Hi Again Everyone!

Angellica - I just have to say that your PMA and your optimism is such a wonderful gift to us all here. I am going to try to be more like that. Now everytime I have a negative thought I will try to stop it right away and say your affirmation. My favorite saying is "Faith precedes the miracle" I'm not too sure exactly where it came from but I heard it once and it stuck in my head ever since. When I am really down I say that to myself and it always helps. I hope your mom is ok. Oh and Happy Birthday!!!!!!! I'm sure it is going to be a great one!

Racheal - Thank you for your prayers and kind words. I am also scrambling to get everything done for the holidays. I finally got out my cards now I just have to wrap the rest of my presents and clean up my house and I should be good to go.

Kim - How did your U/S go today? Let us know. Did the bleeding stop?

Ellie - How are you doing? I hope you are feeling well.

Cowgirl, Thook, Sita - We have not heard from you in a few days. I hope all is well with you all. Please keep in touch. Thook - How is that nasty cold you had? Hopefully you are feeling better.

All my best to everyone,

Nance

buckeygal- I know how scary the spotting thing can be! Even though the doc tells me not to worry, I do anyways!

Nictor- Welcome and Big Congrats.
Racheal-I am glad you are in the Christmas spirts as a new Mommy and I hope you Uncle feels better and you get to see him.

Nance- good luck on your nuchal scan and let us know how it turns out. :-)

Vicky- I hope that PMA is still prevailing :-)

Angellica- Good luck on the scan and the biopsy! You will be in my prayers.

As for me I am doing well. I had an ultra sound yesterday but the tech was not allowed to tell me anything. It was so agravating and the OB clinic is going to hear about it on my next appointment! It wasn't the techs fault but a pissing contest between radiology where they do some scans and OB were they do others. One thing that did freak me out was the baby HB was 143 and it was very active. But on all my other scans and dopplers it was right at 160. I did do some research online and they say after the 12 week it can go down. And since it is still in acceptable range I am trying not to worry. Does anyone know anything about this? My next appt. is not until the 3rd of January.

Take care all,
Cowgirl

Hi girls,

It's nice to see some familiar names here!

I was originally on the Oct buddies thread, but then disappeared for awhile because I have been so sick. I'm sorry to say that along with my sickness came an unpleasant attitude and I did not want to spread it around here :? ...but I am now getting one or two non-sick days per week so things are starting to look up a little.

I am 12 weeks today and have only had one U/S so far so I am anxious to go back to the RE on Tuesday for the next one. We've had one very unpleasant experience with an OB, so now we're searching for another. I have an apt with one that came recommended from another mom of twins next week.

Good luck to all and I hope to pop back in here more often!

Hi gals,

Wow! A lot has happened.

First of all...Vicky...are you still chanting affirmations? Just checking! "My baby is healthy...." Keep thinking it! :) Actually, the day I had my first blood test to see if I was actually preggers, I chanted the whole way to the lab...I had to have sounded ridiculous, but hey--it worked! I'm still praying for you! [By the way...my boobs haven't hurt for a while now...]

Nance--Good luck at your nuchal tomorrow. I hope you get some good pics! I love your idea about buying the baby a gift when you hit 12 weeks. I'm going to head to Baby's R Us this weekend...just to look around and get ideas!

Brit--Congrats Congrats Congrats! It sounds like you've been through a lot...enjoy this happy time!

Angelica--Good luck to you! A lot going on for you...only good things on your b-day!

Cowgirl--From what I've heard, your heartbeat stll sounds good. Maybe call your doc if you're worried? Sorry to hear the lab/clinic don't seem to get along...I'd definitely give them a piece of my mind!

ellie--glad to hear you're feeling better! Keep taking care of yourself!

I hope I didn't miss anyone...if so, I'm sorry!

As for me...I had my U/S today. All looks good! My two babies have strong heartbeats and they were wiggling and kicking around. My DH was amazed! As for the spotting, I haven't had any since Sunday (Thank goodness!). My RE said it was nothing to worry about. I only have one more appt. with the RE next week, and then I graduate! Yeah! I'm still weaning off meds, and now I'm just waiting for nausea to stop. Here's to hoping!

Thanks for everyone's words of encouragement. What a journey we've been through!

Kim, I so happy to hear that your U/S went well. You must be so excited. Thank you for the well wishes. I am sure my scan is going to be great tomorrow. I am so looking foward to seeing my beannie.

Cowgirl - I am sorry I really do not know too much about heartbeats. My Dr. does not even tell me what my beannie's heartbeat is he just said it looks good. Whatever that means. I have read that they do decrease some after the 1st trimester and being it is in the normal range I would try not to worry that much (I know, how ironic, me telling someone not to worry when I can win the "worrier of the year" award) I'm not sure if you have this but my health insurance comes with a special program for pregnant women where they give you a 24 hour registered nurse hotline that you can call and ask any question. Maybe if your insurance has this you can call and ask them what they think. Just a suggestion.

