Help!

Okay, I'm freaking out here. I did IVF in November with a BFN, and then miracle of miracles found out that I was pregnant naturally this weekend! I'm really having a hard time not freaking out with worry. My hcg level was 1630, which from what I can tell on the Internet (man, I hate this internet!!!) is on the low side because I think I'm 5-6 weeks along. My doctor didn't seem too concerned--but it was the weekend doctor and I really don't like her as I can never get a good read what she's feeling. I'm going back on Friday for an ultra sound, but I can't stop worrying.

Does anyone have some advice on how to not give myself a panic attack?????????

First of all,

You must stay calm!!!!! The more you stress, the more stressed the baby feels. As for the HCG numbers, ignore them! Everyone is different. Until they do an ultrasound, you will not know how far along the baby is. They only have a guess based on LMP. So relax and enjoy the excitment of being pregnant.

CONGRATS!!!!! That is fabulous news! I know it is so hard to stay calm. I started out at about 6wks bleeding and had to wait for a week for ultrasound to see if everything was ok, after an er dr told me it was probably not a viable pregnancy and here I am at 29 wks doing fine. The worry is going to be there no matter what I guess. Just love on your DH and worry together. I'll be praying for you. Friday isn't too far away. Good luck to you Sweets!! Let us know!!

Just wanted to say big congratulations to you! How exciting! You hear about it happening, but it must be weird when it does happen to you!

I don't really have any advice for you as I am still stressing, and will try and relax a little after my 12 week scan, but friends keep saying to me to stop worrying and that the majority of pregnancies are fine. Sometimes it's just hard to think we can be so lucky! All I can say as I keep telling myself is stressing out will do no good for either of us, so try and stay as calm as possible and enjoy your scan on Friday. Thinking of you

Meg- Congrats! I was so happy to hear your wonderful news, DH and I are hoping not to resume IVF in May and get preg nat like you!!! At least we know there's hope! Don't worrry about the HCG levels, US today, good luck, hope it goes well!! Every week we had a US and every week we worried, relax, everything will be fine. Please update when you get results!

Thanks again for all the words of encouragement. My scan was fine this morning. My bloodwork looked good and there was about a week's worth of growth evident, so that's good. The ultrasound technician gave me a heart attack because she said she thought we should see the heart, but we didn't. So I was a nervous wreck waiting the two hours for the blood results. Grrrrrrrr. Hopefully, we'll see the heart next week.

How often do you guys go in for ultrasounds? This every week thing is killing me--both emotionally and financially! (We don't have insurance so each scan and bs is $500!!!!!) (Not that I'm complaining. I will pay anything to have this baby healthy!)

Meg, great news! They sure keep ya nice and stressed out with scans and such eh? I had a scan @ 6wks (emergency room) 7wks, 9 wks, and then 20 wks and probably not anymore if things keep going well. I hope you can see that hb this week. Do you go in friday again? I'll be watching for more news. Sounds good so far though!! Good luck!
