I have 5 frozen embryos left over from my last cycle and having just bought a big house, and stretched ourselves to do, so we cant afford to have anymore and also having 1 boy and 1 girl we feel anymore children would be unfair to either sex.
My problem is what to do with the embryo's. We cant afford to keep them in storage, yet I cant bring myself to let them perish as I feel I would be killing my little boys twins.
Any thoughts anyone, this decision is killing me.
Thanks in advance
Susie

hi. we where going to donate our embies to our clinic.
but we ended up using all of ours.
we had waited a long time to see about getting adopted embies but none came.
so if you can you would be giving someone else a chance
of having there dreams.
we werent blessed with our babies to raise here but we our blessed with our grandaughter
and all of our many adopted and foster children that touch our lives
and i am glad to add that our 6th grandchild will be born this spring!!!!
Susie,
What an amazing gift you could be giving to someone. I know that's easy for me to say because it isn't my decision to make(yet) but, after all I've gone through if I am blessed to have leftover embryos on my next cycle I will know exactly what to do with them. I can't think of a greater gift to give someone. Sorry if I am too opinionated about this but, it is something that means so much to me. I am sure when the time is right you will know what to do. Best wishes.
Hi, Thanks for the replies. I admit i have thought about donating them , but I am not sure as I'd be allowed as I have PCOS. At the end of the day I have been extremely lucky with my ICSI and I know what people go thru to have a baby, and couldnt imagine life without my 2. How would I go about donating? Do I just phone the clinic, does anyone know? Also, I know its unlikely, but when my children meet a boyfriend / girlfriend how would I know it isnt their brother or sister?
AAAHhhhhhh this is so difficult!
Thanks again

The clinic will write to you when payment is due, you can make a decision then.
I had 7 frozen embryos that we no longer needed, i was the same as you, couldnt really afford to keep them and no longer wanted anymore babies.
I wanted to donate to another couple but unfortunately was 36 at time of egg collection so too old.You are asked to attend counselling and blood tests if you make this choice.
I did think that if i had donated them,i would always have wondered what if? Would i pass a baby in the street and see myself?
Selfish as it may sound to some i was slightly releived that i couldnt donate, because of this. It must be a normal feeling because they offer counselling.
You have to do what you feel is right for you.
I therefore donated them to be used for research.
I wanted to keep them as they are my babies but thought it was pointless as i wouldnt use them and they can only be frozen for 10 years anyway!
I count my blessings every day for my two gorgeous girls.
