Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing great. I am very busy getting ready to leave on vacation. Hey Vicki what is the weather like in Florida right now? I am just curious since we will be there on vacation on Thursday. I am looking forward to taking a break from all of this IVF stuff for a couple of weeks. I have my saline sonogram on February 19th and then I plan to start stims on March 4th. Well I better go finish packing since this week at work will be crazy trying to get caught up before leaving.

Jill, so we will have you here in Florida soon??, that is great!!. The weather is kind of changing, mostly is warm (between 70's and 80's), but this past weeks we have been having some cool fronts (40's-50's), so bring your summer clothes and also so nice sweaters in case you have some of the cool fronts!!.
Hope you have a fabulous vacation!!, where in Florida are you going??. I live in Broward County (Miramar, near the Sawgrass Mall...)

Hi Vicky, thanks for the packing advice! We are flying into Orlando and heading out towards Tampa and Venice beach for a few days and then heading to Daytona. My husband drives a dirt track race car her in Minnesota in the summer so we are going to Florida to watch speed weeks at East Bay Raceway Park and Volusia Speedway. We are also going to the Daytona Budweiser Shoot out Nascar race. The temperatures there sound beautiful compared to the 10 degrees we have here today. I am not sure where Broward County is in Florida. Is it anywhere near where I am going?

Hi all! Thanks for all your replies...i have done more reading and everything i have read suggests that my PCOS may not be significant. It sounds like a very complicated syndrome and has several signs and symptoms none of which seem to match what i have...my cycles used to be a little irregular, but for the last year they have been reg and to be honest I'm a little annoyed that the sonographer has told me without really arranging for me to discuss it with the doctor as to what this means for me and not really giving me the opportunity to ask questions...i plan to talk to someone tomorrow...but it's so hard because i feel i can't be too assertive as somehow i'm at the mercy of them!! It's so frustrating!

Anyway had to share!

Jill, looks like you are going to have a great time!!, Broward County is about 40 miles north of Miami. So you are going to be more towards north than were I live. About 2-3 counties north.....For the stay in Orlando I would take more winter clothes, since it is a bit colder there (oh well, whatever cold is for a Floridian.... ). I hope you have a great time, it really sounds fun!!!!!.

Nerms, you are right about the us tech, he/she shouldn't have told you only part of the story, you don't reach to a diagnosis just by a piece of the story, so you should definitely talk to your RE to find out more. I know what you mean about us being at their mercy, but he still should know what you think about all this, maybe you can try to say it in a nice way.......GOOD LUCK!!!

70-80's thats lovely temp, I just had to work it out thats one thing, USA and UK are so differnt but so similar....We do temps in c not f.....

It's only 6c here today (42f) which is actually quite mild, last week it was down to 0c..... and snow!!!

Also can I ask what is RE??? It's the american term for Doctor I think, but what does it stand for???

Just quickly answering Nicky's question:

RE = Reproductive Endocrinologist (i.e. "fertility doctor"); endocrinology is the study of hormones.

I've also had to learn all the US terms as I'm from Northern Europe and also a non-native speaker of English. Americans love abbreviations and clipped word forms!

More later, still have a killer headache so staring at the screen doesn't agree with me...

Hi there ladies,
I had a myomectomy in Nov. due to fibroids.
The Dr. is planning March IVF for me; this will be my
first time. I was told to call in about 2 weeks, CD1 for blood tests and
HSG.
Can somone please direct me to resources to purchase the IVF meds?
I remember seeing something on this forum about some online/mail order
pharmacies.

Hi Karma, welcome to this forum!!!!. So you are starting your first IVF journey??, I wish you the best. Of course we are all here for you if you have questions or just want to vent about something, some of us have already been through a cycle, so we have some experience on this rollercoaster.
About the pharmacy, my RE called in my prescriptions to a pharmacy called ivpcare, they have a website www.ivpcare.com. They specialize in injectable meds, so I had everything through them.......hope it helps!!!

Holly, I understand what you say about your friends, the other day I was talking about that with my DH. About how all of our friends that started trying after us they all have already delivered or are pregnant, which is hard for us of course..........so totally understand where you are coming from....

Hi Karma, and welcome to the forum! I'm at loss with the meds too - I guess my RE will be able to help me with that when I go in for my CD2 exam. At least I hope so... Good luck with your IVF journey and hopefully we'll be seeing you here!

Holly, I SOOOO feel for you... been there and it's not fun. I was the first one of my good friends to be pregnant - and now they all have babies or are pregnant and I have nothing except sad memories and a lot of operations performed. It hurts. I think it's great that we have this place where we can actually say these things out loud, without anyone thinking that we are wishing our friends ill or that we would want anyone else to have to go through what we have gone through. A big hug to you, hope you are feeling a little bit better...

Nicky, how was your day today? I was so sorry to hear work sucked again on Friday. Hopefully the IVF will do the trick and before you know it you'll be out of there

Hi Girls...hope you all had a good monday...thank god it's over with!!! I hate mondays!! To add to it, didn't sleep so well last night...kept thinking about PCOS..so was tired this morning!

Holly I so understand where you are coming from, all my friends have had babies now, both younger and older than me, one "distant" friend reminded me recently that out of all of us, and there was about 9 of us, who got married 02/03 i'm the only one who hasn't had a baby...gee thanks for telling me!!!!! don't you think i've noticed!!! big sigh!!!..life goes on hey!

I spoke with doc this morning who reassured me that having cysts in my ovaries does not mean that i have PCOS...the latter is a syndrome associated with many other symptoms, primarily i still get an af each month so i don't have too much to worry about...they may need to alter my dosage but not much else..so fingers crossed!

How is everyone else doing?

HI EVERYONE!!!!

Work was ok today, still a stressy atmosphere, but went in 2day with the attitude, i will do what I need to do and sod the rest, it did work, but everyone round me was just busy busy busy and no-one really chatted much, no time really...But i didnt go outta my way to do more, just did what i could.....I am fine at home, no stress here....

Rae, thx for the RE explanation, thought it was like that!!!

Holly, totally un-fair this wrold isn't it??? wed in Feb and alreday with child!!! wow!!! My friend was wed in Sept02 had 1st child Sept 03, 2nd child Aug 05 and now just had twins, Dec 06,
we wed Mar01, started trying dec 01 and still to get preg!!!! Annoying huh???

Nerms, I had a feeling it wasn't PCOS, only coz i had similar a few years back when they said i might have PCOS, so reserached it all, and it was nothing. apparently we all have cyst, its nothing to worry about!!

Vicky & Rae, has the AF arrived yet???
