I found this site today whilst very busy at work!!
My name is Lisa and I am married with a 5 year old daughter named Amy.
We have been trying for a second baby for 3 years now and we have just done our first ICSI cycle. Everything went as well as it could have. We had really good quality embryo and had 2 put back last Thurday (14th).
We have to do the test on Chritmas day. This Christmas is either going to be one of the best or worst of my life.
I just wanted to get some support ,as I play it quite cool to everybody around me (Husband, Mum etc..) but inside I am quite anxious. Am I hoping for too much for it to happen the first time? Cause it seems like it is a rareity from reading a few posts on this site. I hope it does anyway cause we just cant afford to do it again.
Well you are not alone. I have my test for my first ICSI cycle this Friday and I'm asking myself the same questions. I think it is going to impact my Christmas as well. If you would like to join a number of us cycling together look under General Forum/Dec-Jan buddies and vent and ask questions with the rest of us. The ladies there are what I would call experts. They have been a wonderful support channel for me. One way or another - we will all find a way to be there for each other.
Lisa and Tex,
It is not asking too much for it to work on the first try. Read a little further into the boards and you'll find many of the ladies have such luck, me being one of them. I completed my first IVF cycle with ICSI in Aug and am now 21 weeks pregnant with twin boys. It can happen!
Keep your heads up and your spirits high. You will learn so much on this board and get all of the support you desire. Good luck to you both Friday and on Christmas as you post. May you both get the gifts most dear to your hearts...a positive test!
Take care and Merry Christmas!
