Patie: oooo, limbo is rough! I, unfortunately have no idea what to make of your beta. I am hoping by now that you have the results and that your beta was nice and high. please let us know!

yeah, pole dancing not even an option for me... but then again... you guys wouldn't know that, not having seen me naked! (i imagine, though, RE would back me up on that! heeheehee).

btw, Meg, was impressed by your use of "thong" :D . Actually growing up, we called flip-flop "thongs" also, as you might imagine... leading to some confusion as i got older

I am a big fan of the "trackie dacks" and blue stilettos for ET. It is what all the stylish IVF'ers are wearing this year *she imagines a fashion show of such*. i would also be thinkin' for ER... but seeing the stilettos may pose a problem when high on "happy juice" (... could lead to a fall... which could lead to an injury... and then a long, ugly, protracted lawsuit against the Sisterhood!).

Oh Fee--I so didn't mean to burst your bubble. I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit. From your posts I can tell you're a very strong, athletic and yes, dare I say it, sexy person. (Geez, sounds like I'm hitting on you. Sorry about that--please don't get creeped out!) If pole dancing is your new dream, then go for it!

I'm in for the model show, although my horrible lack of grace might not make me the best candidate. Once again, I think the odds are pretty high that I'd end up a heap in the middle of the stage. Sigh. All the exciting jobs just demand too much coordination!

So, anyone have anything good to rant about? It's been awhile. We can't all be happy, can we? That's so boring
I have a pregnant rant---So if you want to kick me in the head because I have the audacity to have a complaint while pregnant, please skip the rant.
I am so sick of people asking me if I'm pregnant. I'm just not ready to tell the world yet. I'm only 7 weeks (I think) and I'm just terrified that something is going to go wrong. I really want to get past the first 12 weeks before I tell anyone else (my family knows, but that's about it). Still, you would not believe how many people ask me the dreaded question. I know it's because they think they are being helpful--I think everyone in the world knows we've been trying so long--but it's not helpful. Plus, contrary to one of my previous posts about telling my husband lies, I really am a terrible liar. Horrible. So I find myself just turning bright red and kind of shrugging a little. Grrrrr. I know, it's not the worst problem in the world, but it's making me feel like a fool.

Well, thanks to those who read the rant. If you didn't, I understand. HOpe you all have or had depending on where in the world you are, a great Monday!

Meg: your rant made me smile a bit because i, too, am a horrible liar! I do the whole turning red thing, avoid eye contact, etc (i suppose, then, that undercover cop, criminal, used car salesman are just a few of other careers that i will have to add to the "no go" list along with pole dancer  ). Weird thing is, i have been wondering lately what i would do myself in that situation. there are lots of people who know we have been trying, but only a few who know dates and whom i would actually tell if beta is pos. So i have been thinking how i will lie to everyone else? I can imagine it is uncomfortable for you. You have great news... but are not interested in sharing it with them yet. I guess if you are asked "are you pregnant" you could launch into .... "am i pregnant, let me see... that is a very philosophical question..." and launch into some wacko discussion. heeheehee. Nah, in all seriousness i am sorry. IVF truly is the gift that keeps on giving (awkward moments, that is).

All right ladies, another vote.... just wondering if we want to stay where we are, or move this thread. Now don't get all freaky on me  !. But clearly, we no longer live up to the initial title of the thread (although we are still known for a good rant here and there!). Seems kind of like false advertising! But do we like being "hidden"? It definitely has its perks. Just thought i would put it out there... now that we have a name and all (ooo, just think "The Sisterhood of the Blue Stillettos" thread... kind of like having it up in lights  )... all votes welcomed...

Sassy--I'll follow you anywhere. I think starting a new thread is a good idea...so I'll vote yes to the Sisterhood of the Blue Stillettoes. The more the merrier! I was actually thinking about moving it, too. Poor IVFSwitzerland (are you still out there, by the way?) we really took over your thread and turned it into something totally different!

Hi Meg12,

Firstly congratulations on your BFP !!!!! I'm lurking in the Dec/Jan board and the weekend when you made your post about your BFP I had been having a really lousey day. After reading your post I spent the rest of the day smiling about how happy and surprised "Meg 12" would be doing a HPT and getting a positive result. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!! and thankyou for giving me a smile for the rest of the day.

We have just started our first IVF cycle this month and I am sure my DH has told the world !!!!!! The answer I have decided to use when people ask over the next few months (that is if we get a BFP) is going to be something along the lines......

We are still working on it - with a bit of luck we will have some good news sometime soon... (or something along those lines) no lies at all - as even with a BFP you are still working on it.....

Hope this helps and thanks for making my day last weekend a lot better with your suprise result.

hello everyone!

Meg, congrats on your BFP! enjoy the next 8 months.

sassy invited me here because I was ranting over in the Jan thread. she said this is a good place to rant, but is it my imagination or did i just read 2 pages about strip pole dancing and blue stilletos?.... .... AND you're talking about moving to a happy thread!

well before you go I have to gripe about DH today. He went out salvaging rock and gravel for our landscaping. we are doing it ourselves and he likes to go and pick up the stuff that that construction companies dump in vacant lots around town. which is cool, it's free and saving a buck anywhere we can is great. we have a sedan, not a truck, so he piles everything into the trunk, back seat and passenger seat. I hate this because dirt and dust gets everywhere. he did this the last time I did FET and i bi***ed about it the whole time, getting all stressed because I think the dirt is toxic. we live in the Vegas area and our soil is not that nice fertile type, it's dusty and sandy and everywhere. I know it's in our air, but i don't want to sit in an encolosed car with a layer of dust on the dash, when i'm trying to get PG! he finally cleaned it up , but it was after I got a BFN last Nov, too late for comfort (not that I blame it on that). Now that I am 3 days after ET he decides to start up again. WTF! Please someone tell me I'm over reacting and the dirt isn't that bad. :? he did tell me he was only doing it today and will clean up the car tonight. And yes he did wreck the interior a bit, scratches everywhere, i warned him about that too. Maybe I'll get a mask, then I can drive around looking like I've got SARs on the dash.

