FHR slowing between 1st and 2nd trimester?

Post by cowgirlclass »

Of course I am a worry wart and I never asked these types of questions during the pregnacy of my other two children but I am watching this one so close everything raises flags! :-(

Okay during my several exams previously including my nuchal scan 2 weeks ago, the baby's FHR has been about 160. On an US done at 13w1d it was 143 even though the baby was awake and moving. I did find one article saying the FHR is high in the first trimester while all the organs are being created and then slows and since it is still in a good range I am trying not to worry. I just wish I could find more articles or hear more experences.

Has this happend to anyone else?

Thanks,
Cowgirl

Thanks for the response JustinesBaby. But did Sophies HB start out higher and then go down? That is the part that has me worried. Just two weeks ago it was 160. It also doesn't help that I have a close friend that her babies HB stopped at week 14 :-(.

Thank you,
Cowgirl

Dont Worry

Post by praying »

Hi Cowgirl,

Mine was in 160s and 150 in the 1st trim. It was in 130s during my 22nd week U/S(the baby seemed pretty active during the U/S), still the Dr did not even worry a bit and now it is in 140s constantly in my 3 trim. I am in my 31st week and Dr said it was quite normal as long it is above 120. So dont worry too much and take it easy. I heard it slows down a bit when the baby starts growing.
