Hi gals....

I hope you all had a nice hoilday! Mine was good but busy....I'm still recovering from all that food!

I had a scare on Christmas Eve...I started spotting pretty heavily (well, to me it was...) It wasn't blood necessarily, but it could have been old blood? It was brownish/black. It occurred all day Sunday, Monday, and it's still going on a bit today. It wasn't enough to fill a pantyliner, but it was constantly happening all day. :x I didn't know if maybe it had something to do with the fact that I was taken off my proj. suppositories on Friday? I've been very restless/uneasy about it. Has this happened to any of you? Of course, I couldn't call my doc due to the holiday. I put a call into him today, but I think their office might still be closed. I'm still waiting on a call back.

However, on a good note, I did get my nuchal scan done today! Both babies look good (what a relief...I was really worried due to the spotting). The high risk doc I saw said both babies had good, thin neck folds. He didn't have me do any of the bloodwork for downs/etc. today due to the fact that I was spotting ( I guess it could affect results?) and because the bloodwork for twins is usually off anyway. This doc told me not to worry about the spotting, that it is quite common...this made me feel better. However, I stil want a call back from my RE! :?

Sita, I was wondering if your bleeding sounds like my spotting? Or is it fresh? Sorry if this is TMI....I've been thinking about you. I hope your scan goes well tomorrow.

Did anyone else have appointments today? If so, I hope they went well.

THanks for letting me vent. I'd love any feed back from you gals. You are my "experts"!

Buckeygal, I have had the spotting that you explained on and off for some time. I went to the doc the first 3 times it happened and he explained each time it is because all the extra homones had made my cervix very irritatiable. I too actually had it happen Christmas eve. It seems to happen more around bowel movements than anything else but has happened other times also. You should still see your OB just so he can make sure your cervix is closed. But try not to worry so much, what you described sounds just like what has happend to me on several occassions and after much research does happen to many.

Good Luck and God Bless,
Cowgirl

Thanks for the info, cowgirl...I did a little more research myself and found many women who had the same thing. I did finally get a call back from one of the nurses at my RE's office, and she said it's pretty common for women to have some spotting when they're coming off their proj. supplements. She said it might continue for a week or so. I feel much better now, and I will try to rest easy! well...easier!

I try not to get paranoid, but it's hard, isn't it?

Have a great night!

Hi Ladies,

I hope everyone is doing well.

Kim - I am sorry for your scare but happy that the babies are looking good and the nuchal scan went so well. If you do not mind me asking how long after you went off the progesterone suppositories did you start spotting? I hit my 13 week mark and Monday and took my last suppository and I am also concerned about this also. Has your Dr. tested your progesterone after you went off?

Nicola - You must be so excited to see the baby and the heartbeat. Congratulations! That is a huge milestone.

As for me I have an OB/GYN appointment this afternoon. I'm not sure if they are doing a scan or not. Do they usually do one at each appointment? Hopefully, I will get to hear the heartbeat and get back the results of the Nuchal Scan back.

I hope everyone else is doing great and keep us posted of any updates.

All my thoughts and prayers are with you and your beanies.

Hello Everyone.... I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. Mine was great... not to busy which was perfect.

Kim- sorry you've had some spotting, but I'm happy to hear that the babies are doing well.... if it's not one thing it's another (we'll always be worrying).

Nicola- great news about your scan... you must be so happy.

As for me I had my 16 week appointment yesterday and everything is perfect. I even lost a pound... don't know how that happened with the holidays and all. The baby's heart beat was at 148.... I'm thinking it's a girl. We also did our blood work yesterday to see if we're at risk for any birth defects (not that we would do anything about it). My doctor then told me to schedule a scan for 18 weeks (so we're going Jan. 10th @ 6:30pm).... I'm hoping the baby will cooperate and we can find out wat it is.

Hope you all have a great day...
Tasha

Hi everyone! Thanks for the encouragement. The spotting is definitely lightening up...so I'm just waiting this thing out!

Angelica--Sorry you're not feeling so well. I've been there, girl! Once I hit 12 weeks, it's like my stomach kind of returned to normal! I hope that happens for you too. Nausea stinks... :?

Nance--My doctor had me go off the projestrone at 12 weeks. I started spotting 2 days later. What kind of suppository were you on? The nurse told me that spotting is common...but not everyone will have it. I hope you don't have to deal with it. It's just nerve wracking. I hope your appt. went well and I hope your scan results look good. By the way, did a tech do your scan? Just curious, because I got my results by the end of my appt. A tech did most of the scan, but then a doc came in to double check and did some of the scan himself and told me everything was ok. I'm curious to see if I should have been given more info?

Hope everyone else is doing well. Rest those beanies! :)

Hi Ladies--Although I had been lurking for the past couple weeks, I finally mustered up the courage to join this thread. I was so afraid that I would jinx myself by coming over, but I had my last scan this morning and all is well. This is so exciting but unreal at the same time......Congratulations to all of you and I hope your pregnancy is a safe and healthy experience.

As I mentioned, today was my last scan and now I am officially done with the PIO. I go back again on Friday (my bday) for my final bloodwork and if all is well, I will be released. My first OB/GYN appt is January 11. Can someone prepare me for what happens at that time?

I just wanted to "introduce" myself and look forward to sharing this experience with each of you.

Quick question--at what point did you begin showing? I know that everyone is differennt and with twins you show a lot sooner, but I am curious to know when you popped. I am having one and see no difference.

Hi Girls,

Congratulations to all of you who have go through your scans this week and been sucessful. Hope you also had a good Christmas.

I had my 2nd scan today and it was finalised that I had miscarried. I have been crying my heart out, but at least now there is some closure.

I feel I have disappointed DH, my mother and MIL but they keep saying that I have not.

The doctor has asked me not to have the D & C as I have been clotting heavily anyway. She has asked me to go through a FET again (and have a fresh cycle later) but has advised me to take a short break and let them know when I get my next period.

I asked the Doc whether I could do some tests so that I can avoid this happening again, but she said there was nothing I could have done to prevent this. Also they are unable to do genetic testing becuase it is a frozen cycle. Is this right ? We are thinking of getting a second opinion.

Thanks for all your support and prayers. I am hoping that I will have the strength to go through all of this again.

Good luck to all of you !!

Lots of love,
Sita

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all well.

Wannababy - Congratulations on your BFP!!! You must be so excited. It is great to have you to share this wonderful experience with. On my first OB/GYN appointment they took a urine test, a whole bunch of blood, weight (eak!) a medical history and they did a sonogram to confirm the pregnancy and to check on the baby's growth. Since then they schedule me to go every 4 weeks for urine, weight, blood pressure and to check the baby's heartbeat. Yesterday was my first appointment where I did not have a scan but we did hear the heartbeat on the dopler thingie so that was very reassuring. As for the showing, I am 13 w and 2 days and while none of my cloths fit me and I am wearing maternity cloths I only gained 3 lbs and no one else can really tell. I'm looking forward to showing (as silly as that sounds) to me it is like announcing to the world what a wonderful gift I have been given. I read that in 2nd trimester you gain about a pound a week so I'm sure by week 15 or 16 it should be a little more noticible. I'm pretty big to begin with and my weight fluxuates so much under normal circumstances, it might take a while for people to be able to notice. Good luck on Friday. Let us know how it goes. BTW what part of the Eastcoast are you from? I'm from NY.

All my best,
Nance
