Meg: Brava, meg, brava!!!! When i told dh, he said "i knew we should have had more sex!". I had to remind him that i have not had a "natural" menstrual cycle since july (either on bcp, having AF, on hormones, or stimming  ). Typical male response  .

Druiett: Funny you should mention pity party... my bf is a marriage and family therapist and a few months when i was overwhelmed with preg women, etc... she recommended i have “Sassy’s Pity Party” every day. Exactly 30 min long, every day at the same time. during the day when i felt overwhelmed, sad or sorry for myself, i was supposed to write down what was up, and deal w/it in the pity party ... worked like a charm and now i only need it about once a wk :D . btw. my FET is scheduled for Thursday. How is the patience coming?

PMA: Sorry about the HA. Ibuprofen (advil) is technically not contraindicted in pregnancy until the 3rd trimester, but most MDs recomend preg women do not take it. My clinic make us sign something when starting stims that we will not take ibuprofen or aspirin during stims (i am aware of reports that ibuprofen and aspirin can interfere w/ovulation, and can reportedly interfere w/fetal implantation, but i don't know that either risk has been clearly established.. but not entirely sure why i can't take during stims... but i have abided by their policy). We are told to stick to Tylenol—I hope it works!
As for the friend issue. This is a little off topic... but you said your friend is in residency... is that a medical residency (you mentioned she does 30 hr shifts sometimes?). I ask b/c having been through a med residency (36 hr shifts 2-3 times a wk, working 7 days a wk), i can tell you all i did was work, eat, sleep and occasionally go to dinner w/hubby. It was H@ll (oooo... the understatement of all understatements!!!), and it took a toll on friendships. If they have been good, supportive friends in the past, i agree w/giving them the benefit of the doubt. I think all of us at sometimes find that we are wrapped up in what is happening in our lives (or maybe i should just speak for myself  ), and miss opportunities to be as supportive as others in our lives would like. I agree w/letting them know what you need. If they are truly good friends, they will be there for you as much as then can. good luck!!!

Phxivf: congrats on having 6 embryos! GL for transfer tom

Know i am missing lots of people... will try to catch up later tonight.
Hoping everyone having a great wkend!

Well we went to our Saturday appointment today and they found 39  follicles with 5 under 5mm, so we are triggering tonight!!! I am excited, but I am having a hard time staying awake to get my HCG shot at 9:30 pm. We were a half hour late for our appointment this morning because we overslept, so this is the second appointment in two days that we were late for… But I get to blame the meds for making me so tired, DH has no excuse. I am still waddling, a bit more now, but oh, this hurts . I am accustomed to being uncomfortable in my abdomen because I get cysts, but this is a bit more pain. I went to tea with friends this afternoon and had to wear a tight dress in hopes that I will not be able to wear it again for 11 months. But I had a heck of a time sucking in my tummy, ah well, I do it to myself. Hehehe.

On Monday, we will be doing ICSI so they estimate that they will do the transfer next Saturday.

Becleo, thanks for the link!

AuntyPebbles, I did not know about the photobucket page, I will check it out!

Druiett, thank you!

Fed7281, your numbers are sounding great!

Meg12, it is not just you. I have felt the pang  But that is wonderful about your hb, congrats, again!

Charlie78, my AF stayed for a week when I was stimming and it usually lasts for 2-3 days.

Phxivf, 6 gives you several to choose from so congrats! :D

cook: congrats on all those follicles!!! How cool that you get to trigger tonight. Enjoy your one day off of injections tomorrow!

Started my PIO again tonight, and thought i would pass something on to you ladies. I have found that for me, it works well when dh lightly rubs my hip/butt around where he is injecting. it is distracting, and i don't feel the pain as badly as before we figured that out. It also helped me when i was doing menopur. Hopefully someone else will find it helpful... (btw... thought it was cute that dh was all nervous to inject me, said he was out of practice as it had been a WHOLE month since the last shot)

Hi, Ladies. We had the ET this morning (Saturday). 2 embies were transferred. They gave us a picture of the two little darlings they were putting back. It's amazing that these two little "globs", for lack of a better term, could grow into human beings...wow! I've been staring at them all day. I think they're two little girls :-)

I go back on 1/24 for the estrogen and progesterone level check and back on 1/31 for the BIG test! A day b4 my birthday...2 days b4 hubby's birthday...what a nice present that would be for both of us...

