Hi Ems,

Sorry, i didnt see ur posting on the other thread. Anyway - beleive it or not but yes, we are thinking of giving it another go - after the painfull decision of deciding not to, then getting the news from our clinic to say they wouldnt freeze less than grade 1 embryo's - we got a letter from a different clinic telling us an appointment will be made for us within the next 6 mths!
That brought it all back, and with xmas and new year mixed in, emotions running high - boxing day came and went (we had already planned to announce my pregnancy on boxing day when all the family comes to DH's parents - we were going to give everyone belated xmas cards with a picture of the scan and word it like this: Hiya Granny & Granda, this is baby Douglas popping in to wave Hello - cant wait to meet u in May!) Sad isnt it lol - but i did find boxing day really hard for that reason this year - so what with that and the letter from the new clinic, we have decided to go to the appointment and ask the million dollar question, will they freeze our other graded embryo's? Hopefully they will - if so we will be re-joining u all on this fabulous rollercoaster ride, and i cant wait to get strapped in, buckled up, and be taken for the ride of my life (LOL)

Hi ladies,

JackieG, 14 follies. Wohooo... That’s very excited. Anyway, if you don't mind Im asking you. Does your DR always check your E2 all the time? Cause on my last cycle. I don't remember they check my E2? What does E2 n LH indicate? Thanks…. Good luck to you.

Auntie, Im happy AF arrived. Very very happy for you. How long will the baseline be?

Angie, I hope AF comes soon...

Shantala, Nope till now, they don't find the Boeing. But the rescue team from US n Singapore arrived yesterday with their high-tech plane. I hope they found it asap, there are 4 babies in that plane :( So is this your 1st IVF? My first meeting with DR I talked a lot about I read here. :D I think he didn't really like it, seems he felt he didn't do his job completely as DR. :D

Ems, Good luck on blood test tomorrow. Anyway what are they test beside FSH?

Becky, Im praying they will freeze all your eggs. I really hope you can go back again.

Hi to other ladies.. . :D :D

Hey ladies hope all is well I have a general question about the Lupron. I went to the RE on Dec 31st and they saw 20 follicles. I went today Jan 4th they saw 23 my transfer is scheduled for next week does anyone know if there is a way to calculate how many blasts we could end up with. Last time with my BFN we had 12 with 8 fertilized and only had one good and one medium quality blast with none to freeze. At this point I don't know what I need ........ I think that I am just scared of none making it this time....... Also when does your body stop producing eggs ? As long as I am on the meds can the number keep climbing? Oh well sorry for the vent !! Hope everyone is well.

Hi Ladies,

Wow is it tough to keep up with this thread. It's awesome how dedicated we all are to one another!

Sophie... glad you did o.k with the self-injection. For me, I was finally thankful to have some fat on my belly, makes the injection hurt less. The needles are small enough to be pretty painless, it's probably more the concept of sticking yourself. Wait til the progesterone shots.... two words for those... USE ICE

Aunty.... yipee yipee yipee. A great big welcome for AF! Bout time she decided to show up.

Vicky.... I remember the dr. telling me I might get a headache from stim meds, fortunately I didn't, but maybe that's why your head hurts. Can you take tylenol?

Jackie... 14 follies! Wow, that's fantastic.

Cook.... what a wonderful resolution! Spread the PMA

Charlie... thanks for thinking of me. I move forward with much apprehension but with much support as well. :P

My2... my last sono prior to my transfer they saw 8 follies, 2 days later when I had my ET they retrieved 11. I'm guessing you can grow follies up until the day you ET. I also know that 1 or 2 of my follies were to big to retrieve. They usually retrieve them when they are between 16 and 19. Ask your RE how big the follies are.

Bec... how are you feeling?

Jem... so sad about that plane crash. I pray they find the plane soon. So hard to put closure on such a tragedy when there is such a big unknown.

hugs,
Ange

Good Morning Lady's cant stay too long im victim #2 in my house ooo ive been sick my DH gave me that bug im actually at the point i can sit up and not run to the loo or upchuck...woohoo but it was a long long night last night....fingers crossed i will be well enough to go tomorrow for my bloods and scan...

My2 im like Ange i was told i had 5 follies on my last full cycle we got 11 mature eggs 10 ferts 4 perfect embies so you never know just whos hiding around the bend i know they cant see all of our follies on the scans but once your sleeping they can be a little bit more aggressive 23 sounds perfect (well from an old one who only gets a few) i really dont think it matters on the how many all four of my friends i personally know(not ivf board friends) had IVF had a few eggs ..two had 1 egg at EC .BFP..one had 3eggs at EC BFP twins...one had 3eggs at EC BFP triplets.. so with just one perfect little sticky one can make all your dreams real

Jemima sweetie big hugs to you always in my thoughts

Bec its so good to read you your in our thoughts and prayers also

Becky i was thinking about you  do you think meeting with the Embryologist would make any difference to how you feel the reason i ask this is i love love my babysitter shes amazing now when i first met with her she scared me a little with how passionate she was about embryos one woman at our meeting said ooo i dont want my embies freezing BS went mad saying they are all babies so you see i know with her passion for my embies that no way would she ever discard a healthy embie not for nothing maybe if you had the same faith that who ever was looking after your babies was more interested in them than you????

