im new to this group. i m so scared about this pregnancy since i have had 4 losses - all very early on. this is the farthest i have gotten and am happy about that. this is a result of a frozen transfer and today is the start of my 11th week.
i had a quick question. did anyone experience a bacterial infection early in pregnancy or first trimester? if so, what was the diagnosis. The research i did said not to use metrogel vaginal (perscription for BV) during first trimester. it also said that BV is also a cause of 2nd trimester miscarriages. as i reach the end of the first trimester, i thought that i could finally start to enjoy this but seems like i will be walking on eggshells throughout this pregnancy. i really hope to have a healthy child. anyone been through what i am going through? i know that if this is meant to be, it will be but i cant help but worry. worry about the health of my baby. did anyone take oral antibiotics for this condition during first trimester? any input or comments will be appreciated. i hpe to make great friends on this post. wishing all of you the very best!
I had a thrush and bladder infection ( I dont know if it is the same as what you have) in my first trimester, and I was prescribed antibiotics! The doc`said it happen often in pregnancy because of all the hormones.
I hope it helps
best of luck with you pregnancy

I have just come out of hospital where I was on IV and oral antibiotics as I had an infection, they were vague about what sort of infection or even where it was but I am sure when they left me in a room and I peaked my notes it said someting about query BV, I made them ring the pharmacy and provide me with all the information on the specific type of AB's in pregnancy and Augmentin is apparently safe my infection cleared up in 5 days and I was allowed home I did find out I had lost a twin while I was there but that happened a week before the infection was apparent and the surviving twin seems so far fine.......... they also wanted me on metranidazole but decided against it as it is not deemed safe in pregnancy although is usually used to treat BV. I am sure you will be fine, stop panicking and good luck....
