Tammy...On the February Buddies list there are a couple ladies that might help you out...Once is "Souris"...Her dh had to have his semen surgically removed. I believe this is done through a biopsy, but I could be wrong. She might be able to help you more on the subject. There are a few other ladies, but she's one that I thought of immediately that might be able to help you out in that department. Also, there is another lady there "Sully" who is going to be meeting with her clinic shortly to do an IUI cycle with donor sperm. She might be able to assist you further on that subject too. The ladies are all here to help, so feel free to stop in and ask away. I don't think they'll mind me volunteering them... I'm sure they'll get back to you with any questions you might have...Here's a link to the thread where you can post to them...

Hi Tammy,
i really urge you to have the biopsy and get the sperm out if you can. I have found out from the bioopsy that my hubby has not 1 sperm but at least we now know. It cost us NZ$750 and i would save up and pay this again just to know. They can get enough sperm out with this method, they only need 1 good swimmer!

Using a donor (which i have too) will be a lifetime of knowing that, if you have even the slightest chance to use your hubby's sperm i urge you to go down this track if you can. I would give anything to have the opportunity you have. Just my opinion though. Im sure you will make the best decision for you.

One other thing Tammy, if you want to chat about using a donor, please feel free to ask me any questions, i am stil on a waiting list for a donor but have made that decision to go down that track, and i understand how it is not easy.

Hi Polly,

Are the waiting lists in New Zealand as long as they are in Australia? My clinic in NSW told me that it would be $100 to be placed on the list and the minimum wait would be 6 to 12 months. I've also read that other clinics are not even offering because the wait is so long.

Hi there,
Ive had such conflicting advice from my clinic, first up i was told 14 months wait - then 6-9 months then 6-12 months. At the end of jan i find out exactly where on the list we are -thank goodness. Im looking forward to having a bit more of an idea. I would think that 6-12 months is pretty good - similar to here. We didnt' have to pay anthing to go on the waiting list - however i would have paid $1,000 as its our only option.

We are a 6 hour drive from our clinic which is a pain.

Can i ask which part of NSW you live in? My husband and i have spent quite a bit of time over there as we have good friends in Sydney.

You could use Donor sperm, We are using donor sperm as my dh has NO sperm at all, if you want to talk about it, pls feel free to honey!!!

Men, dont like talking about these things, why do think the high % who post here are ladies!!

My dh is like polly's he hardly spks to me...If we do spk its coz Ive prompted the talk first!!!

Sorry Eimear same with my DH. It is quite a huge journey for a man to discover that he is not able to have children, then come to terms with being a father without being biologically related to the child.

I found myself very lucky to have found Polly and Nicolamark who have DHs with azoospermia, even if we are in 3 different countries.

Even in the other site I contribute to, it is more common to have women that use donor eggs.
