Hi
following your posts I noticed a few of you take baby aspirin. I went to Boots to get some and they have given me 'Dispersible Aspirin BP 75mg' are these the right things?
It says on the back - not to give to children under 16, as there is a risk of Reye's syndrome. Do not take if pregnant or breast feeding.
Have they given me the wrong type??

I don't want to take them incase they are different to what you take.

PLease help
Thanks Lisa x

PS going for e/c tomorrow
Hi Lisa,

I too went and bought baby aspirin (the same ones you have) after reading other posts from girls who have taken them. However when I went to my clinic to collect my drugs I asked about taking them. I was advised that I should only take them if specifically instructed to by my doctor. Apparently they are normally prescribed to women who suffer specific problems with clotting and suffer recurrent miscarriage. If I were you I would check with your clinic first.

Good Luck with your treatment

Love

Julie.
Lisa

These are the right ones - I had these - one tmt did not work and the other did - I lost our baby at 20 weeks for some horrible reason - ( we still wait the post mortem!) Tests were showing that women taking aspirin had a better chance of conceiving and these were the fad of the moment - I go back a few months now and many still take them. I did not have clotting problems but my doctors said they were not proven but would not harm. THe other day my specialist said from her studies women taking them had been LESS successful -and not to take them in my case - this has put me in a quandry as I had it in my stupid head that this was a strong factor in me getting PG - I would probably not take them now as nothing is proven - a lot of it is MENTAL i think and I convinced myself it was going to work because I took them.
Good luck anyway
Love
Tracey
Hi Lisa,
Our first ICSI was abandoned and the second failed .... I was looking for anything I could do to improve my chances. Lots of girls on here had said that they'd had succcess where they'd previously failed so I decided to take them, just up until the day before EC then I stopped cos I heard that aspirin (albeit they are v. low dose) had a connection with miscarriage. The ICSI was succesful though so I thought they may have had some benefit - who knows, it's a minefield.

I didnt tell my clinic, I just thought they may thin the blood supply to the uterus slightly. A lot of GPs and clinics seem to not have much of an opinion one way or another - it's hard.

BUT......WISHING YOU LOTS OF GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR TREATMENT - THERE HAVE BEEN POSITIVES FOR THOSE TAKING IT AND THOSE NOT TAKING IT SO DONT WORRY TOO MUCH!!

LOVE, JO. xxx
Hi Tracy and Jo

thanks for taking the time to reply. Congratulations Jo hope you are well

Tracy sorry again about your loss, can't believe how long it takes to find out what happened, but hope that you soon get the answers you need to try and help you move on.

Just back from e/t they didn't say what grades they were but 1 looked a 4/5 cell and the other was a 7 cell. So fingers crossed again for some good news.

With love Lisa x
Lisa

just back from ec and have been told to take 75 mg aspirin and heparin from tomorrow. this was because of my blood results so guess it depends on the individual whether you need to take them or not. beckym xx
Lisa,

I did take baby aspirin but only because I was advised by my clinic. They say that it helps keep the blood thin but they advise when to start them and when to finish them. I had my 1st tmt and it worked for me, but at the end of the day was this the help from the aspirin who knows??? I wish you all the luck and please let us know, and lets hope you come to join us on the other side.

Tracey - I have been wondering how you are and how you are coping? it was nice to see you post on board, can't believe you are stil waiting for the post mortem it must be tortune for you.
