Crash i started suppositories on day of retrieval and have been having 200mg every 8 hours. I will continue these until my 12 week scan. Looking forward to stopping so i don't have to get up at midnight (can't stay awake until then!). I would think that clinics would need to be flexible with everyones individual needs and not have 1 rule for all. Good luck.

Wishing you all a fantastic 2007 and hope everyones dreams come true. :D :D :D

Crash, I had the same questions after my IVF did not work the first time.
I was given progesterone cream and told to start it the day after egg collection. I forgot and missed the first day.
I felt so guilty after the first cycle didn't work thinking that I had not built up my progesterone levels.
I spoke to my clinic and asked if my progesterone was not high enough.
I only got a vague response that didn't really clear anything up for me. From all the responses on the progesterone issue so far it appears to be pretty standard that it is administered well before transfer...Fee

Hi all - I was away for the new years but we're back now...

First, Jovi - many congrat's! Image It was so awesome to read about your BFP! Welcome to pregnancy!

I see there's been quite a debate about the progesterone issue....I tend to agree with all the ladies comments that PIO is the best, even though it's painful. I too am on PIO's until week 10.

Mia - so time to start the lupron, huh? Things are moving right along - - I plan to read about your BFP in a month or so!

Noodle - How are you feeling? Still nauseous? I was pretty bad a couple of weeks ago through Christmas. But I'm been a bit better the last week. I find getting extra sleep - like 10 hours/night - really helps. Also, I've avoided a lot of food that seems to bring it on (of course, these used to be all the foods loved that now I can't seem to even be around.)

Vicky - I read that you're looking to do FET in a couple of months - I hope it goes well for you! Keep us posted!

Cindy - How are you doing? Do you scan again today? We have our next scan tomorrow. Hope you're hanging in there.

Well, happy new years to everyone! I hope 2007 brings everyone their dreams!

thanks Suzhan! We're still elated! I went for 2nd beta today, 4 days after first and my hcg went from 51.9 to 306 so RE is happy. He said my prog level is really good so I get to switch to oral meds tonight, NO MORE SHOTS!!!

I hope all of you are having a good year. I believe there's gonna be alot of babies born this year!!!!!

Hi all, Happy new year, i hope everyone had a good celebration. it was my last drink hopefully until the same time next year.
Sorry i'm missing a lot very busy at work, DH and i have a shop and its our end of year, so been stock taking and mountains of paperwork to get through, at least i'll be finished by next week and be able to relax a bit more.

Crash i feel the same as you about the Progesterone, i meant to ask at my revue but forgot, I will ask next week when i go for my day 21. However what i did find strange was that on an FET i started the prog suppositories two days before transfer and i also used 2 per night wheras on a fresh ICSI cycle like your wife i started on the day of transfer and only used one, so half the amount.I have noticed all our american ladies do shots and have the progesterone level tested, I don't think they test ours here? I am very interested about this as i think it was noodle? that had a low first beta like myself , but her progesterone was also low which they increased and her pregnancy has continued. My protocol was not changed and i only had HSG level tested, it makes you wonder if the outcome would have been different.
Enough waffle from me take care ladies will pop in and say hi again soon.

Jovi: You are so lucky that you get to do oral progesterone!!! I have 2 more weeks...I'm so sick of shots, can't wait to be done.

Suzhan: Yes, I had my scan today. All 3 babies are all the same size and all of them had a HR of 174. We have a very tough decision to make in the next few weeks. It's tough and I feel bad about it. I hope your scan goes well and post when you hear..good luck!!

Hope everyone is doing great!!

Cinders - I was just catching up on you lucky Nov ladies and wanted to let you know that my Dr said that even if you reduce a triplet, your body still reacts as though there were three babies. He was concerned for me as I had 4 put in and I am only 5 ' 1" tall and 100 lbs. You might want to ask about this and find out if it is applicable.

In regards to the progesterone inquiries - I think the levels are different for fresh vs frozen because of the stims you are using. They in themselves have progesterone and increase lining... I do agree that it seems the US girls use more and sooner than overseas.

Good luck everyone.

Cinders---I was surprised to hear that your Doc recommended selective reduction with triplets. I'm sure he (or she) is saying it based on your specific case, but my doctor said that they consider triplets to be the same risk as twins so they wouldn't recomend sr until the quad range. Just thought I'd put that in---I don't envy you your decision and am behind you 100% whichever way you choose!!!

I'm just hanging out waiting for AF to show up so I can get my FET on the road. It should be any day now, so I'm getting really excited! It's hard to just be sitting back and not doing anything productive (reproductive??? ) so it will be good to be back on some drugs!!!!

Cindy - your decision is just that - yours (and DH's.) There will be lots of opinions and many pro's and con's. Ultimately, you and DH will determine what the right decision is for the two of you. We'll all be here to support you no matter what you decide.

Has Dr. S. suggested anyone to talk to - perinatologist, for example - to help you understand the benefits and risks? Perhaps getting another specialist's opinion with expertise in multiples would help?

I wish you all the best in trying to decide. I can only imagine how challenging it is. Good luck to you both!

Hi everyone!

Amy: What do you mean your body responds the same way when SR triplets to twins?? In what way.

Meg: Actually, if you do reasearch on triplets, you have a 50/50 chance of having healthy babies. I have researched this heavily and from what I find, 50% of the families have healthy triplets. The other 50% have at least one child pass away or one child that has a lifetime disability. It's luck of the draw. While it's possible to have healthy triplets, it's also possible to have three very sick babies with many problems (e.g., cerebral palsy, etc). It's a very hard decision..We certainly don't want any of our babies to be sick and we don't want that kind of life either. It's really a personal decision and to keep all would be accepting a life that we may selfishly want. We really want happy, healthy babies that have the best chance in life..life is hard enough without having severe disabilities. Thank you for your support.

Suzhan: Yes, Dr. S. did refer me to someone up in Santa Monica that I'm going to see for an opinion. I also see my regular OB/GYN on Thursday. I really respect her opinion so I will be picking her brain. It is a really tough decision...as I wrote above though, we want our family life to be good with happy, healthy babies. So, it is ultimately a decision we have to make and live with. I think we are leaning more towards SR...the risks are just to high for us and we have to look at it as a lifetime decision. Thanks for your support....let me know how tommorrow goes.

Good luck with everyone who is starting their FET.

Cinders--You're obviously a strong person who has thoroughly researched this and my heart goes out to you. I guess the only thing I can think to say is listen to your body and your heart. It sounds to me like "selfishness" is the last thing that is playing a part in your decision. Man, this whole process is sooooo crazy. Just when you think you've got things figured out, something else comes and whomps you on the head. I'm sorry if my post before seemed cavalier or judgemental---I honestly can't say what I would do in your position so I'm obviously not trying to judge you! Best wishes!!!!!!
