Hi all,
I hope everyone had a good christmas. Pleased to hear that scans went well.
Wannababy congratulations on your BFP you must be so happy. I understand your concerns about being jinxed i felt the same, but everyone is so supportive. I still haven't posted my due date yet and think i am going to wait until 12 weeks. (me being silly).

Sita and Vicky my heart goes out to you both. I hope you will be able to move forward and that 2007 brings you both the happiness you and your family deserve. Sita dont feel guilty i am sure your dp and MIL do not blame you in any way unfortunatly life can be so unfair and there is nothing we can do.

Kim i am sorry you have had a scare over christmas but really pleased all is well with your scan.
My stomach seems to be expanding rather quickly my trousers don't fit so well and it certainly feels different. I have tried to eat healtily over christmas but we all know how hard that is!!!! I must admit it has been strange having an alcohol free christmas but i dont mind being everyones chauffeur for this year only.

wishing you all well

Hi all,

Wannababy--Congrats! Welcome to a great site....these gals are great at giving advice and comfort when needed. I hope all goes well for your pregnancy. As for showing, I'm having twins, so I am showing a tad. I just went and bought some maternity clothes yesterday, but I can still fit in a few of my more "forgiving" clothes in my closet. Like Nance, I am looking forward to showing a bit more so people know why I'm packing on the pounds. Right now I just look a little hefty. :?

Nance--I'm glad your appt. went well. Did you get the results of your nuchal yet?

Sita--I am so so sorry, dear. I was hoping and praying for you. Keep up the faith. You will get a baby someday, somehow. I'm pulling for you. xxxxxx

Hello Everyone!

First off, I hope everyone had a great holiday. Ours was filled with food, friends and more food. We did nothing but eat and play games for 4 days!

Sita and Vicky - My prayers are with both of you. Having been through my 6 m/c I know how very taxing it can be. It was my greatest fear with this find and much desired pregnancy. However, like I have said before, I have 6 little angels to watch over me and my family and I know they are where they belong. They were needed elsewhere and I still love them as much as I love my children that are with me. God bless both of you.

Nictor - What a thrill for you! It is strang, because I was looking at the first u/s of our little one last night and I was amazed at how big it has grown. Like you, we heard the HB on the first u/s and we both cried. It was incredible. I am very glad to hear your little one is doing so well!

Elliecat - I completely agree with you on the no alcohol thing. When I was pregnant with the boys, I was too young to drink (Daniel I was 17, Christian I was 20), but I have gotten used to having egg nog or a glass of wine at the holiday parties. However, we served sparkling grape juice and the whole party drank that instead of alcohol. It was very nice and still allowed us t use my wine glasses!

Nance - I am glad to see you are well. Like you, I have only gained about 4.5 lbs and yet I am huge. I have been shocked to see how quickly I have become rounded! Most of my friends that did not know already have guessed that I am pregnant. On the bright side, I am very proud of my growing little one. We worked so hard to make this one come true, that I am proud to wear my maternity clothes.

Wannababy - Welcome! I had noticed you tested positive and I was wondering if you would show up soon. I am very glad to see both you and nictor have made it here. I am so very glad that both of you are having a happy ending after all! As far as pregnancy showing, with my first I was almost 5 months along before anyone could tell I was pregnant with Danny and about 4 months before anyone knew I was pregnant with Christan. However, with Little Bit, I have looked pregnant for since around 12 weeks. Of course, this is my 9th pregnancy and the doctor laughed when I complained about showing so soon! I guess I had hoped to be the thin super model kind of pregnant mom!

Buckeye - You seem to be talkative this week. I hope your holiday was wonderful and those little ones were well feed! Actually, in my pregnancy book (I have about 6 now) they mentioned that certain strong flavors like garlic, cumin, cinnamin and such are found in the amminotic fluid. It is believed that this helps to form baby's tastes while in utero. I don't know if that is true, but I have been craving and eatling loads of spicy salsas on just about eveerything!

Thook - You are really getting along! You were the first of us and now you are like the mom. I know I look for your posts to see what to expect. So many things have changed since I had my last baby. Nuchals were non existant and ammnios were reserved for people with major histories. In fact, I had very few u/s with my other pregnancies despite the bleeding because they still believed the u/s might cause damage to the baby. Good thing thats not true with how often we have had one during this pregnancy!

