CHARITY: THIS CAN'T BE......MY INSURANCE DIDN'T COVER A DIME FOR THE MEDS....OR PROCEDURES. WE PAY ALL OF THIS OUT OF POCKET. I HOPE YOU AND YOUR DH FIGURE OUT A WAY TO MAKE THIS WORK. WHEN WE TALKED ON THE PHONE, YOU SOUNDED LIKE A VERY NEAT COUPLE AND VERY SECURE IN YOUR JOBS, I HOPE YOU GUYS CAN FIND A WAY TO MAKE IT WORK. MY DH & I BOTH MAKE LESS THAN $20 AN HOUR......AND THOUGH WE'RE MAXED OUT, AND THAT ALONE IS STRESSFULL, WE HAVE TO TRY THIS ONE MORE TIME. BUT THIS IS IT FOR US TOO. IT TOOK US OVER 3 YEARS TO SAFE UP FOR THE 1ST IVF TRY, SO I HOPE YOU GUYS DON'T GIVE UP.
MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU GIRLFRIEND!!!
You can't know how terrible I feel for what has happened. Its just not fair that insurance companies decide for us weather or not we can have children. I will truly miss your presence here. You mean so much to all of us here.
I hope something can be worked out soon. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

I just read your last post and it really breaks my heart. You're so full of life, enthusiasm and energy; the thought of you being devastated by the news is just horrible. Ajdecker is right; it's very unfair that money, or insurance company, should determine so much whether we have children or not. By all means, you are in my thoughts and prayers, and I really wish you find a solution for this. I also with you'll find other ways to refuel your nice energy and enthusiasm on other things that bring you joy in your life; we all tend to lose focus once we being the IVF ride...
With lots of love,
Sophie

I see from your ticker count that you just started your Lupron. How did it go giving the shot to yourself and are you experiencing any type of side effects?

ajdecker- This is my first IVF attempt so I was very nervous to do the injection. My DH did it for me, it took a few times of me saying I am ready....No Im not but once I let him do it, it really didnt hurt.
As for side effects, not sure about that. After the injection the injection site felt warm on the inside and then I was up for a lot of the night. Not sure if that was a side effect or if I was just not that tired. I will check back with you in a few days and let you know if I expirecnce anything. I have heard a lot of women say hotflashes are common. Havent had any yet but it may just take a few more nights of taking it.
Hi all, sorry for butting in again,
Charity i was so sorry to read about your insurance, i hope you and DH are able to sort something out so you can continue, i wish you all the best for the future.
Vicky, i go to clinic on wednesday 10th for my downregging shot, only the one for me on FET, then i return 2weeks later to check lining and that ive shut down, start taking eostrogen tablets if all ok and should be ready about 8-12 days later depending when they can do it, I expect transfer to be 1st week of february.
take care

Erin,
Thanks for the feedback. I sure would appreciate if you just keep my informed. I'm nervous about the shots too. The only things I'm worried about are vomitting and dizziness. I think I can (hopefully) cope with the rest of it. I'm hoping it won't be a problem though.
Beachbaby-what is downregging?

I am not sure what meds are you going to be taking and it depends on your clinic but I think most of the meds can be taken at night which I find good so that way I can go to sleep and not know the side effects. I get dizzy and nausus on almost everything and so far so good. Try not worry to much it will all pay off in the end.
Hi Charity...i'm so so so sorry to hear your news- i think it's a bummer that money should determine whether one can have a child or not...the whole thing sounds so unfair...but everything happens for a reason and perhaps this is a blip, something that can be overcome....it's heartbreaking to hear you might not make it...i for one will definitely miss you...you gave me such a warm welcome and so much entertainment reading all your posts! I hope things work out for you...you are in my thoughts and prayers...you never know if all of us pray-maybe one of our prayers will be heard... please keep us posted on what happens.

ps.steph...will this be your first go at IVF...we might need to go for ICSI too!
charity - so sorry to read about your post! its not fair!! i really hope you can work things out somehow. we're paying for our first attempt out of a loan from the bank and have decided that if the first one doesnt work then we might remortgage to do the next one (depending on certain stuff)...is that an option??

Yes this is our first try at IVF!! Based on DH's SA we were told that we definitely need to do ICSI. Isn't it amazing that they can literally pick out ONE sperm to fertilize an egg?? I'm thankful that science these days is so advanced! Even though we're going to go broke paying for IVF I feel lucky to have an option like this keeping me hopeful.
When do you start your cycle? Do you know yet?
I just had my HSG yesterday and then I go back in a week for another ultrasound. I'm waiting until that is all clear before I can start Provera/BCP. So at this point I think my cycle will be late February. I can't wait to get started!
Charity i'm so sorry why should our fate at having children always come down to money life is so unfair i hope that somehow or by some miracle things will go right for you sending big hugs to you and dh

Charity, OMG, I just came back to the boards after 2 days because work was crazy and I read your post!!!, I just couldn't believe my eyes when I was reading it. Is there any other way you can go through this instead of your health insurance?. For example, I am doing it through a plan that is called "IVF Shared Risk" that I know it is done in many clinics thoughout USA. It consist on you paying a bit more than one cycle (for what you get a loan of course, you don't pay it all at once) and they give you 3 fresh cycles and 3 FET cycles for that price, and if you do not get pregnant in any of those or even if you get frustrated and decide not to go ahead with IVF anymore they reimburse you with 70% of what you put. Please talk to your clinic and find out about that. Don't give up now, please, we will not let you!!!!
Hope this helps.....I really do....
