Thanks for all of the Welcoming. I REALLY feel welcomed, which is far better than how I was feeling b4 :?

DH gave me my second shot last night (his first time-mother-in-law-the resident RN of the house, gave me the first). I was REALLY nervous, but he did a GREAT job. Thanks guys for putting me at ease. I just can't wait until my baseline on the 25th. It feels like hundreds of years away. Also, thanks for putting my mind at ease about polyps.

Howdy,

From my bloodwork today, the Dr. says my estrogen levels are a bit high. Yesterday's bloodwork showed my estrogen level had doubled from the day before which was why she wanted me to come back today. The estrogen level today is at 2982. So tonight the Dr. doesn't want me to take the Menopur -Just the Gonal and Lupron. So, my EC won't be on Tuesday, since I don't get to trigger tonight. :-( I have another appt tomorrow and we'll see how that goes.

Vicki & Jodic: Good luck triggering tonight. Wishing you both many, many healthy eggs collected on Tuesday.

Aunty: I'm really sorry you're having such a hard time with all the headaches and flashes. I know you don't mind it, but I wish you could catch a break.

phxivf - WELCOME! Wow, you're far into your cycle. You'll be triggering in a couple days...good luck with everything. Has everything been going well for you so far with the cycle?

I'll check back in tomorrow.

Once I start stim, how many morning appts should I expect. I teach 4th grade and I am curious on what to expect. Also, do you guys recommend telling my boss what I am doing or what did you guys tell your employers. DH told his boss who was really understanding. My boss is a woman and I am afraid they will think of this procedure as "ELECTIVE", even though she seems very nice. Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon ladies!

I've not posted in the last few days, but I checked 2-3-4 times a day to see how you guys were doing. I just didn't feel like posting. I've really started to notice that I've been mentally and physically tired these last few days. I wake up tired, and I feel like taking naps or just play the couch potato during the rest of the day, even if I don't even have sleep problems. IBS calmed down, which is great. I had my second accu apt on Friday; went very well. He seems satisfied of the impact of the treatment; he said I seemed less tensed than last time. I had had one hot flash the night before (I was having a nightmare at the same time and my sleep was lighter, I guess that's why I felt it) and he treated it right away. I haven't had any other. Just that bizarre fatigue.

Hey, I don't remember who posted about their clinic's procedures for transfer (always day 3 or blastocysts), but I almost find it unfair... the data seems to be quite clear about this; the longer your embies survive in vitro, therefore, the closer you get to 6 days before transfer, the better your chances. I really find it too bad that some clinics don't seem to have the right techniques and/or skills and/or equipment to give their patients at least the option to wait longer till the blastocyst stage is reached.

Procrea clinic works that way: on day 3, the embryologist calls you to tell you how your embies are doing. That's when they decide when your transfer will be, depending on their strength and grade. From there, your transfer can be scheduled on day 3-4-5 or 6. Guess what number I pray for! ;)

I'll do my best with personals; forgive me if I forget anyone. :D

AMC CONGRATULATIONS again, sweetheart! Oh, it must feel even more real to have it confirmed by a blood test! I'm very happy for you! Do you plan to tell your family/friends right away or do you plan to wait? Keep us posted!

jodic what a tough rollercoaster ride for you dear! I'm SO relieved for you that everything seems to look, to quote you, perfect at this point! Good luck on the trigger shots and my thoughts are with you for your ER (which will be awfully early, ew!)

Shantala my friend, thanks for remembering that I exist! Your worry touched me a great deal, really *hugs*! I'm here and I'm fine! I'm very sorry that your IBS is misbehaving right now... poor thing; might it be the excitement of the open day that is coming? Or does your IBS usually misbehave during AF? (mine usually doesn't...) And thanks for posting about the new technique. It's simply fascinating! Are you considering it? I would love to show you my pic darling, but... I'm really not sure about a website. As a psychologist, I work with the public and there's always the slim chance that someone from Montreal might recognize me. However, if you PM me an email address, I'll be delighted to send you my pic and satisfy your curiosity. ;)

Bec Still thinking of you sweetie! I'm realy glad that you're not indisposed for the moment, other than with fatigue. I'll take fatigue 1000 times more than nausea! ;) And your ticker is still lovely to watch my dear!

tansRN I don't forget you my dear! I'm glad your DH is helping in every way he can. LOL after all, his thirty seconds of glory are well over, aren't they? Your work only begins! ;) *hugs* I'm with you in thoughts my dear.

Have a lovely evening, guys, and a nice week!

