Can they hear it?

I hadn't felt my baby girl kick more than once or twice yesterday, so I finally got the courage to call my OB at 9pm last night. As soon as the nurse put the monitor on my belly, the baby went crazy kicking!! I wonder if they can hear the monitor and that is why she went nuts?? Anyone know if they can hear the doppler/ultrasound?

Dopplers are sounds waves and the baby can hear them from what I understand (once the ears are developed enough to hear).

Yes they can absalutely hear it, one of my triplets hates the noise and goes wild every time we need to do a non stress test... i moves away from it... its really amazing... i was told my nurses that most babies dont like the noise.... hope that helps
