you sing row your boat he starts rocking back and forth! Its so cute! I must say, the baby stage went so fast and i do really miss it. Although Ryans lovely at this age hes much harder work and wont just sit and cuddle anymore. If i say mummy love he puts his head on my shoulders, says ahh and jumps back down again!
I hate to say it but i'm really broody now and want another baby, but I'm not sure if i want this toddler part again, we're going to think about it over Christmas and see which way we're gonna go as I've got 5 frosties in the freezer and cant bear the thought of telling the clinic to let them perish.

Hi girls,
How's everyone doing? Are you all ready for Christmas?
This is the first year we have been so organised, we have all our presents bought and wrapped already, usually we are still wrapping on Christmas eve. Our tree and decorations went up on the 1st and it looks gorgeous, just like a santa's grotto, don't think we have a spare space on walls or ceilings. Kady just loves all the lights and tinsel etc. Her wee face just lights up when she sees them.
We have been saying for months that we weren't getting Kady much this year as she will be too little to understand what's going on but when it came to wrapping the pressies we realised we have went way overboard with her pressies, we just kept getting little bits and pieces whenever we went shopping and it's really mounted up.
We have spent more than double the amount we usually spend on pressies for family and friends, we bought everyone the usual gifts from us and also a little personalised gift like a glass or mug saying Auntie so and so and Uncle so and so etc from Kady, we decided this is the only year we will be doing this coz there was about 16 of them, just glad we didn't buy them all in one go
What's everyone doing for Christmas? We usually have family over or go to family for dinner but this year we have decided to just have dinner ourselves as it's our first Christmas with Kady, we will do our usual rounds in the morning though.
She's been teething since about 12 weeks and still hasn't got one through yet, you can see a little white line on her gum but it hasn't broken through yet, so i think it might be here for christmas.
She'll be 7 months on Boxing Day.
Is it normal for them to hate being on their tummy? She does, she won't roll over on it and when i give her some tummy time she gets so frustrated and just cries.
One last question before i go. In the first couple months whenever i expressed a bottle for Kady she would gulp it down, now she won't touch it, Michael has tried, his mam has tried, we've tried different bottles, cups etc, she'll bite down on them and just get a little dribble but won't drink from anything but the breast. Michael's mam is itching to have her for an overnight stay and it would be nice for us to have a proper night out instead of only a couple of hours. She will eat her solids fine from her Granny but won't touch the milk, does anyone have any tips on what else i can do?
I think i'd better go now as i've rambled on enough.

Your house must look amazing with all that xmas decor!
Just to help with your questions if I can.
Some friends from antenatal class have also had problems with their babies hating been on their tummies. I think it just depends on the individual and is nothing to worry about. (make the most of it while Kady isnt mobile yet. we havent put our xmas decor up yet, I think Jenna will just pull it down. Its going to be fun! )

We had the same problem with Jenna re feeding. We managed in the early months with expressed milk from a bottle. I dont know if we also left it too long inbetween giving bottles, but she also completely refused unless she could take it from me. I used to feel that I would never get away! we stopped bothering with bottles and just kept trying with a cup (Its very easy to drink from, and is not a non-spill one). I dont know if she just got used to it (Giving water from it every mealtime) but she did eventually take to it. Now she happily drinks all her milk from it if nec, but always spits her water back out! You could also try a doidy cup (NCT sell them) They are slanted cups which are meant to be good and another tip I found, make sure you let someone else give her milk from cup/bottle and stay out of the way. Jenna would always play up if I was around and I would always then give in!

Dont know if this is any help (or if you have probably tried all this anyway) but hopefully it will get better soon!

Hiya Kim,
Thanks for the advice. I think i also left it too long between feeds with bottles, she was fine in the beginning but when she was going through a big growth spurt it got quite hard to express as she was constantly on the breast and there wasn't much left to express, so breast was just easier.
I'm never in the same room when someone has tried giving her a bottle, she's just not interested in the milk in it, just likes chewing the teat.
I think we will just try and persavere with her cup, she won't take any at all when it's lid is on but will take a few sips when it's off.
Michael likes to have a bottle of lager at night when he gets home from work, Kady was on his knee the other night when he was having one and wanted his bottle, so he let her hold an empty one, she was trying to drink out of it, it was so funny. She then lost total interest in it when she saw her daddy's full one, dropped the empty one and kept lunging to grab his lager. I could always give her her milk in a lager bottle

Hi all, I too can't believe the gap between visits but like Little P I can't bear to be away from Emily for a second. She is 8 months 3 weeks old now and is into everything. She's been crawling for a month or so (end of any peace) but still no teeth just lots of pain! I don't believe it - shes crying again - my DH is goiing in to see to her but she'll need her mummy I'm sure so I'll better log off and get von here again soon

Wow - Happy New Year everyone!!!

GOSH it is ages since I found the time to come here, but life is just so wonderful I can't bear wasting any of it. Not to mention the fact that when Amelia is asleep all those household chores beckon me!!!

She is an absolute joy and now has 6 full teeth and a couple that are definitely on their way. She is almost standing on her own and loves climbing up me and DH and holding on for dear life - this is such fun. If I leave the room to go to the kitchen, there is a lovely little shadow following me round, thank goodness for stairgates!!!

Christmas was the best ever - it was so amazing having her there and it took us to the New Year to finally finish opening all her presents. I thought I was spoilt!!!

I can't believe that Amelia is going to be 10 months old in a couple of days. She still won't drink anything other than milk - all the Health Visitor's keep saying is she must drink water during the day, but hey if she doesn't want it then I guess that's that really - any ideas anyone?

Swimming starts again on Friday - 3 weeks off have been great, although I think she might be screaming come the end of the first lesson.

Anyway, hope that you are all doing ok and the little ones are keeping you on your toes - I know it's difficult finding time, but when you do it's so great to hear all your updates.

Hello Ladies
Wonderful to see everyone giving updates.
Joey has 2 teeth and another 2 coming through. He is now 30 inches tall and 20 pounds 15 ounces.
He has taken a few steps but not too many, he mostly just walks around the furniture.
At the present moment he is throwing cherrios to the dogs., He thinks he is very funny.
the new thing at the moment is he has started clapping. It is oh so very cute.
We are thinking of trying again in the begining of June.