Sophie... glad to hear from you. I promised myself if I didn't, I would send you a PM message tonight to make sure all is o.k. Oddly enough I feel fatigued as well and am not sleeping well. Had an awful nightmare myself last night. As a psychologist, you would probably have a field day interpreting this one. I attribute my fatigue with anxiety around going through this again. I'm trying so hard to maintain a PMA, but I hate to get hopes up too high and then have disappointment. Hoping my week away next week with DH will recharge the batteries that are in desperate need of recharging. I've already told DH I'm bringing the laptop to keep in touch with my NBF's (new best friends--- that's what he calls all your wonderful ladies in this board).

hugs,

Cinny-- thought i would pop back in real quick and answer your questions... every clinic varies in terms of their monitoring schedule during stims. As for me, i have us(ultrasounds) starting on day 5 of stims, then every other day usually until pre-op (day before retrieval). Sometimes i can get early appt (around 7:00) and then can still make it to work on time. My clinic opens at 6:30am for bw so i don't have to miss work when that is all i need. As for telling boss... i think opinions will vary (depending a lot on the boss!! ). I didn't tell anyone until my first retrieval time, and wish i had done it sooner... would have saved some headaches. Now that a few people know, it is much easier for me, and they are able to move things around as needed. btw(by the way), i pm'd you. Good luck!

PMA: Welcome back. I am sorry to hear you are so tired... are you sick, or is it the meds?

Hello guys
Hope that things are going well for you guys this weekend...I feel like these two days have been an eternity! I hate the 2WW-it seems like in todays day and age we should have a test that would test sooner....Who knows....Maybe I should just create something....

Sophie
You are right about 30 seconds of glory!!! I understand what you are saying about the clinics...they should all try to follow a practice that works...My clinic always tries to go for blasts...Its weird how they vary though...

SC
Sorry about your estrogen levels. That is so hard to deal with. Lets just hope that everything works out fine for you to go ahead with EC-No cancellation here!!!

D
It is a lot of appointments isnt it? When I did my fresh cycle I felt like I was there for the whole month practically. It was wacky. I remember how bloated I felt. I looked pg already. I was so full feeling all the time and I would just go crazy in the morning trying to get out of bed towards the end. Hang in there...hopefully it will all be worth it and things will work just fine....

Sassy
Thank you for your patience wishes. That is really something that I am running out of already. I dont like delayed gratification!!! I just keep sitting here wondering about EVERYTHING!!!! Oh well I will know soon enough right???

Hope the rest of you are doing good....I will keep you posted.

hi ladies - back from the camping trip - beautiful w/e w just me and DH. Did a lovely coastal walk and got woken up very early by loud squawking birds (probably kookaburras!) but great to be out in the bush!

Great to see the discussion about kookaburras- mominwaiting very impressed by your knowledge of them!

Must try and do some work. Good luck to everyone with important appointments this week. I am thinking of you all - sorry can't do more personals at the moment but you are all in my thoughts.

Hi,

I hope someone can give me a little reassurance that this is normal when starting BCP's . .

I am usually very routine and AF only last 6 days. it is now 9 days after starting the BCP's and it is still hanging around.!!!!! Is this normal when starting the pill? I am also feeling really tired - Do other experience a similar effects when starting the pill?
Thanks,

CINNY1, if you are not comfortable talking to your boss about what is going on, you should at least tell your Human Resources person, that way if your boss complains about your (potential) absences, you have someone on your side. At the very least if you need to, you can take personal leave of absences for medical reasons and you do not need to go into detail, unless you want to.

I worked in HR for a few years and know how to work the system... lol.

Thanks cook, my dh keeps saying that I should just tell her and whatever happens just happens. It feels good to have his undying support. I think I'll just wait until the baseline so I know fully what we are dealing with. I CAN'T WAIT to find out what's going on inside of me. I was soooo afraid of the shots and the BCP, but so far I guess I feel ok.
I am soooooooo happy to have found this site. Thanks ladies/gents.

Hey Jodi awww its looks fab on you, you know what though right??? its got to be changed LOL....oh and your not dumb at all its tricky at first ...im doing good thank you still really tired headaches are at night now so i can cope with that ....hugs

Kiwi yes i have heard lots of ladys say they had extended bleeding on BC also i cant even tell you how tired i have been i wake up and i need to go back to sleep and that can only be from the pill because ive taken Lupron before ...so yeah i think your perfectly normal if you get too worried it wouldnt hurt to call your clinic and let them know im sure they will reasure you ...hugs

Cinny i agree with cook just jump in you may be surprised and at least you know you have your hubbys backing thats so sweet the last thing you want to do is be stressing over your work its not worth the worry

SC i hope your levels have evened out tomorrow for you its a worry isnt it but at least you know you have lots of mature follies in there...

D i would get some gatorraid and V8 for your few days between EC and ET dont drink them after ET also limit your intake of water to 1L a day if your already bloated you could get OHSS even when its mild its uncomfortable better safe than sorry...hope it helps.

Love to all Aunty

Hey Ladies

Am back with a vengeance after a few days off the boards. Gosh this is a busy one, can't keep track of it all!

Aunty, I have just started AF and so I think will be starting stims for my FET in a couple of days.

Fed that means we're not quite in sync, but hey you never know I may catch up.

Have to rush off now, it's 5.00pm and I'm off home!
