HI Cat- that sounds great. Last time I went through this I never went on a chat line and I think this will help get through it. Keep me updated on your progress.

Hi Cat,

I start my injections on the 23rd Jan also. I have an appointment today to learn how to do them - will make it all seem a little more real - I'm getting excited but also a little nervous.

My EC is scheduled for the 19th Feb everything going according to plan.

All the best for the 23rd

HI,

I start Lupron on 1/19 for my first IVF/ICSI, we will be all close on our cycle. I know how you feel about the excited/nervous part of this time. I look at my meds and are alittle overwhelmed. But I know it will all work out like it is supose too. So far all of this procedure has fallen in to place from the timing to the paying of it. I hope it is a good sign. I would think if we had problems from the beginning it would be a sign not to go forward, but that is not the case. I will keep you all posted.

Hi Jenny,

I started my injections on the 19th (a little before you) and DH has same problem as yours I was also told I was "normal". I'd love to chat with you some more...this is definitely an emotional roller coaster and a mixture of happiness, fear, anxiety and any other feeling you can imagine.
We're in Miami and are hoping for retrieval Monday 1/30 and hopefully 2/2 transfer. I'm on Follistim and Ganerelix, I also began daily u/s and blood work this morning. Hope all is well with you, please write back if you can...God bless!

ixi414 - yeah it is nice to have someone to talk to, especially when they are going through the same stuff, atleast they understand. Wow your ER & ET are coming soon. I am just waiting for AF to start my stims. But I figured our ER & ET will be sometime in mid Feb. So within 1 month I will know if I have a BFP. We could be parents in a year from now.

baby dust your way. Lets keep in touch. I love having people to chat to. I feel like I get to know people, that I probably will never meet. And we all have alot in common. I know how it feels to have the rollercoster of emotions. I stay positive, but I am also scared of getting my hopes up. But it is hard not to do. And I have had my hopes crushed before and got through it. If it doesn't work then off to adoption.

Take care, Good Luck.

Hey Jenny...I went for u/s and blood again this am, the Dr said everything was perfect, he said if it continues that way, I should be ready for the hcg injection on Sunday, retrieval on Wednesday (yes next week...can you believe it?) and embies transplant 5 days later....so you're right...we'll probably be parents sometime the end of this year (I pray!!!) Lots of positive thoughts to you and DH, keep up the spirits, I'm trying so hard to do the same. We have to, stress is not good!

Love to join in...

Hello Ladies,

I was hoping to introduce myself and join in your progress and chats. I am on day 6 of my first stimulation cycle now. (Started stimulation on Jan 22nd, planned egg retrieval Feb 2nd).

I am going through my treatment in the Czech Republic (with IVFVacation) and while the treatment is excellent, it leaves far from my family and friends at an emotional time. My husband had a vasectomy 5 years ago so we have opted for IVF (with ICSI) to get us pregnant (hopefully).

I would love to make some new acquaintances that are going through the same process right now to compare notes and offer my support, too. I had my first scan yesterday and the doctor counted 10 follicles. I was a little sad at this result but a friend told me that there are usually more follicles than the doctor can see in the first scan. Any thoughts on this?

The shots have been tolerable (the thought of them was worse than the actual act) and I don't feel anything yet. I guess I should be glad for that but it makes me wonder if everything is working properly. Amazing the things we worry about, right?

Anyway, please contact me if you'd like to stay in touch. I hope you'll forgive me for joining a little late...I only just found this site (and it is great!).

All the best on your cycles!!!

Julie

Welcome Julie- It is always nice to have new people to talk to, through out this process. At least we all understand eachother, and actually mean it.

Wow looks like IXI and Julie- you will both be a head of me. I am still on Lupron, I should be getting AF this week sometime. Then I will be starting the stims. How long were you guys on stims? I guess I am getting more excited because the time is coming so fast. At least you all will be a head of me and can let me know what to expect. You know I just have a good feeling for all of us. I hope 2007 will be our best year. I was telling my husband that we could be parents a year from now. He is also excited. Gosh, I can't believe it. Well I have to run, I am at work, I will check back later. Take care, good luck to both of you this week.

Hi Jen and Ixi,

I have been on stims for 7 days so far and it looks like I have another 3 to go (but that may change at my 2nd scan appointment tomorrow). So far so good for me...I don't feel bad at all. Although, since I am doing this in the Czech Republic, my stim drugs might be different (I am on Gonal F (days 1-10) and Cetrotide (days 6-10). I am scheduled for the retrieval on Friday (gulp).

Personally, it is the 'thigh' shot that gets me. I can't explain it but it just seems really icky (it doesn't really hurt...just seems icky). But, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so they'll give me my shot instead of me doing it which is always a little easier. lol. Makes my leg itch though and leaves a lump until the liquid disseminates. ugh.

I have moment of optimism and doubt depending on the day and the hour. Of course, it is really out of my hands so I just hold on for the ride! I think this is a great time of year to be doing IVF -- the stress of the holidays is over and now we can all concentrate on having successful treatments and getting 'knocked up!'

I'll let you know how the second scan and blood panel go...sending you all happy thoughts!

Julie

Hi Everyone just thought I would stop in since our time frames are all so close. I started my meds on 1-28, retrieval on 1/31, transfer on 2/3, now it's the waiting game for blood testing.

How is everyone feeling? This is definitely an emotional roller coaster. This is my first time and will be the last no matter of the outcome. I don't think I could go through it again besides it's very costly.

Wish you all luck & would love to keep in touch with you.

Good luck
anita
