Hi ladies! I was wondering what pharmacy you all got your Lupron from. Can you get it from a CVS or Walgreens? I went on the CVS website and you can order it online. My clinic ordered my Lupron through Scrafts, but they are refusing to run an authorization through my Ins. company because they know it won't be covered. :x I said I know that some Ins Co will pay cover Lupron. They said only if it's used for some kinds of cancer etc. not infertility. Except I'm sure my ins co won't ask what it's for. They have actually covered some of my meds, PIO, Estradiol, BCP. I don't think they asked what it's for. I don't know why it's so hard for them to just run an authorization to make sure. What's the big deal? I want to try to get my Lupron some place that will run an authorization, no Qs asked. I'm going broke. I just want to save where ever I can. Thanks. :)

Mia - I got my lupron through a small local pharmacy that my insurance works with but it's just here in So Cal. Sorry that's not much help. That's so stupid that they won't put through the authorization request. Can you call around to other pharmacies in the area? Can your clinic order from anywhere else? I know my clinic works with lots of pharmacies, maybe they can try somewhere else or at least point you in the right direction?

Good luck....

Mia -

Try Cosco. Their pharmacies don't tend to ask too many questions and ALWAYS ask me for my insurance card. They seem to run everything. I also had good luck with metro drugs out of New York. They are on the web and I recommend calling them. For whatever reason (and I know this sounds crazy) but you have to make sure you are ordering from the "cheaper" one. There are two in New York, one in downtown and then another location. Being from California I said it probably didn't matter as I wanted it mailed. Then the sweet thick accented woman asked if I was looking for the "cheaper" one and I of course I said YES! As if I knew what she was talking about... anyway they were great. All the meds came super fast and they always billed my insurance. I think just calling around is worth the time as I have found price variations at a lot of different retailers.

Good Luck - I wish I had the money to join you!

Mia, you want to hear something funny? I got my Lupron from Schrafts and my ins paid. Normally, my ins won't pay for anything infertility related but it paid for the Lupron and PIO. Everything else I have paid for. Go figure! :?

:? I don't get it. Maybe they are just in a grinchy mood or something. The girl on the phone said her supervisor doesn't want to run it because she knows what they will say. Doesn't make me want to give them my business. Could they be any less accomodating?! :x The ladies in my clinic's billing department have become the same way. Seriously, if I do another cycle, I may go to another clinic, just because of the difficult billing people. Too bad because I really believe in my RE. There is another clinic that is supposed to be really good here in town. So I'm not that worried about it.

I was on the Lupron website. It's also used for Endometriosis and fibroids. I seriously don't think my Ins co is going to ask "is this for infertility or fibroids?" I could be wrong, but considering the other meds were covered without question, I think this would be the same.

I got your PM. I will speak to my clinic and let you know what they say. If I remember correctly, that is the same description Schraft's gave me over the phone.

Thanks, ladies for your replies. Seems like Lupron can be found in most well known pharmacies.

Amy, I hope someday soon you will be able to join us. Hang in there and keep believing. This will be our last chance for a long while. We are in deep debt now and must pay down our debt before we can even think about another cycle. Unfortunately we didn't have $25,000 laying around and chose to go in to debt, mostly because of my age (didn't want to wait). I'm praying really hard that this cycle works. Or that at least we'll have enough totcicles left over to do more FETs if needed. The cost is so much less for FET, but still pretty high. Fortunately with my cycle I get a 2nd FET if the 1st ET fails. If I get a BFN both times, I could be 40 by the time we can afford to do IVF again. :(
Never mind that though, I'm still optimistic, I must believe that I was meant to be a mom, I will be a mom! :D

If I didn't hate ins companies and RX before, I hate them after going through all this. My Dh went to (covered) RX yesterday to refill estrogen suppository they told me they could, he gets there and they say no, he had to drive the Schraft's and $60 later got it filled, would have been free at covered RX. He got in a big fight w/ pharmacist (oh shXX, I have to work with these people).
I'm in same situation, last chance until we save enough money to try again.

Mia: That is ridiculous about your pharmacy. I would ask to talk to the manager or director of your clinic and insist that the authorize it or you wil consider going somewhere else. I had to switch clinics because mine was not keeping up with insurance. I hope you get it resolved.

Suzhan: SOrry you are feeling icky...I think you are having twins (maybe more!!). Your numbers were really high. Can't wait to see on Wed. I am not sick yet, just a few smells have got to me at odd moments and in bed by 8:30, but that's it.

Good luck to everyone who is scanning this week!!

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to drop a little note and update you all on what is going on with me. We went to see the Dr last friday. We had many questions about what went wrong. Turns out that I may have a slight problem with my egg quality. There were different things wrong with all my eggs that is why none took. No that they know I have a problem with egg quality they can stimulate me differently next time around. The Dr was very confident that we will succeed with IVF. She said I need a little fine tuning. LOL. That is kind of funny. I won't be doing it again till MAY. I really need some time away from it all. Take Care.

Hi gals...
been MIA for a while, but lurking occasionally. Some great news!

Cinders: 3 on US, that is fantastic!!! congratulations!

Noodle and Suzhan: good luck on US for 12/27. Will look forward to seeing how many!

Jovigal: congrats on the ET! Does it make it easier or harder to have 2ww over Christmas???? I think it would help me b/c i would be so busy...but maybe that is my now-medication-free mind thinking...

Vicky77: so sorry to hear the news per US hasn't been great. Hoping you are able to have the US on Fri so you don't have to wait to know until after Christmas. I imagine that could make the holiday even harder. So wishing the US showed something different....

i now have my schedule and i am FET'ing on 1/25 (same day, same clinic as Mia :D ).

btw, Mia, I am pm'ing you...

Bubby- great to hear from you again, Good Luck in May, we'll be rooting for you!
Sassy- thank you for the good vibes! Good luck to you on 1/25! just around the corner but must feel like forever!

Please help me today. Sorry for the following gross information. I did my suppository last night and put it in further then usual, when I took the applicator out there was a brown (old blood) clump on it and then I spotted (brown) for most of the night, nothing this morning. I called the RE and they said nothing to worry about, if you get red discharge call back! scan on wed 12/27, that was it. I'm a little concerned, I'm thinking on taking a HPT to ease my mind, is there anything that I could be taking that would cause a HPT not to work???? Please let me know if anyone has any thoughts, I'm still nauseous, boob issues and headaches are still here.

noodle, I agree with your RE that it's nothing to be concerned about. The brown blood could be left over from implantation and where you stuck the suppository in higher than normal, caused it to come out. It's probably good that it did come out anyway. Sorry if that sounded gross but try not to worry.

Sassy - 2 ww is going pretty good. I do think the holidays are helping me keep my mind off of it. Staying busy always helps. I'm glad you finally got your FET date. It really helps to have a date to look forward to.

Kristen - good to hear from you again and that you got good news from your doc. I had a problem with fertilization also. I only had 1 out of 5 eggs mature enough that made it. I was even on the max dose of stims. Good luck!

Suzhan - hope you're feeling better! I'm afraid to say that the tiredness doesn't go away for 18-21 years! :) or it seems that way for me....

Merry Christmas to everyone!!! Babydust to all! :P

Noodle: I wouldn't worry. I think brown blood is okay because it is old. I wouldn't take a pregnancy test. Even if something was wrong, you still have HCG in your system, so I don't think that would give you any answers. I think you are totally okay. I spotted last week and went in for u/s and everything was okay so far. I had 3 embryos and they think maybe one was vanishing. Did you have any u/s yet??? What were your betas??? If you don't feel comfortable, tell them you want a u/s today and go in...that's what I did. Good luck!!