Ems you lucky mixer you shaken not stirred how exciting you get to start your egg food....

Charlie thats what i was talking about with putting everyone under one heading of warm moments i have seen lots of ladys do it your way only have one injection and some other ladys do micro shots of lupron next time you go to your clinic ask them what the shot or meds are for because like you say it gets really confusing

Jackie sweetie i got what you meant maybe aunt gerty?? how are you feeling do your ovies feel like a grape farm....sending hugs to your future babies....

Sassy LOL and yeah it feels so good to start im excited and nervous about my scan tomorrow as i have had this pain on my left side (my one good ovary) so praying its not a cyst or hydro

Angie it does doesnt it seem like forever ago we cycled together im so pleased to have you here this time too for good reasons if we have to do it again its good its together..im excited for us i wll move you up

love to all Aunty

Hi Aunty:

Not sure if u have been reading my posting (Anyone at the Royal Fertility Clinic in Belfast) but i have been asking about the new clinic for some time now. After our painfull decision to give up - we got a letter from the Royal stating that we are on their waiting list and to expect an appointment for a consultation with them within 6 mths. I rung them today and spoke to the embryologist there, a lovely lady - and she did state that the policy ususally was to freeze only grade 1 embryo's.

I explained that i had already had this issue with my other private clinic and that they would not freeze less than grade 1 because of the fear they might not survive, and also because they dont have that big a facility there (How big it has to be to freeze about 5 embryo's i dont know - i know im fat but my babies wud only be wee lol) anyway when i explained about my concerns which most of u know are:

1: If all i had was a 4cell grade 2 embryo they would put it back and i would have a VERY good chance of a pregnancy - then why cant they freeze them to give them that extra chance (even if they dont make it - i would have tried) and not leave them to perish in a dish!
2: To me embryo's are babies from time of conception - when the sperm fertalizes the eggs, now weather these be grade 1, 2, 3 or even further down the line, they are still my babies, and i want to give them every chance they have got - after all i am their mother and i will fight tooth and nail for them.
3: We were willing to pay for the freezing, even if they are graded not so good. We arre fully aware that they might not make their grade, but to us - they are all grade 1.

I explained also that we only fertalized 2 eggs the last time because of our concerns (and that we had to throw away 10 other eggs) and she agreed that this was cutting our chances way below the average, and that our feelings must be pretty strong to risk this, but it was a chance we was willing to take, cos we wernt prepared to leave our embies in a dish to perish!

She was very understanding and said that many people feel as we do and that aslong as we were fully aware that the embryo's might not make the freeze, then she wouldnt have a problem freezing them for us.

Wait - dont get too excited, she also stated that the DR's would also have to agree to it , and that i wud need to discuss this also with the DR. But if she is already on my side, thats one more at the clinic than i had before - then she can also fight my case for me.

So really -the bee all and end all of it is - im still none the wiser, but feel i have a better chance at this clinic than the last one! It is our last hope, so fingers crossed for me guys..... i just couldnt give up - i have to make sure that we have done everything that we possibly could before we close the door ....

Altho i do feel that DH isnt as keen as me this time - i think he's afraid of disapointment again, and having the door slammed in our face! You see, i jump the gun, and i go off and run before i can walk (i did it the last time and he's afraid of me being hurt again) but im already loooking at cots and buggies lol - i cant help it, am i mad or do all u ladies do that too .....

Oh Becky thats wonderful see great minds and all that its so reasuring to find someone as passionate about your wee ones as you are isnt it i know you said dont get too excited but i cant help it oh yeah and stop calling you fat i dont let anyone say mean things about my friends including themselves....so ok well to be honest as you have to pay for freezing i know for a fact that my Dr follows what our babysitter says in reguard to freezing so hopefully your Dr will be the same its your money and your wee ones. to be honest with your other clinic i think they where more worried about the ratings than your feelings on the whole thing if they did allow you to freeze low grade embies and they didnt survive the defriost it could make the lab look bad i hate when clinics go with stats rather than your feelings...i have everything crossed that it all falls into place for you i really do...bring on the big belly.....woohoo

hi Aunty, cool do you have any family still in Rotherham, have you ever been over here?
I live at the beach about 11/2 hours drive from there, my clinic is in leeds which is only about 1/2 hour from Rotherham, and my husband is from near there, his grandfather was an electrician for the pits in west Yorkshire.
Whats even funnier is i lived in New York in 2000 for 8 months we were in Old Westbury on Long Island, we absolutely loved it and would live over there again if we could. We then moved to Texas for 5 months before returning to the UK. This was all before we started TTC.