the other thing I was ranting about last week was that my step sister gave me the news that she was expecting twins. now I'm happy for her, but then she had to go and say "I can't believe how lucky I am, I got Pg the first time I ovulated! seems like everyone i know is trying and trying and can't get PG. you're trying, my friends are trying, my other friends have been trying and have talked about IVF." how rude! She had to make it sound like it was so easy for her when really she stopped BCP last May (of course after I told her DH and I we're starting IVF), didn't ovulate for months and was taking P4 to induce ovulation, finally ovulated 6 months later and got PG. oh and she says she wasn't really trying.. yeah right. I said to her, "yes you are lucky, we are $25,000 in debt for 2 cycles and each cycle is 2 months of BTs, meds, shots, getting poked and prodded while naked, your whole life is turned upside down and there is no guarantee you'll have a baby... we don't have one yet. you are really lucky". she's like "uh... yeah, well I'm sending you lot's of positive vibes". uh... ok thanks sis. Well i'm over it now, just thought I'd share an experience with people who speak without thinking.

Mia: hey welcome! Yep, despite all recent appearances... this thread started out as a ranting thread, and all rants, big and small are welcome (except personal attacks, of course...long story). In fact, i think it is healthy. We just like to have a few laughs inbetween rants (ok, maybe a lot of laughs!) ooooo, there were some classic rants in the first several pages for reference! Feel free to join us if we move... i don't expect it would be a "happy thread" as much as just a motley group of ivf'ers at all stages who believe BOTH laughter AND ranting to be the best medicine!!!!

ooooo.. i forgot about how bad your step sister thing was... forgot that she made the whole "everyone around me is trying and i just can't imagine how i fell preg" thing. Is she normally a beotch???? Or did her preg hormones suddenly turn her into an ignorant, insensitive child? I think what she said was cruel.

as for dh and the rocks... i get the whole dusty vegas crappy dirt thing. Don't know that it will hurt you, though (besides collecting in your lungs  ), but we are sensitive right now to anything that may or may not affect the receptiveness of our bodies to the embryos that we slaved to produce. Does dh get that? I am hoping that for your peace of mind, if nothing else, he gets it cleaned out tonight as promised.

AZkiwi: oooo, i like your idea for a response... with luck on my side, i may be able to use it myself in a few weeks!

hey you aussies... still sleepin?

Mia--Welcome to our rant thread! Don't be discouraged by the last few pages--we're really not usually this happy and rant free! You just caught us on an off day  And we're not moving the thread to a happier place---just an easier place for people to find us....Not that I have anything against happiness, it's just that come on, no one's happy all the time!

I can't believe your step sister said that. Man, you have better self control than me! I would have probably burst into tears. I'm famous for that. You've probably heard of me...Crazy Crying Megan? Yep, that's me.

And don't you just love men. I seriously do not get them at times. (like most of the time!) I'm sorry your DH was so inconsiderate. If I was closer, I'd smack him upside the head for you!

Good afternoon/ evening or whatever it is ladies! Yawn what a lovely sleep I've had... I wish... have been flat out with clients making unreasonable demands...(or maybe reasonable given my lack of work ethic lately have got a tad behind on the workload).

Thanks Meg, you've got me pegged I am of supermodel proportions, don't worry about hitting on me, you're only human

Impressive rant by the way. I am also a crap liar. I can only lie on the phone because the other person can't see me going red and looking shifty...Have you just tried staring at the person asking the question? I have had dealings with people who respond to my questions with a long silence and a stare, it's pretty uncomfortable and leads me to fill the awkward silence with mindless chit chat. I recommend you give the stare/silence approach a go.

Sass, I don't mind a move to another thread, I'll go with the flow! Anyone reading this one for the first time would probably be a tad surprised by the "evolving" subject matter...

Hopeful, you have arrived in ranter's paradise, haven for the unhinged. I cracked up reading about your husband's antics. I have a vision of you driving in a car full of dirt with a dust mask on. I think a tantrum is well overdue. And as for your step sister, well I think she gets the Punter Award this week for excellence in Moronism. I'm sure the rest of the Sisterhood Panel would agree on that one.

I've doubled my dose of meds today. I can feel a mood swing coming on! Fee

Patie, I'm so sorry, I missed your post while writing mine. I'm with Sass, go and get a truckload of chocolate, fudge, what ever you want...Fee

PS doesn't it suck being in the office at a time like this. I spent much of my time after BFN in the office bathroom...

Fee: whats that you say... work? whats that? I am too busy posting on the forums to work!

oooo, and i concur... barring any major dissent from the rest of The Sisterhood (aka peanut gallery), the Punter of the Week Award (for Excellence in Moronism) goes to... (drum roll, please)... Mia's step sister!

Mia: did dh clean out car? You could always go get one of those heavy-duty dust masks the workers use... maybe he would take a hint

all right, ladies, i know there are more of you out there... Rock the Vote! Polls close tomorrow night on the "moving of the thread" ballot initiative.
