Thought the other one was getting a bit long!! Just an update for you. I've been for my 8 day scan this morning and I've got 8 follicles ranging from 8 - 14. Feeling upset and dispondant, as we're doing iui I really only need up to 3. The clinic is going to speak to the consultant this afternoon and see if they are going to reduce my menpour to 1 ampule. I am booked for another scan on Saturday and they said we'll just have to wait and see. SOmetimes the follicles will grow too much and therefore can be discounted, can grow too little and therefore won't work so I really, really pray that we won't have to abandon the cycle. I'm really upset and crying lots and I know it 'ain't over until the fat lad sings' on saturday but i'm just pissed off. It's my first treatment and i just want to see it through. Sorry for the moan and thanks for listening

Lisa well done for starting a new thread, Im sorry to hear your news but hang in there they havent written you off yet !! I will cross everything for you tonight in yoga!!!! Dolly Great news re downregging and being able to start stimming tomorrow , I am hopeing that Mandy will have downregged tomorrow and then I will start my drugs saturday and she will start stimming on wednesday HOPEFULLY!!!!! That means It will be later that week on the the week of the 3rd Novemberfor EC , How long do you recon for stimming! How many days as the first time I think I had a scan on day 7 and then the last injection on the 8th day and hcg on the 9th with EC on the 11th day is this right cause my last cycle was all over the place as I had very few follicles and they kept me going for 14 days , so I am just trying to gage roughly when it will all happen! Hope you can help

Hi Traci, I think every cycle and everyone is different and it depends on how your body reacts to the drugs. Last time I injected stims for 10 days (1 scan on day 9), had HCG on 11th day and EC on 13th day. They will be able to give you a pretty good idea when EC will be when Mandy goes in for her first scan after stims. I bet you're very excited! Looks like we will be doing our 2ww at around the same time. Lisa, sorry to read you post - hopefully everything will be ok on Saturday - I have my fingers crossed for you too. Sorry if this is a thick question - but if the worst happened and you did have too many follicles for IUI - could they swap you on to IVF rather than abandon the cycle? I have heard of it happening the other way when people have too few follies for IVF so they do IUI instead. Only 2 more hours until my first injection... I wish I didn't work myself up into a state about them. Last time it could take up to 25 minutes for DH to give me my injection - I would keep crying!! But this time I have promised myself I wouldn't make a fuss! Hi to everyone Dolly

Hi girls good idea about making ocb6 Lisa we started having iui in June but I reacted really well to the drugs and had too many follices,I was really upset as there was too many to remove some but after discussing it with dh and the nurses we swapped onto ivf we just paid the difference in money.The nurses said I should be glad because some women don't react well to the drugs and have trouble getting follices,even when we swapped onto ivf they didnt change the amount of drugs I had,Hope this helps if they cant do anything about your follices how do you feel about swaping on to ivf? LISA i was opposite to you,doing IVF and only 3 follicles on right side, couldn;t find left overy and couldn;t measure lining, as womb in wronge position.Not sounding good even to a novice. We have to go back on tuesday,they didn;t seem to concerned. Has this happened to anyone,need advice and tips on growing more and bigger follies. LOVE MEL

