Hi Phoenix Ladies

Sorry for not posting sooner, but a little baby takes up a lot of time and energy.

My baby Margarida (Daisy) was born on the 26th, by caesarean after +/-12 hours labour and being diagnosed pelvic incompatibility.
She weighed 3,2kg and 50,5cm long.

We are getting to know each other Margarida and DH and I, and it's a wonderful (though very tiring) journey!

Hi Phoenixes!!

Just a quick update - had stimming prep today and on Puregon. 450 a day today/tomorrow and then in for blood tests on Sunday morning (yawn!!). Reduced my Buserilin to 0.25 a day from 0.5 - they are hoping EC will be on or around 14th Jan!!!! Feel like things are finally happening (know it is silly as been injecting for a month but things are going so fast now!). Scared sh**less about EC though......

Why are u scared about EC??? I am more scared about injecting myself!!!

How is your rainy weekend??!! Hope all good.

NIKKI - I have a fear of all things new....I was petrified about the injections but there was no need (honest). If I don't know what to expect I get worked up about it and not a fan of being put to sleep. Will be fine tho. I am so excited but then the scary bit about if it fails keeps rising. The thought that I could be pregnant in a few weeks after all these years is really amazing!!!! Just trying hard to stay positive but it can be difficult can't it.

LIS - How are you kiddo? I am knackered. We have to be at our clinic between 7.30 and 8 and it takes just under an hour from home. Ok for bloods as in and out in 5/10 mins but the wait for scans can be a drag! How are your bloods?? Hope everything is still going good for ya with the results. xx

JEN - How are you feeling hun? Any news on the AF??

LUCY - hope you are ok chick...Glad you got good news about next cycle!!! Feeling any less tired?? Take it easy..

GAIL - Hope you are ok and your bump is thriving and giving you some sleep at nighte!!

Hi to any one I have missed.

I still feel like a total amateur sometimes.....they have tested by bloods but they haven't said anything about the results and I am not sure what they test for . Know it is FSH levels but not sure what they are expected to be. Anyway, they rang me back and have reduced my Puregon to 375 today, so must be responding, and I am back in the morning for another blood (surprised I have any left! lol).

Q: DO THEY DO EC BEFORE YOUR AF COMES OR DOES IT NOT MATTER??!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS BEFORE AF COMES........

I cant believe it’s the New Year already!

Congratulations on your baby girl Margarida, the first phoenix baby. There will be plenty more to follow though.

Julie I bet your getting excited and nervous about your EC, have you got a definite date yet or is it still the middle of January? I was sedated for my EC, I don’t really remember much about it but apparently I kept demanding to know how many eggs they had got!! I will be crossing everything for you and its honestly not as bad as you think.
Make sure you have plenty of DVD’s to watch afterwards so you can lay down and put your feet up and get DH to run around after you.

Nicki not long until you start IVF, don’t worry about the injections once the first one is out the way its easy. I shook so much the first time I didn’t think I would get the needle in, but the thought is actually much worse than doing it and it will be so worth it when you are holding your baby. I injected in my thighs because I was a bit squeamish about doing it into my stomach. Plus I had more fat on my thighs! You will be having your EC when I am due to give birth!

Lis you must be on your 2ww now, hope its all going ok, I am crossing everything for you. You so deserve this to work. I am really hoping and praying that 2007 will be the year for the phoenixes and everyone will get a BFP.

Lucy I don’t blame you cycling earlier, its not as if you can just switch you mind off to everything, so you might as well go for it. I can’t wait to see a BFP from you. I hope everything is going ok with you and your boyfriend I know you have had a tough time recently. I am praying that your FSH is nice and low so you can have a few more eggs this time.

Jen how is little Broc? I bet he isn’t so little anymore! Any sign of AF yet? Mine used to be up to 14 days late, but I use to get the AF pains from day 28. Hopefully yours will have arrived by now. I bet you are getting so excited about your wedding, its going to be so romantic, can’t wait to see the photos.

