hi magnus. sorry to hear about your neg. it's such a rollercoaster of emotion for both of you.

in answer to your questions, clinics/gynae's work differently. my 1st clinic, the lister, said to start straight away. my 2nd clinic said to wait for three periods.

with my first cycle i started my period as normal. with the 2nd one it was two weeks late.

if you did your hpt early then you should do another as it is not unusual for it to show neg if done too soon. however you can have a blood test that will show for sure either way.

i know it is a really upsetting time for you both right now. make sure you have a follow up consultation and listen to what your body tells you. i believe that emotionally you need to feel right too as well as what the doctor will tell you.

take care of yourselves.
best wishes,

phil.

hi magnus,
and hi dagny hope you're doing well.

you're right about your body, it's been pumped with drugs and might need a rest. me - i'm inbetween treatments. we have an appointment on 30th with a new gynae but same clinic to decide what to do next. we've had 2 unsuccessful cycles so far and the last gynae wasn't helpful with future options. one thing i've learnt is to know as much as i can before going to a consultation, and to find out as much as i can about other things that can affect us (and the boys) like nutrition etc. i wasn't very aware of this until i started 2nd ivf.

magnus, it may seem very dark now but you had embyro to blasto stage. this is really good. keep in touch and let us know how you get on with your appointment.
philx

Hi Magnus,
Sorry to hear your result, it is so heartbreaking. You are in the right place here though!
Regarding when to start...after my last cycle was abandoned I could have started the following month after the natural period. But the hormones had affected me quite badly so I took an extra month off, to try to get back to normal (if that is possible with me!)
I am glad I did and am ready to start again any day now.
Love Debbie

Hi Magnus & welcome to the site, sorry to hear you got a negative, it's a horrible time but you do get through it and I really believe it makes you stronger for the next time. I had a failed cycle in July and then was told I could start after 2 periods. So I did and got another negative. I now wonder if I just went too soon and should have waited to get over (as much as poss) the first one emotionally as well as physically. Having said that, it's different for everyone and planning your next cycle may may be the thing that keeps you going over the coming weeks. My period started 2 days after stopping the pessaries both times but was not much heavier than normal.
Don't know if that was any help at all but best of luck whatever you decide and everyone on the site is always here to answer any questions/worries you might have
Take care
Lots of love
Kat xx
Me & DH both 41