Hi everyone Well so much activity on this site since I posted on Tuesday. first of all have a confession to make. am on stimming day 7 and forgot to do my 3 pm sniff today - was about 1 3/4 hrs late!!! bricking myself that I've messed things up now. arrgh!!! my mind is so frazzled at the moment that am forgetting everything!! has anyone else been this late on their sniffing? Lisa P - I'm sorry you had a bad scan and I know how devastated you must feel - really hope you can swap to the IVF option instead. it's so ironic, there we all are, some of us (on IVF/ICSI) wanting lots of follicles, some of us (IUI) fewer follicles. I remember getting the news that I had follicles when I was d-regging and thinking it was a good thing, only to be told, no, you need to go round again. kathryn - great to hear from you again. you are an inspiration to us all. hope you are eating/drinking our chocolate and wine rations for us. let us know how you get on with your consultation. Lisa C - sorry to hear it's all a bit of a mare with work - i had a similar time back in march with work. but, looks like you will be having ec on same day as me as I was told today after my scan it's likely to be Wed/Thurs of next week (I too thought mine would be Mon/Tues!!). Today was day 7 and had 20 follies, all at 12 mm which they seemed happy with. Traci - it's all getting closer for you!! best of luck!! frances - how did ec go? gem and ambar - good luck for your baseline (?) scan tomorrow. vicki - when's your ec? grace - how's the 2ww going? think you're the next to test in just over a week's time? I have a feeling about this one for you. hope I'm right!! dolly - you must be relieved to start stimmimg even if you don't like the injections!! wow, so many people to keep track of! lorraine, hope all goes well with ec. you nned to stand on your head now for the next 2 weeks! loupy, hope et goes well today, and you get some good eggies. traci, what an exciting weekend for you!! i hope all goes well for mandy, and shes fully deregged. gem, I saw a post that said you had a hospital app. today. not sure where everyone is with their tmt, where are you? is it a baseline? dolly, did you make a fuss with your injection? make sure you milk it for all its worth!! when are you due for ec? becky, how are you? is hubby ok now? dont worry about your sniffing being late. I never stuck to a set time...I did try but it was always within a couple of hours, and i always managed sackfulls of follies! lisa p, im sorry about your scan, I hope that it will be ok for you to go ahead, and Im hoping that at worst you will have the option to swap to an ivf cycle. lisa ch, not long now for till the 2 week headstand starts! take care all sorry not have included everyone, but lots of love to all and lots of pma! kathryn x

Hi everyone Hope you are all OK. We had mixed news today. We lost a few embies overnight and the ones we were left with on the whole were not brill. BUT they have managed to transfer 1 x grade 2 and 1 x grade 3. Now we sit back and wait. They have said that my age is a big factor, it seems that my eggs are not quite as good as they would have been a few years ago. However on the positive side we know KNOW that DH's sperm are capable of fertilising my eggs and because I have had a very good lap & dye result earlier in the year IUI is a very real option IF we need it. But I must admit I am feeling very down about it all at the moment. This has not been helped by the fact that I am still so b****y sore! Anyway, I will try very hard to keep lots of PMA as it is not over till the fat lady sings as they say, Love to you all Lorraine G

Thanks for all you kind messages - I've got my scan in the morning to see what happening with my follicles!! hopefully it'll be all okay. It's also my birthday so hopefully that'll be a good omen. Anyway we're off to the Lake District after all of that for the evening so that'l be nice either way. I'll let you know the outcome on my return on SUnday. Hi everyone Had first scan yesturday, thought 3rd time lucky what could go wrong, this is a natural FET yet they found a cyst on my right ovary, have to go back mon for a scan, if they can find a leading follicle we can go ahead, hopefully!! Anyway.... Gem - hope all went well today. Lisa P - good luck for tomorrow, blow your cares away on the lakes. Lorraine - you only need one, keep positive, my friend only had two embies and is now 5 months pregnant. Loupy - hope all went well today. Becky - don't worry, it happens to lots of us, hope you are back on track. Mel - I had the same on my first cycle, only two follicles they where going to cancel the EC, we decide to go ahead they found four, don't stress, anyway what day are you... most probably plenty of time yet. Dolly - Hope all went well with the first injection tonight. Traci - Hope all is going well, and that Mandy is downregging. Sorry running out of time, so many of us, catch up tomorrow, thinking of you all, sending loads of PMA... Love Ambar xxxx

Hi Everyone Its half term yipeeeee............................................... Been for my scan and bloods this morning and there was a few small follices and lining of womb is getting thicker,bloods ok I've got to go back to tomorrow morning for another scan and hopfully they will be able to tell me when et will be. wishing you all loads of PMA I'l let you know how it goes tomorrow Love Gemxx

