Baby 1 week behind, need encouragement....

They called me from the clinic and told me they cannot move up the scan, they have to wait 7-10 days from the previous one to make sure that what they see is real. They also told me that I have to wait 2 menstrual cycles to start again if this doesn't go well........This is so frustrating.....

Vicky: I just found this thread this morning and I am so sorry to hear that you have to go through this. I have heard that preg symptoms to come and go. I'm only 5 weeks, but mine def. come and go. My sister is pregnant now with her 3rd child and she says her symptoms often come and go. Please don't assume you miscarried. I know it must be hell right now. I wish your clinic would let you come in early. I am praying for you that everything turns out okay. Laura's story was encouraging. Weren't your betas really strong as I remember??

Hi Cinders, yes my betas were beautiful, by my last US was not, it showed that the baby was one week delayed and the heartbeat was just a "flicker" that is what they said. So I have to go back on Monday to see what is going on........

Hi Vicky

I was so sad to read how you were feeling. Reading your posts on Nov buddies and on this side you have been an inspiration to me on the days I have been feeling down and uncertain by being so excited and so positive, just try to hang on to that until next week.

As for varying symptoms, mine are all over the place.

We had our 7 week scan on Monday and everything looks good with our little one, yet over the last couple of days I've had my symptoms come and go.

Try not to lose heart.

Vicky: I hope that Monday turns out to be positive news...maybe you'll be like Laura with twins!! I will be thinking of you and hoping this week goes by really quick for you. Can you go in to the clinic and get your HCG checked to see if it's increasing? I wish they'd just let you go in early. How are you feeling today??

Vicky, I'm so sorry to hear your news...
I hope everything turns out to be ok. I just read an article that said that the measurement they do at this early stage is +-5 days accurate. My scan also showed 3 days difference from the actual baby age. Please stay positive! Stress is not good for the baby. What was the heart rate?

Cinders, I thought about having HCG repeated too, but they didn't even mention it, so I wondered it must be for a reason.....so I guess I will have to wait....

KF' 06, old friend, we've been together since the beginnig in all this, it was really nice to see your post....They didn't give me the heart rate, they just said it was low, like a "flicker", don't know exactly what they mean by that. Hope everything turns ok with you too!!!!

I havent got many stories of encouragement but you sound in turmoil - and it's no wonder. There's another site which could help you find some words of encouragement it's fertilityfriends.co.uk, I'm sure if you have a browse on there you'll find something. There's also a section where you can ask a midwife a question, maybe that might be a good starting point.
Please try not to stress about it, it's not over yet. Good luck, I hope everything turns out ok for you.

Vicky, please try to stay positive. I think the confusion is also with the pregnancy calculations. If I calculate my preg using LMP (what most doctors do), I'm 7w2d. If I go by retrieval date, I'm 7w4d. If I go by what my doc told me (he did in vitro), I'm 7w1d.

Meaning my baby is also behind although the doc didn't say anything. It's all very confusing. Don't panic ahead of the time. I really hope you will have good news on Mon.

Vicky, look what I found on radiology website:
"By vaginal probe high resolution scanning the embryo is first seen between 5.7-6.1 weeks, with heartbeat appearing at 6.2 weeks. Small normal embryos may not have a heartbeat. Embryo should be seen by High resolution scan at 18mm MSD, or 25 mm MSD by abdominal scan."
I hope it made you feel less worried.
