HELP

Post by kristenfig »

Hello to all,

Just a brief history of myself. I am 36 years old, in good health and went through the year of trying, HSG test and tubes are patent, my husband was checked out and is okay. I pushed to move ahead to go to the specialist. I had blood work which revealed a slight elevation in FSH from month to month ranged 9 to 12. I have a low egg reserve. I have had 2 unsuccessful months with clomid and inseminations. Just took a month break and now am about to begin another cycle with injectable medication and insemination which will be done 2 times before approaching IVF. Is anyone else in this situation and if so do you know of any new material out there that would provide me with some statistics on this. I am going to a great doctor or so I am told I am. I don't find the office or him to be Mr. personality though so it seems any time I ask something the response is it would have been easier for you 10 years ago...

I realize that I have a couple of questions and my mind is jumping around a bit, but can someone help me...

Kind regards,

Kristen

HELP

Post by Lisa Ch »

Hi Kristen
sorry I can't really help. Just wanted to say that sort of response is crap and you must insist on getting some answers to your questions from the clinic. What have they said about your FSH levels?? What injectable medication are you taking?
I have been trying to conceive for 7 years(am now 32) and I had 6 months with clomid then 3 months injecting Gonal F before I was refered to a fertility clinic ( on my insistence) 2 1/2 years later I am still on their waiting list, we have paid for a private cycle of IVF and I have pushed to transfer to another clinic to be seen quicker. I am now on my 2ww for IVF.

Sorry for rambling what I am trying to say is that I (and I am sure lots of girls will agree) have had to push for treatment etc and you have to be firm and ask as many questions as you need, that is what they are there for.

Best wishes for a successful outcome, let me know how you get on

Love Lisa x

HELP

Post by kristenfig »

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your support and encouragement. I am going to start gonal-f tonight ( I did 2 rounds of clomid with no success-I did produce eggs but they were not fertilized). My fsh level was 9 2 months ago and 10.7 last month. (I thankfully pushed ahead to see this specialist,as my gyn told me to just keep on trying-I knew something was wrong). I have to do 2 cycles with gonal-f before reaching IVF. The doctor has said the higher the level of fsh, the lower chances of having a healthy good quality and quantity of eggs. Why do you have to be on a waiting list? I hope everything works out well for you...I will keep you updated and would like to know how you are doing....This does really help to talk to other people about this...Kristen
