rotten news - embies not likely to make et

I'm sorry to say that we are not likely to make et tomorrow. I am trying to be as positive as I can but the clinic rang up this morning and we have only got 4 embies left (out of 31 eggs) and those have only made 2-cell stage (on day 2). This is worse than last time when we at least had a couple of 4-cellers on day 2 which were put back. The 2-cellers that we had last time at day 2 didn't divide any more after that. I am gutted as it seems that our embies don't divide properly and no-one seems to know why. It seems pointless going through another cycle if the embies aren't dividing properly to make it to et. sorry to be so negative but it has been a rough day. beckym xxx

Oh Becky that's awful. I can't believe you've gone from your record haul on Friday to having so few left. Please don't give up hope though - they may just be slow starters and lots of people have had positives from "low quality" embies. Desperately hoping that at least one carries on dividing for you. Becky, I am really sorry that you are having such an awful time. I don't know if it helps to say that bewteen 2-4 cells is normal for Day 2. There are people on here that have become pregnant with embryo's like these and they can suddenly speed up. God it is so hard, I am really praying like mad for you. Love Rach XX
