Angie65 I have come to the conclusion men and alarm clocks don’t mix. 6 year on and I still double check to make sure it has been turned on and set for the right time

All those with DH frustrations – there must be something in the water – or perhaps the doctors give them “anti happy pills” or something we are not aware of at the same time as we are going through everything…….. DH and I have a happy and relaxed life together and very rarely hit any bumps - but today – I don’t know what is with him…..it must be the water or something…..

On a more serious note I think all the pressure, hopes and anxiety put everyone a little on edge (us and our DH’s). While they don’t have to go through all the injections it is their hopes and dreams as well as ours on the line during this time. I am sure their moodiness and often inconsiderate actions are because they are a little on edge and stressed about every thing also (regardless if they are consciously aware of it or not) and they feel helpless to be able to “fix it” or make it better.

Also all the treatment at this stage and concern is focused on us – perhaps our guys are feeling a little “out there” and vulnerable also…….we are expected to be wound and moody and it is often assumed it is life as normal for the guys……

Sophie, Friendship and support come from the most unlikely places and people you expect to be supportive often aren’t and then there are those who you don’t expect to who really step up to the mark.

Quite a few people know we are finally starting ivf (I think DH had told almost everyone – as he was so proud his boys were still there after all these years……) and even though we are still in the early stages it is amazing how much a kind word from someone unexpected can help carry you for hours or even days.

JackieG (and everyone else still waiting), 3 weeks and counting – it will go by before you know it. We had delay after delay (4 years ago we visited a specialist wanting TESA and ICIS and they recommended a reversal instead. We were to start IVF-ICIS in July 2006 and then there were more delays – now we are finally beginning what we wanted to start 4 years ago….) I found it very hard to deal with for some time and had to find a way to turn all the delays into a positive thing so it was a little less upsetting……..
The conclusion I came to and the attitude I now try to hold onto is that when our baby finally arrives we will not be able to imagine him/her being any different than who he/she is. If our baby had been born earlier it would have been a completely different person and we never would have had this child. Our child will have a purpose in life and we just have to be patient for the right time for him/her to be born. If it was born any earlier he or she will not be who they are destined to be.

Ange, Rest and relaxation – the ideal indulgence during this time. I hope you had a lovely break together

Aunty An update on my details.

I finally start my Buserlin shots tomorrow morning. I work away from home 3 days a week so the first injection tomorrow morning will be on my own – wish DH was with me – should be getting an early night but just noticed it after 11pm already (time flies trying to catch up with all this !!!)

I have a blood test on the 5th Feb (suppression check) then onto Puregon and everything going to plan egg collection will be the week of the 19th Feb

Talking about how nice people can be…. My DH and I have an old homestead where we occasionally hold weddings and functions in the weekends. We have a wedding booked for the 24th February (this will be a day or 2 after ET!!!) I was talking to the nurse at our clinic about dates and timing and how I have a BIG problem on the 24th (I don’t want to do anything for a few days after ET that is going to risk this not working……) she offered to come up and do anything she could to help on the 24th if we wanted. I thought she was only kidding but the other day she when she called me about some blood tests she again said she is happy to come up for the day and give us a hand. I was so touched with a person’s kindness. Some people are soooo lovely.

Eveyone else sorry there are not more personals – I think I have taken up too much space already !!!!!

Those starting egg food – yummy, yummy yummy!!!

Those waiting for your triggers – those eggs are ready for the next stage of their adventure (take care of them for the next 36 hours – they have a big adventure ahead).

For everyone on EC- You are all in my thoughts. Send your eggs out into the world for a sneak preview. May they be strong and determined to meet the other ½ of who they were destined to become !!!!!

ET’s – Welcome your little ones back to settle in for their 9 month snooze with their mum to be !!!!

2WW – A lesson in patience – may time pass quickly. Give your little ones lots of love and cuddles as they make their new home.

Well I have been feeling wound up all weekend and today – just writing here has made me feel sooooo much better. I feel in a much better frame of mind for tomorrow. Thanks guys

Cook, Macca, Ems.....Good Luck with your EC's today, I am thinking of all of you!

