Flying in the First Trimester

Post by suzhan »

I'd always thought this was fine and that you just had to avoid the last month. Now it seems I'm reading a lot about waiting until the 2nd trimester to fly and that it is not really that great to fly in the first trimester! Eeks - I told DH it was okay (he was not too sure) and we have tickets to fly 3.5 hours in a few weeks. Anyone else fly in the first trimester? I'd never do anything to jeopardize this pregnancy but I truly thought it was completely safe.

Hey Suzhan.

I flew back home when 8 weeks pregnant. My doc said there was no problem at all, she said it was better than the car. All went fine, but i did feel sick in the plane, which never happens to me!!
I lost my baby at 12 weeks, but it has nothing to do with the flying...

The only thing I was forbidden was to fly if I had OHSS (I was suppose to fly before, but had to postpone my flight because of OHSS)

Hope it helps