Hi Girls Lorraine – I have read so many stories similar to yours where the eggs are grade 2 or 3 but the girls have ended up being pregnant, I’m sure Nicola from the SCB grade of egg was only average and now look she is pregnant, please stay positive( hope you don’t mind me quoting you Nicola I know you will read this as you are always keeping an eye on us all). Kathryn - It is lovely to hear form you thanks for the list, I keep getting confused who is where there are so many of us. Lisa P - Hope you get a good result from clinic enjoy the lake district, I’m originally from Cumbria I don’t get back much these days but I do love the North. Happy Birthday may all your birthday wishes come true. Loupy – Hope EC went well. Dolly - how was that first injection? Hope DH was gentle with you. Gem - good luck for scan tomorrow hope you get date for EC. Ambar – Good luck for Monday hope they find that leader. Becky – when reading through posts loads of girls have sniffed late don’t worry. I had bloods today and clinic have increased dose of Puregon to 200 units but they only gave my 600unit prescription so have to go back to clinic tomorrow for more as my next visit is day 9 day which is Tuesday, I have no date for EC yet. My cervical assessment was not as bad as I thought, took some advice from nurse at work as to how much water to drink and how long before scan to drink it, made such a difference not to be busting. Hey all, Just wanted to check in on the OCB gals, I just know there are going to be some more positives on this thread really soon! Lorraine: I've read time and time on this site about eggs of dubious quality going on to implant and make beautiful babies, lots of PMA required here! Lisa P: Happy birthday, am busting to know the outcome of your scan, looking forward to your post tomorrow (thought the Australia / UK time difference stumps me...) Loupy: All the best for your EC, what an exciting time, remeber to rest up afterwards, you need to prepare your body for the next stage towards pregnancy Dolly: Good luck with those injections! Gem: Do you have a date for EC yet? Ambar: Good luck love, lots of PMA to you!!! Becky: I was always a bit stressy about sniffing time, at one point I was chairing a meeting then remembered the sniff should have occurred ten minutes previously, and that my drug was at home half an hour away, I wrapped up the meeting so quickly, was all quite bizarre!! My doctor assured me though that its really only important to get the time absolutely right around the end of the sniffing time, ie just prior to EPU, so don't stress! Vicki B: Do you do Puregon in a pen?, wonder if people have found this easier than injections? Well chicks, I saw my doctor yesterday, my HCG had rised fairly dramatically since my test on Tuesday, so all appears good. I have my scan on week seven, as my doctor is away for a week whilst I'm in week six, what a drag!!! Look forward to keeping up with everyone's news Belinda

hello,i hope everyone is well, had ec yesterday they said i had 26 follicles but only 12 that were good enough to use (size i think?)anyway just had a call from clinic to say that 6 out of 12 have fertilized so et mon 11am.i was really sore afterwards but not to bad now just taking it easy until mon.best of luck to everyone .

Ambar, good luck for Monday Traci hope you have resolved your dilema, it never ends does it! Bel good to hear you are doing well, congrats again, not to long to go until your scan Vicki the water is a problem isn't it, my last scan I thought I was going to wet myself on the bed!! they kept pointing at my full bladder. I also have to continue an extra day and don't have enough drugs, my clinic doesn't have a chemist so have to go across town to get perscription for 1 more day ( hopefully anyway) Loopylou - good news, hope everything is okay on Monday Gem - that sounds like good news becky - how are you? how is DH getting on at home? okay I hope. Well fingers crossed for e/c on Wed, feels so strange this time don't know if anyone else feels this way. I don't feel like this is happening to me, I feel like I wake up and inject then come in from work and inject x 2 like a robot, I haven't had any twinges or hot flushes like last time. I think there is so much going on I am worried that I am not giving the treatment my best shot. Best wishes to you all, sorry there are so many to mention but PMA from me to you Lisa xx