Angellica - I am glad your computer is working again! I also slept through much of the holiday. It seems that naps are a neccessary evil this time around. Oh well, I guess I need the beauty sleep.

If I missed anyone, please know you are in my thoughts.

As for us, we are doing well. My husband and I have started decorating the baby's room with the help of our boys. We chose frogs for the theme and I am painting a pond mural thoughout the room. We are even discussing putting a plastic flooring in and painting it to match everything. I bought the baby a stocking and filled it with socks and some onesies that I used heavily with the boys. We seem to be settling into the process. I worry about my boys, I know the oldest is very happy and does well with siblings, but I worry about the little one. He has been the center of attention from both us and his brother for almost seven years. He is well adjusted, but he is very spoiled attention wise. Oh well, I guess I will worry until the baby is here. Hope everyone is well!

hi girls....

welcome wannababy- as for showing, me this is my 3rd baby, so I'm showing well, and have been a little while.... but i've also lost weight, not that i've been sick, i just tend to gain VERY little or with my last i was 5 lbs less at full term... it's my messed up hormones..

rachael- the room sounds cute.... are you finding out if it's a boy or girl... hope that your boys are doing good...

took- glad that your appointment went well.... i was waiting to get the number of the specialtist maternal/fetal medicine... but did you ask your doc about the level II?? his name is doctor taylor... i couldn't find the number so i was goig to ask my dr tomorrow... let me know if you still want the #... did you ask all your ?'s??

kim-glad that you are doing well, and can still fit in some of your cloths.... i'm completely out of mine!!! i feel way bigger then i feel i should be.... i think that people can actually look at me and say, when are you due... hows the spotting?? i had quite a bit of it untill about 12 weeks then stopped...

nance- glad that you are doing good.... and that your appointment went well....

angellica-glad to have you back, i tpp feel like i've been gone awhile... just the holidays stuff.... hope that you feel better soon!!!

Hi Everyone,

I just got my Nuchal scan/blood work back and had great results. Our chances of Downs is 1:4700 and of Trisonomy 18 is 1:8000. So it looks like an Amnio is not necessary. I am really relieved :D

Colleen - Good luck at your Dr's appointment tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. How has the BP been?

Racheal - The baby's room sounds so adorable. Try not to worry, I'm sure your younger son will be fine. It just might take a little time to adjust but he will be so happy that he has a little brother/sister to love and play with that everything will turn out great.

Kim - Is'nt Maternity shopping fun. I love finally having an excuse to look a little chunky. I find the pants are so comfy. I would consider wearing them even if I was not pregnant. When is your next appointment?

Ellie - I'm glad you are doing well. The no drinking certainly is a bummer especially during the holidays but it is all worth it. I will gladly give up alcohol forever if it means a healthy baby . . now coffee on the other hand is another story

Sita, Vicky - I hope you are both doing ok. I think and pray for you both every day. Please do not feel guilty. I have read in a million places that miscarriages can not be prevented no matter what you do and there is nothing you could have done to cause this terrible thing to happen to you. I do not understand why such bad things happen but I do know that it is definately nothing you did.

Tasha - I am glad you are doing well. When do you get your blood test results back?

Angellica - I am sorry you are not feeling well. Hopefully that will end soon and you will be able to enjoy your pregnancy. Rest whenever you need to and take good care of yourself.

I appologize if I forgot anybody. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Good Afternoon Girls.... hope everyone is doing well!

Racheal- the room sounds adorable... I can't wait until we start decorating as well.

Sita- I'm so very sorry to hear your news sweetie... However, like I used to tell myself God has a plan for each and every one of us. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers....

Wannababy1229- Welcome and congrats on your BFP.... how exciting!

Nance- great results on your nuchal scan... your must be so releived. I should have my blood test results back by next week.

Colleen- I asked my doctor all the questions I had... he said he doesn't think I'm at risk for anything so that's why he never mentioned all of those tests to me. However, he said we would know more once my blood test results came back. If something is wrong then we'll have the level II scan, but otherwise it will just be a regualr scan for me on the 10th. Good luck at your appointment tomorrow... please keep us posted.