Well ladies, i think winter finally hit us here in Wisconsin. Started snowing late Saturday night, and hasn't quit yet. My poor DH plowed for 6 hours, came home for 4 hours, plowed for 5 more hours, and now has to leave again in 2 hours. I hate that because I cannot sleep when he is not there!

Well it's a good thing I have a cure for that! I'm going for a little retail therapy!

Chat at ya all later!

I went to hospital for a scan just make shure that i hadnt had a miscarriage but thankfully they dont think i have. Im not use to being heavy always been really lite since doing IVF so i guess thats why i paniced but doc said there was nothing to worry about and it was just a normal AF.I feel a bit stupid now

Hi all,

All those on EC today, good luck and rest up.

Mom20, sorry i can't help but my GP does telephone consults if you are unable to get an appointment or its just a question, you just leave a number and they call you when they have a minute that day, and they are very discreet, i've had them call me at work before.

Regarding moody hubby's, mine always gets PMT with me, he says i'm a nightmare but he is always grouchy at my time of the month, and during suppression this time he's been a nightmare. We always have a laugh about it after the event. We lived away from family and friends for 13 years and moved a lot with our jobs (we also work together) so we are best friends as well, it was just us for so many years its like we are joined at the hip.

Aunty not long now to eggy food time, are you excited?

To everyone else, take care and lots of sticky baby dust to you all.
got to get back to work.
Love J

Good morning ladies!

How are you doing? I'm doing fine! It's very sunny today (so it's very cold!) and the white snow is sparkling everywhere! There is a light breeze so the air itself is sparkling, too. It's a really pretty sight! I had a very light sleep tonight and I woke up slightly bloated and with a light headache and very mild dizziness. I still have a slight twinge in my right side and the left is kind of tender, too. Tee hee hee, that's the feel of life and new hopes! :D Grow eggies, grow!

Thanks to shantala and Ange for replying to my comment about my friend. As I wrote in earlier posts, I sent her an email on Saturday evening. She replied yesterday evening, telling me that she had been very touched by my email; her reply was very mature and sensitive. To make a long story short, we talked on the phone, and I think she knows what I need much better now. As I suspected, I needed to make my expectations and needs clearer. She understood them and I think it will be okay from now on.

Wow, there are so many things happening today! Good luck to cookholmes, Macca and Ems who are going through EC today! I really am with you in thoughts and I pray hard for you to have a smooth procedure! And of course I'm cheering your DH's little swimmers mentally! Go guys, go!

Aunty, just a detail about the list. My first stimming blood check is tomorrow morning, the 23rd, and not the 24th. Just a detail! ;) Other than that, how are you doing?

mom: awww sweetie, you're NOT stupid! You're counting on your body to behave for your next ivf and then it starts doing things you're not used to! Of course it's puzzling! It's always easy to feel silly after everything has been explained to you, but hey, consider things in their context! Hey, it sounded like a pretty heavy flow, and I would have at least made a call, too. I'm glad everything is explained now and that AF has calmed down a little bit. I tend to vary a lot in the amount of clots I get while having AF.

Okay, off to Pilates while I still can! ;)

Take care ladies, and I'll see you around!

Shantala. good luck tomorrow with the baseline and practice! You made me laugh with the stirups(?) comment. It's so funny because when you give birth you have all these nurses holding your legs and moving them all around to help manuver the baby down, then of course there is dh telling you he loves you and all that stuff! Can't wait for you to go through it!

Have any of you had a med student observe? Shantala stirup(?) comment reminded me of the med student that observed my whole process last month.....I really should have sold tickets!

tc - haha...glad i made you laugh! i know, we worry (well i do) about all these things and they are all quite little compared to giving birth!! and its quite ironic to think that i worry about these little things that i request to have to hopefully give birth some day!! hahaha...

no, never been observed by a med student....oh, no, whats the bet there will be on there tomorrow!!
