Baby 1 week behind, need encouragement....

Post by vicky77 »

Hey girls, I am very sad today, can't stop crying. I just had my second US and my baby is one week smaller than he should, he was 6w and I am 7w2d, there was a very mild heartbeat too, so I don't know what to do. My DH says I should stay positive that he is still alive since HB is there and it might only be he implanted later, but I have read so many stories of cases like this not turning right that I can't stop crying. RE says we have 50/50 chance, that he wants to see us again in 1 week for another US, so we'll see what happens.......
Do any of you have any encouraging stories for me today?

Vicky,

At my 6 week sono, my baby was measuring a week behind. The doctor told me to expect a m/c but to come back in a week and we'd do another sono.

At the 7 week sono, we saw identical twins! The egg had spilt and implanted late, which explained the small size. We just weren't able to see both of them the week before.

Even now, they measure a few days behind my actual dates but the doctor says not to worry as that's normal.

I know it will be a very long week until your next scan but try to remain positive. Your baby, like mine, could just be a slow starter.

Go am find a sunny spot on the beach and lay down. Maybe that little one needs a little sunshine! We are praying hard for you. I know how hard it can be to wait. Please stay strong and enjoy your time with the little one. Talk to it, I do! I believe that it sooths them and gives them something to listen to. I have even given my beanie a nickname (I did this with each of my boys and their nickname stuck later too). Danny was Boo Boo and Christian was Bubba and this one is Little Bit. They are silly, but I feel closer and more real than if I didn't give it a name. I don't know if this really helped me keep the boys or even this little one, but I feel better. I started talking to Little Bit right after they put it back in and somehow we beat the odds and it implanted. Just keep you spirits up and check in once in a while!

Today I feel like almost al my "pregnancy symptoms" are gone, no more sore boobs, no more veins in my boobs, belly less distended......it looks like I definetly lost the baby, I am so sad. I called the RE's office to see if I could do the next US before so I can finally have a closure...
But I want a baby so much, that I would like to start again as soon as possible, does any of you know how much you have to wait to start again after a miscarriage??
Thanks to everybody for your support.......

Vicky,

It looks like we were posting at the same time. I am so sorry this is happening to you. Please don't lose all hope. Pregnancy symptoms come and go. I hardly had any so far. My boobs started out really sore but now are pretty close to normal again. I can't imaging the pain you are feeling but I agree that you should definately try to push up your appointment if you can. Let us know how you do. I will be praying for you.

I pray you will have a surprise when you go the u/s. As far as how long to wait, most RE prefer you have at least 2 periods before they will consider cycling you again. I peersonally found a need for the breaks between my m/c just to get my head around it. I am still holding out hope for you.

Vicky,

If they do not move your scan up, we will have a scan together. Hang in there, there is always hope and miracles happen everyday!

On another note, I hope the weather stays nice for the New Years weekend. I will be flying to Boca Raton to visit with my uncle since he is ill. I want to enjoy some warm weather!