Cook: 34 follicles! Girl, I'm amazed you can walk at all, talk about waddling! I hope the pain subsides soon. Good luck with the trigger.

Ems: I'm sure the left ovary is working overtime for both ovaries and you will get many strong eggs. Don't stress too much.

Shantala: I'm rooting for you that your doc lets you start in February. What's the point of having you wait, anyway...tell them we need to get this show on the road!

becleo: Awww!...A little raspberry...take care of that raspberry.

druiett: hoping your 3 embryos are making themselves at home for the next nine months.

jodic: Is everything okay? I don't think I've seen a post from you since you told us about your hospital visit. I hope you're feeling better by now. I hope in this case no news is good news. Please let us know that you are doing well.

nouna: I only took the day of EC off and went back to work the day after. For the ET, the doc said to stay off my feet for 36 hours. If my transfer would have been Monday I would have taken Monday/Tuesday from work, but it ended up being on a Saturday, so I'll be back at work on Monday. You have to go with what feels right for you, though.

phx: Ditto on the progesterone shots! My booty is so sore! :? Good news on the 6 embies. Good luck with the two that you will be transferring back. I'm sure you stated when that would be, but I don't remember. Whenever it is, I'm sure they'll snuggle in nicely and won't even think about leaving for 9 months.

Meg: My hero! Wow, that's amazing. I'm so glad you got the confirmation from the blood test. You and DH must be in complete shock right now. After 5 years?! Wow! Wow, that's all I can say. You are blessed with a natural pregnancy...now you just take care of yourself and that little one.

Aunty: I'll be checking out photobucket.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, ladies.

Hey sassy!

A quick note before I go to bed. Thanks for commenting about my friend. Yes, she is a medical resident. She's doing her general practice residency and basically, I lost my part of my best friend when she started studying medicine because of course she was not available anymore as she used to be. This is her dream, and I would never wish things were different for her; she had to apply 4 years in a row before she got in medical school; I'm very happy for her.

You really don't need to describe what the life of a resident or doctor is. My father is a cardiologist, my mother is a psychiatrist and my father remarried with a surgeon who specialises in breast cancer and does research. I dated two residents, one in anaesthesiology and one in neurosurgery before I met my sweet husband. Believe me... I know what this is about.

It takes two seconds to send a note by email or leave a message on one's answering machine between two patients. I've been working five jobs in five different places, worked evenings, had a very busy life and didn't get to see my husband as much as I'd liked either, and yet I still remembered each time her menses were due when she's been trying to conceive these past months. And I did send these notes and made these calls.

Going through hell while surviving sacro-sanct med school should not be an excuse for forgetting to show your best friend of 14 years that you care. Just like my grandmother's mother used to say, "The time you have is the time you take."

Nothing against you dear sassy, but I just won't take the "residency is hard" as an excuse when my demands are nothing but a note or a hello on my answering machine here and there. It's not like I'm asking her to come with me to my appointments and hold my hand all the way through. I'm not saying she's a bad friend; she's done amazing things these past months. I'm just saying she's disappointing me with her attitude so far as I'm doing my first cycle ever and she knows she's one of my rare sources of support.

Good night sweetie,

Sophie

PS and thanks a lot to all those who gave me advice for Advil. I'll stick to Tylenol from now on; the headache didn't come back though, yay! It seems to be dormant for now.

Sophie: I'm sorry if you were disturbed by my post. I wrote it with the intention of being helpful. I did not say, nor did I mean to imply that her residency is an EXCUSE for not being supportive of you. Only that it may be an explanation why such a good, supportive friend may have suddenly become self-focused, and may need reminding of what it is you need from her. Clearly you are familiar with her residency demands, but I had no way of knowing that. You said in your previous post that you were planning on making your expectations and needs clearer next time, and I was just attempting to support you in that. I am sorry that your friends have disappointed you, that must be difficult, especially when you are going through your first (and hopefully last!) IVF and need/want their support badly. I sincerely hope that things change and that your friends again become as supportive to you as you have been to them.

Sophie, Maybe you should send your friends this link and let them walk 2 mins in your shoes. I sent this about 6 months ago to my family and friends and they all emailed me back saying how sorry they were and that they never understood how hard this has been.
