Looking for IVF-ers in France.

Post by KBinParis »

Hi, I am on my first IVF cycle, currently undergoing the 2ww. I just wondered if any of you other IVF-ers is located in Paris or somewhere in France?

Hi, didn't think that I'd get any responses back. Jaymee, anything different in the way they conduct at IVF in Australia? Congratulations on your success! Boy or girl?

Souris, I'm so sorry you m/c at 12 weeks, that must have been so hard. What was the reason? Why can't you do the next IVF in Dubai? Please consider acupuncture in addition to IVF. You should be able to find a decent acupuncturist in Dubai. I have to say, I am so happy to be doing this in France since everything is covered by the secu, including acupuncture treatments! I see Dr. Rolet at the American Hospital here in Paris. I test on 19 Dec. There were 4 embies of which three were transferred, 8, 5 and 4 cells respectively. The fourth with 4 cells was frozen. There was very little fragmentation and the doctore said that there is a 'forte possibilite' of it working, let's just see. I haven't stoped cramping ever since the ET. I am staying calm though, obsessing will not help and I can only do my best. On verra! Hugs,
KB.

Hey KB,

Only 7 days to go! dont worry about the cramping. On my last attempt, I was absolutely sure that it did not work, because it felt so much like AF was coming up. Same cramps and sore boobs as every single month!

We dont really know why i miscarried. I had my D&C in Dubai, and since the D&C I have not seen my doc. I have an appointment in 2 weeks and will ask her, although I am pretty sure that she wont be able to give me an answer..

The reason why I dont do IVF in Dubai is because we cannot afford it, and as it is free in France, I have to go there.
I wanted to do acupuncture but in my small city, they have never done it before for IVF ladies, and I dont want to be the guinea pig!!

Take care of yourself

My bbs are less tender and my cramps have reduced a lot so now I'm wondering if I'm pregnant at all. Worry when I'm in pain and worry when the pain is passing. The only constant is worry. Ha, ha! I'm tired of trying to interpret the signs but I can't help myself. Its like poking at your face when you know that you should just leave it alone.

I do understand you not wanting to be a test case for acupuncture in your hometown. I wish you could find out why you m/c but I do know that doctors in the Middle East are not the best. I lived there and so did my parents and finally, they had to leave since my mother got ill and could not get the medical care she needed.

5 days to go! I'm sure I'll get my period though since I have a very regular 28-day cycle. I find it impossible to believe that this has worked after 2.5 years of trying.

Hi KB

I have b/g twins. The ivf in Australia is very similar, my dr here did hcg injections twice in the 2ww and a couple of tweaks that I think really helped. I also did acuputure.

Good luck with the 2ww and I will be wishing you a BFP!

Hey J, I'm reassured to hear that you had acupuncture as well. When exactly in your cycle did you do this? I had one session a few days before ER to relax and get the energy flowing to my womb. I had another session 2 days after ET to create a favourable womb for my embies to implant. I feel like such a dork talking mumbo jumbo but I'm willing to try it if it works.

I am so bloated that people are already asking me if I'm pregnant. That's terrible especially if I'm not! I still have heavy, painful melon-like boobs and I've never been a big girl.

Wow, you have twins! That's great, two in one go. Has it been crazily busy since they were born or did you get a hang of things fast. I'm afraid I'm going to be so incompetent since kids never interested me and I didn't want any until a couple of years ago. Oh well, let's see what happens.

Hi KB

I had regular acuputure for a few months prior to my ivf but during my ivf I had one just before egg pickup and one straight away as close as I could to havign the babies put back in. I did lots of affimations as well and told myself I was having twins from the begining. Everytime I had a negitive thought I would chant a positive thought over and over until I felt positive again.

The first 4 weeks with the twins was insanely tiring. Abd then things got good but now they are 8 months and very active its tiring ( but fun) again.

How many embies have you had put back and are you a french native?

Wow Jay, you are such a great example of acupuncture working! I am so reassured. If I get an BFN on Tuesday then I'm going to do the same as you for the next cycle. I wanted to do acup right before and right after but didn't know how to manage it logistically since the acupuncturist is not close to the American Hospital. I'm going to ask her if she can come to my place though. When you refer to regular acupuncture before starting your cycle, how many times a month does that mean?

I'm not French. I'm of Indian origin but an Italian citizen for all intents and purposes. Are you French?

Earlier, I would have balked at the thought of twins but now the idea doesn't seem as scary. I'm older, hopefully wiser and we are in a position to comfortably support a four-member family. However, I would really like to move away from the craziness of the city if we have kids. There's not a lot of space for kids to run around within the city limits unless its at one of the parks. As an army brat, I grew up with lots of space to run around and we always felt safe. Our parents never had to worry about us on an army base. I want some semblace of that for my kid(s) even if it means moving out of the city into the country.

But, all that's in the future...hopefully :)

Where do you live in Australia? And if my questions aren't nosy enough, how old were you when you had your twins?

Hi Kb

My after transfer acuputure was the next day, so just try and get it as close as possible but dont stress. I think my regular acuputure was every 2 weeks. I was using it to see if i could fall pregnant naturally.

No i am not French either I am australian.

I live in Brisbane Queensland. Its nice and beachy and sunny. I was 26 when I concieved my twins, and dont worry I dont think you are nosey at all.
