Hi Ladies, I am once again very behind on this thread. I go away for one day and I miss so much!

Angie; I am so sorry for you and DH. You seem so strong! Keep that up!

Bec- 10 that is a wonderful number. I am really pulling for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers! The weather here has been crazy. One day freezing the next day warm. I dont know...... my whole family should be sick in no time!

Aunty, Glad you had a nice time at your party. Saw the pics on Myspace. Looked like fun,

Carolyn, Almost there. YOu are in my thoughts. BFP to you!

Well, as for me just waiting for AF. Should be here in another week and then I start the pill. Finished Christmas Shopping yesterday! YIPEE. I am almost done wrapping too. It is a relief to be done with this. I can just sit back and enjoy the holidays. So all I am doing is just waiting like usual.

I will write more personals later once I get more caught up! Back to work I go,

Erin

Erin--Done with Christmas Shopping and Wrapping? I'm soooo jealous. I'm such a procrastinator about that. I'm one of the fools always doing it on Dec 23rd even though I swear every year I won't do that again next year. Oh well, such is life.

Bec--Congrats on your fertilization. Isn't it a relief to have that part over with? Sit back and relax now!

I have a quick question (sorry for those on the Nov thread who already read my post over there--just ignore this!). I had a chemical positive last month that obviously was really a BFN. When we thought it was a positive, my doctor put me on prenatals and I've been still taking them even though I'm not pregnant (I hate typing that sentence!!!)

I figure they're just vitamins, so they probably help, right? Or do you think I should stop taking them? I'll ask my doctor's office next time I'm in there, but thought I'd check with the experts first :o

Hi Ladies

Meg I was advised to take prenatal vitamins prior to starting ivf so if it is a complete vitamin for pregnancy i would continue to take them.

Sonia hope you got on better today.

Bec that is great news, really pleased for you, best of luck with ET.

Carolyn i am thinking of you and best of luck tommorow. hoping you are in for a good surprise.

SS your family are in my thoughts.

Tex hope et wet ok.

As for me my AF is in full flow with nice pain with it. My endo is certainally flared up at the moment. I have a meeting with My endo gyne tommorow to discuss what he is going to do if anything. he probably will not op as i had my last lap done in spring of this year.

Take care everyone

Meg, Prenatal Vits are very similar to multi-vits it's just that they have more of the essentials, like 2x has much follic acid. I think that you should be fine taking the prenatal vits because most doctors suggest that when trying have a baby you should increase intake of essential vits.

There are many websites that talk about all of this. Again though, I don't see a problem with it. If however you are worried, then switch to a multi-vit, like One a Day Womans' Health, and eat more foods that contain protein, iron, and folic acid. Again there are tons of websites that can tell you exactly what you should eat when trying to concieve. (Even if we are all doing techno sex, we are still trying to concieve!)

Of course all of this is jmo. Take care

Meg, I am on prenatals as well. It is good to be on them before you do treatments. It is just a vitiam and if you are going to do another attempt they are going to want you on them. Also I have friends that are not pregnant and dont plan on getting pregnant anytime soon who take prenatals because they are good for your hair and nails. Whatever you feel comfortable with doing. Hope this helps!

As for my shopping... this is the first year I was on the ball with it. I found it helpful to keep my mind off the waiting game that I am playing for my first round of IVF. SO I doubt this will ever happen again! HAHA!

Ange,
I'm sorry about your BFN. ((hugs)) It's hard to find words to make things better. Stay strong and do something nice for yourself.

Bec,
Congrats on 10! Your best number yet, Yeah!! :D

Meg,
I have been taking prenatals and extra folic acid for over 6 months now. I started a couple months before my first IVF cycle. I read in TCC books that it's a good idea to take prenatal vit several months before TCC. I'm sure it can't hurt.

Sassy,
How are you feeling today? Less painful, I hope.

Well, I'm off to the Post office, DMV and to do Christmas shopping. Image

Sonya, your right sweetie, 4 is better then none, sometimes less is more! You rest now and let DH take care of you. Those 4 will be fertilized and multiplying so they can go back home where it's safe and warm.

hugs to you sweetie

hi ladies just got back from hospital there is good news and bad. The doc said he doesnt want me to do IUI but we can get another go at IVF for free the goverment has brought it out that you gt 2 gos free on the NHS
The only thing is it wnt be until March, April time and he said due to us trying for 5 years our chances are less than they would be if we had only been trying for 3 years. Also there are no drugs involved in the second try they work with your natural cycle.
I kinda feel a bit cheeky being on this thread now as we arent gonna start till March. But i have got to know you ladies and had so much support over the past few month i dnt want to leave. Hope you dnt mind me sticking with this thread.
I dnt know how to feel at the min we waited for 45mins before we got seen just to get told that they cnt start anything yet. He has told me to take folic acid from now until then and for me and DH to take multi-vitims any recommendations ?

sorry its all about me will do personals later just a bit depressed at min gonna go and relax in a nice hot bath

Mom20, hang in there sweetie! As for a mulit-vit for you, I say take One a day for Women, but take the one that reduces stress. I have been taking that one and I am amazed at how much calmer I am, especially through all of this. Also like I told Meg, lookup on the internet as to what foods will give you the extra follic, iron, and protien you need. I know asparagus is one of them it has both folic and iron. You are pretty much safe eating any green veggies, they have more nutrients. Try to buy fresh if you can, otherwise frozen; canned veggies lose most of thier nutrients through processing and in fact lose all or most of the folic through processing. Also, fish is a great source of protien and it's light on the calories. You should be eating citrus friuts too, because vit C is very important in keeping the immune system in working order, you don't want to me sick when March/April rolls around.

We are more then happy to have you sticking around here, we need all the love and support we can get.