As for me I have a crazy (and slightly grosse) question for you ladies. And I appologize in advance if this falls under the category of TMI. I have had IBS for many years. Now that I am pregnant I find that I am very constipated all the time. I am trying to eat alot of fiber and drink a lot of water but I am afraid that all of the straining I am doing is hurting the baby in some way. I know that they tell you not to strain so you do not get hemmoroids (sorry can't spell) which I really would not like but I'll live with it if it happens. I am just scared that I am hurting the baby. I've looked it up online and so far everything I read said that it is not dangerous so that makes me feel better but I am still a little concerned. Does anyone else have this problem.

Thanks for the advice.

xoxo

Hey Nance,

Oh, girl, I'm constipated almost daily! If you're having that much trouble...you might want to try a suppository? I know...gross...but you'd probably end up feeling a whole lot better!

According to the books I"m reading....pregnant women release a hormone called relaxin--which relaxes our bowels. The purpose is to slow our digestion of food so the baby gets what it needs. This "slow down" makes us constipated. Wow, I sound like a book, huh?

Anyway, good luck. I don't think you're going to hurt your baby. However, I don't like the sound of hemorroids. Ick.

Good luck tomorrow!

Hi Kim,

Thank you for the reply. It made me feel better. I will speak to my Dr. about it at my next appointment. I'm hoping that once I am off the progesterone and I get the ok to exercise a little it would get better. Unitl then I will just drown myself in water and prune juice.

Have a great evening!

xoxo

nance- ask about a stool softener... there are actually prenatals that have that in them.. also drink all the nasty prunjuice and eat lots of fruit and veggies.... i've also included metamucil how ever it's spelled..... i'l going to try benafiber next after i run out.... and pray that you do not become anemic... the iron pills are so so so much worse and you'll be backed up for weeks.... also try and just get in a daily walk, susposed to help move things along..
as for hurting the baby i do not think that it can hurt.... but when you go to push the baby out, you use the same muscles.... in fact they tell you to push like a BM.... I think that as long as your cervix is closed, you are ok... and i agree hemoriods are not good things, and try your hardest to avoid them, because they tend to get worse as you get further along...

sorry for the long long reply... i too have been battling the same thing... i have had the same problem with each of my pregnancies

take care

Oh me too, me too! I used to have the runs constantly, now it's the opposite....constipation and horrible, terrible gas pains.

I called the doctor and spoke with a nurse who said I could take gas-x for the gas pains and colace (stool softner). I also have to increase my water intake - because of my nausea, I'm having a really hard time drinking water all day. But if you eat more fiber or take fiber supplements and don't drink water then it hurts even worse.

I sent dh to the store yesterday and am trying to eat more fruit...which worked today.

Sounds like we are all in the same boat!

Angelica - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I know everything will turn out okay. I hope you have at least some preliminary information. Good Luck!

Vicky - Good for you! Believe me when I say they are listening! Only a few more days before we both get some more information. I am praying hard for your little one.

Nicola - I have really missed you! I am so glad you are doing well. Welcome to the other side of worries! It seems like everything we have been through was just a test and now we all really start to worry.

Cowgirlclass - I know your little one is just fine. The OB would have told you if there was anything to worry about. My last u/s showed a decrease in the heartrate as well, but they thought it was due to all the meds. I hope you get more answers from the ob than you did from the u/s tech.

As for us, we had some good news, my uncle is doing a little better. They are sending him home for a while. He told me last night that he is at peace with what is happening and then lectured me on getting all upset. He said he would do his best to hang on until the baby gets hear. I know this is not very likely, but it made me feel better. He is such a champ. I really love him and wish I was closer. My OB canceled my flight t Florida though. She told us yesterday that she prefers I do not travel at all during the pregnancy. She said if things got worse with my uncle, she would consider at that time, but not now. She is orried about the asthma and the blood clotting problems I have been having since I would not be close to anyone that has my history. So I am grounded again. My uncle laughed at me when I told him and said he had already grounded me! On a brighter note, I started my Christmas shopping and have managed to leave the mall with nothing! They did not have a single toy that the boys asked for! Tonight I have to teach a leaders class for my cub scout parents and so I will have to wait for Friday to try again. I never wait this long to do the shopping. I have just been so very tired for the last three months that I haven't done antything! Oh well, I have joined the crazy last minute shoppers. I might even have to turn into Arnold and get my sons the last toy at any cost! I hope everyone is well.