I can’t believe I am 29 weeks now. I still pinch myself on a regular basis and I know how very lucky I am. The hospital give me extra scans at 28 and 34 weeks because its IVF which I am certainly not complaining about. I have just had the 28 week scan and baby is perfect size but has long legs. I am 5 ft 2 and DH is 5ft 4 so she doesn’t get that from either of us. It looks like we will have a daughter that looks down on us! We havent decided on a name for definite yet got a few ideas, however her middle name is going to be ‘Hope’ because that is what we named the embryo when it was put back in.

I am sorry I am not on here to much at the moment, Unfortunately I cant get on the internet at work and im struggling with bad back ache so find it hard to stay on the PC too much when I am at home. I do however read whats going on and my thoughts are always with you all.

Have you got ur blood results yet?? Fsh should be a low number, and the lower the better....
Ask them, i would!!!

As for me I had bloods this morning and they have reduced my drugs by another 75 to 300. They say I am responding, slightly over responding in fact but it isn't a problem at this stage. Back for bloods in the morning.

Asked the nurse and you are right NIKKI, day 13 it should be! Day 10 is Sunday so they are aiming for 16th Jan. Can hardly believe this is happening (apart from the fact I am soooo damn tired!!! and the hot sweats are something else!)

So your going to have a big girl then, or should I say tall girl.... not long for you now, its always good to have extra scans... any excuse to have a look at your darling daughter.... thanks for the wishes from you, things are OK at the moment, I just can't wait to get started on my next cycle.. you and MLG are an insiration to us, it can happen and IT WILL HAPPEN..! As for me, not much to tell, went out on Sat night and got very drunk, had such a good laugh though, just what I needed, but yesterday I felt so ill, didn't even get dressed, just laid on the sofa watching TV all day.. feeling very sorry for myself but didn't get any sympathy..!!

Tried to bring my consultant appt forward but they say I've to ring back tomorrow to see if they have any cancellations for the 10th, hope they have.!

Just finishing work now, I've had enough today...

My update is that the GP might not be able to my blood test, which means I have to pay £300 privately for it to be done!! Madness huh???
He's calling me back in the week, to see if there is a way.....

sorry I have been quiet... hope everyone is well.
Nothing new for me, am flying to France on the 16th, going at my mum first to see her (she lives around Lyon) and then home for the treatment (I live 7 hours drive from her, around Toulouse).
DH kids are all gone, but one of his girl looked into my private folders on my Pc and found out about the iVF thing... So now DH ex knows and starts again all the bull**** she has been giving us for the past 5 years!!
Feeling a bit down because as long as she is on this earth, it will never stop!! Kind of tiring...

MLG, that's a lovely name!
Gail I hope you are Ok, sorry to hear that you back hurts hun, it will be al worth it very soon!!

Lis - How are you? How did the inseminations go? Hope you are resting!

Lucy - Glad you let your hair down Sat. Bit of what you fancy does you good (even if you do pay for it the day after!!) Good luck with the phonecall...let me know how it goes. Hoping EC next Tue 16th.....My FSH pre-injections was 7.5..not had a readin since. To be honest I am not sure what question I should be asking re the stimms...know I am slightly over reacting but is there a reading/result I can ask for to see how I am doing?? Had Puregon reduced by another 75 today to 225. I assume this is normal?!

Souris - Hope you are ok....Can only imagine what the grief of DH's ex can be like but guess it is unpleasant at the least!! Chin up and look forward to your break away

Nikki - Let me know what the doc says re the blood test. I hope you don't have to pay for it!!!!

Gail - Thanks for the good wishes - I am about to order some old movies on DVD in preparation. Think need strapping to the bed as I am terrible at sitting for long spells!!!

I intend taking the day of for EC and then back to work....and from ET I will be off the whole 2 weeks. Should I be taking longer from EC?? Ta x