Hope you all have a great day-
Tasha

Nance--I'm glad your results came back so well! Yeah! :D

Rachel--The room sounds so cute! You must be talented to paint a mural yourself. I have no talent in that area. As for your youngest, he's the age of my students. I've seen many of them go through the whole "new baby" situation. While I'm not an expert, I do know that if you keep him involved with baby preparations, it will help him feel important/wanted. Also, see if you and your DH can each spend some quality "mommy time" or "daddy time" just with him. You could do the same with your oldest. It's definitely an adjustment for everyone, but kids are resilient!

I'll write more later....I'm off to clean out my closet...I live in an old house, so I have to "seasonalize" my closet. Well, now I have to put away the pre-preggo clothes to make room for my maternity stuff. I have no idea where I"m going to put everything..

Hope all is well with the rest of you. Good luck at your appt. tomorrow Colleen!

Kim

p.s. by the way--still spotting...although lightly and intermittent. Ugh.

Buckeye - You are sooooo right. I know kids bounce back easily, but I hate for any child to feel left out. As for quality time with only him, we do this now and it will continue after the baby. I am his Tiger den leader and I make a point of being with him (as well as the oldest). As far as involving them, both boys have been highly involved from before trying to have the third baby. We spoke with the boys when we decided to do the IVF. We also have allowed them to go to some of the u/s. The boys and I have also gone shopping for the baby things. The mural I am drawing (later I will paint it) had a special spot for each boy to "put his mark" on. They will each put in a picture or special sign just for their sibling. Now that I have written it out, maybe I am just obessed with worrying! I have been having an easy time now that the asthma is back under control and I guess I needed something new to worry about. Thanks for the advice, it made me feel better to know I was doing so many of those things!

Crasmus - I am sorry I missed you earlier! I am very glad to see you are doing better and that you had a great holiday.

FYI - Once I finish the room (or at least one wall) I will post a picture for all to see. I love painting and crafts and I am very excited about the room. I have not undertaken such a large project before and I am anxious to get results!

Good night everyone!

Hello all!

Sita I am so sorry for what you are going through! I hope your heart is able to heal from this and you can try again. I have heard that genetic testing is very expensive and rarely conclusive that is why doctors avoid it but getting a second opionion is a smart choice.

Nance Big Congrat on the Nuchal scan results! Those are great numbers!

Rachel I can't wait to see those pictures! Are you going to find out the sex of your baby? I was just wondering because green as in frogs is pretty neutral. We are going to try and NOT find out but since they are going to do a level II US, we maybe able to see just from watching the screen. :-)

Buckygal, I feel your pain about where to put things. I really need to get rid of some clothes to make room for maternity clothes.

Wannababy, welcome to this side :-) It has been a long road for anyone that goes IVF to get here. Hope you are able relax and enjoy your pg :-)

Thook glad everything is going well for you! :-) Are you feeling your baby move everyday now? What are you hoping for?

As for me all is well. My 16 week appt is next Wednesday. I feel the baby move more and more all the time. This morning I went to get into bed and rolled on to my tummy and he/she made it clear they didn't like that and I got a hard thump, it really caught me off guard :-)

Take care ladies and Happy Holidays!

Sita--I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Take good care of yourself during this difficult time.

Nance-Thanks for the update. We are neighbors. I'm in Jersey. Tell me more about this nuchal scan thing. Does everyone do this?

Elliecat- I thought that I was the only one feeling that I was going to jinx myself. I totally understand your reluctance to post your due date.

Buckeyegal-I can't wait to start showing. How are you managing with twins?

cmoscar-I finally sucked it up and decided to come over here. First pregnancy showing at 5 months? Wow!

crasmus-Thanks for the welcome. This one stylist at my hair salon is pregnant with her 3rd,is 2 months and looks like she is 5 months easily.

Thook- thanks for the welcome. I hope pregnancy is treating you kind.

I have been more nauseous more often during these past few days. I'm not a fan of food nowadays, but concerned about getting enough food especially veggies. I guess I should invest in some V8. That will really get me to puke!

Hope all is well ladies--take care!

Hi Girls,

I hope all of you are doing great. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. I really do appreciate your support.

I must say that I always feel better when I write to you and read your response posts. It feels like I have lifted a load off. I know that the recovery will take sometime and I am prepared to give myself some rest.

My DH, I and my mum (who is a cancer patient) are going away for a few days to take our mind off things. I am hoping 2007 would be better for us.

Nance - BIG CONGRATs for your test results.

cmoscar- Thank you so much for reminding me about the angels who are looking over us. Yes, I too believe that my father (who passed away 2 years ago) and my embies who did not make it are all looking over me. They will always have a special place in my heart.

Wannababy -Congrats and Good luck with your scans.

Thook and Cowgirl - I hope and pray that all is well with you and your little miracles.

Will write when I am back from my break..

Lots of love,

Nance - Happy New Year to You too!!!!!

Cowgirlclass - DH says we are going to find out, but I do not really care to. The way I look at it, This is our last and no matter what it is, I will be thrilled! Personally, I already think I know what it is and I was right about the two boys. I really wanted another boy, but I am almost 90% sure it is a girl. As for feeling the baby, I have been feeling it more and more. Mine is not kicking hard, just rubbing and turning over. I notice it more and more during the day and every night. Just about the time I am starting to fall asleep, the baby starts rolling around and keeping me in awe. It still amazes me how wonderful it feels to have something growing inside.

Angellica - When do you get your results back from the u/s of you lump? I have been praying hard that it is just a cyst or something simple.

Sita - Enjoy your little getaway!

Wannababy - During my first pregnancy, I started off weighing only 105 lbs while being 5'9" tall. I actually only gained 8 lbs during the first 5 months, but then I went on bed rest due to pre term labor. I ballooned and gained a total of 55 lbs. It was horrible! I also frank large amounts of V8 during the first 10 weeks because I was not feeling well. Now I just eat loads of veggies!

I worked some more on the room. I have picked out many of the colors and the whole room will be a pond scene with lots of lilly pads, fish, frogs, and turtles. I am going to paint the dresser to blend in as well. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and I will have the full 4+ months to finish it.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Good Morning Ladies....

Cowgirl- No I haven't felt any movement yet or at least I don't think I have. However, since this is my first I don't really know what I should be feeling.... I'm hoping I feel something soon though. That will make some of my nervousness go away. However, I'm so happy for you that your feeling the little girl/boy moving in there.... that must be so exciting.

Wannababy1229- Sorry to hear that you have been feeling nauseous the last few days... I was in the same boat. The only thing that worked for me was drinking a can of Root Beer. Try it and see if it works for you too.... good luck!

Sita- I'm so glad your keeping touch with us.... it's great to always hear from you. Maybe a vacation is just what you need to get away and kind of clear your head. I have a feeling 2007 is going to be a great year for you.....

So anyone have any big plans for NYE? We're actually just going to dinner and then going by our friends house to watch the Bears Game!!!! I'll be bringing a bottle a Sparkling Grape Juice along....

Hope you all have a great day and a very Happy & Safe New Year.

Tasha

Sita--Good to hear from you! A little R&R sounds like a good plan. Enjoy every minute of it! Maybe you could get a massage or something--something to help you rejuvenate!

Tasha--I hear you on the grape juice for NYE! My hubby and I are actually going to a big party downtown for the night...good food, open bar (well, not for me!), and a nice hotel room. I can't wait! Although, I haven't been up until midnight since I've been preggers....don't know if I'll make it! :o

Racheal--The room sounds cute. Definitely send us pics. You sound like you're doing all the right stuff for your 2 boys....they will be such great big brothers!

Nance--Happy New Year to you! Have you managed to avoid the spotting after going off your suppositories? I hope so!

wannababy--Nuchal scans help test for birth defects. My doc recommends them for anyone over 35. Even though I'm under 35, he still had me do it....just as an insurance policy. It's basically a higher resolution ultrasound, and they measure the thickness of the baby's neck folds. Some people get additional bloodwork too. Check with your doc to see if it's necessary. You do have to have the nuchal done before week 13, though. On another note, you asked about my twins....honestly, sometimes, I have to remind myself I have 2 in there! Other than extra nausea at times, it seems to be like a singleton pregnancy. Although I've been warned to take it easy, as having 2 can sometimes tire you out more quickly. So, I try to rest when I can.

Cowgirl--That's great that you can feel your baby moving! How far along were you when it started?

Hope everyone else is doing well! Enjoy the new year's celebrations! 2007 is going to keep us all VERY BUSY!
