Ah, teenagers! I have a 16 years old patient at 4 :30 and guess what? Third time she doesn’t show up since the beginning of her therapy and doesn’t cancel in advance! Ah, well... I get paid half the price and I can spend time here!

Nouna: hey sweetie! Please be sure to tell me how your trigger shot went... what meds are you taking for this? And about the cysts, well... actually, given that they started me on such a low dose, then doubled, then upped it 50% more, I tend to think that the dosage is more responsible for the delays than the cysts and I think Aunty would agree with me. But who knows? As for the waiting, all I can say is I’m happy you got your trigger after a couple of ultrasounds!

Druiett: OMG! BFP ALERT! Ooooooh that’s SO nice! I’m SO happy for you sweetheart! Looks like IVF is the thing for you! You must be so happy; your numbers look GREAT! Have fun celebrating the news with your DH and enjoy the pregnancy ride!

Hopeful: I’m glad you’re allowing yourself to move around! And that your mood is in positive mode, that’s great! I’m sure you’ll make it through the 2ww just fine and I’ll be there waiting with you! Nice mental picture; sure will keep the same in mind when my turn comes! Thanks for the vibes hun; sure could use some.

Personally, I keep thinking that slow production is for extra quality! Good luck on your trigger (woohoo! ), I’m so happy for you! How do you feel about EC? It’s your first time I see?

Shantala: I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you (HA but I would still think about it just like you do!) about the cheques... if they wanted special ones, like certified cheques, they would have mentioned it veeeery clearly, no doubt (when it comes to money, those guys...). And I’m sure they wouldn’t prevent you from doing your cycle right now just because you have to go back home and make a proper check for them. Ooooh I’m so excited for you! I hope you get what you want sweetie!

And about your comment to Fed about finding it somewhat difficult not to get your hopes up when you’re young... GUILTY! And I paid for it already, LOL! I, too, tended to look differently at BFNs given the person’s age, and I also worried about seeing BFPs followed by m/c in people in their twenties like me. But hey... though it’s a statistical fact that the younger you are, the better your chances to conceive (IVF or not), it’s not the ONLY factor that contributes to it. Heck, a 20 years old woman with severe endometriosis just cannot be compared to a 42 years old woman who’s been pregnant before and has a male factor. Age isn’t everything, and I say that picturing those follies in my mind (and secretly hoping I won’t give birth to a big batch of turtles!). And thanks for calling me crazy; my crazyness is actually what keeps me sane!

Fed sweetie, don’t apologize! That’s what the board is for. I TOTALLY understand what you’re going through, even if I’m not in my 2ww yet. I went to a baby shower yesterday (IVF!) and I was looking at her belly, comforting myself with the thought that IVF does work (and here’s the proof) but also wondering if I would have a baby shower this year or not... and feeling a little jealous all the same... but happy for them. It’s true that the comfort zone is hard to find between too much PMA (aka naiveness) and too much realism (aka pessimism). I think the best thing to do is give yourself the right to move a little from one side of the continuum to the other between those two extremes... I’m sure one way or the other, your beautiful son will have a nice surprise some day... and then feel veeeeery sorry for asking it once the “surprise” steals his toys!

AMD WHOA! That looks sky high, no? What did the doc say about that number? Might you be carrying twins? Aw, that’s amazing news and I’m happy it reassures you!

Okay, gotta gulp down that dinner and wait for my next patient!

I drove yet another time aaaaall the way to the drugstore to pick up more meds (they should really consider renting rooms!) and I asked the pharmacist 600 units of Puregon. He asked, "Is that all?" I said, "No, actually, throw in an extra 300 units of patience, please!" He burst out laughing and I thought I'd share that with you.

OK....I had my U/S and it revealed............

The doctor did say that my bleeding and cramping a week ago was due to a vanishing twin, but the one is healthy. I am 6 wks 2 days and we heard the heartbeat. I go back again on Feb 9th.


shantala-yes...this is my daughter. She will be 3 in March and she was an IVF (ISCI) baby. We got her on our initial try in 2003. We thank god everyday for her

oh god, i'm so tired today...didnt sleep well as i had nightmares all night (and i'm not even on any drugs yet!!! ) and coz my dh is off work at the moment with kidney stones and has been pacing up and down all night....

sassy - thanks honey...my app is at 2.45 so i guess i will be at home about 5ish....so that would be around 11am your end?? cant wait. yesterday i had a bad feeling all day that they wont let us start till march but today PMA is back and i'm hoping....

Hi everyone! I am new to this and not even sure if I am doing this right! It is sooo neat to see that there are sites like this where you can talk to other women going through the same things you are!

My husband and I just spent the entire month of January doing our first attempt with IVF. Wow!! What a journey! We were able to retrieve 19 eggs and implanted a great looking one on the 24th! Our pregnancy test is this Friday....Feb. 2nd!

I am going CRAZY, though, wondering if every little thing I do could be hurting or helping our chances. I don't know how y'all do this 2 and 3 times!!

Anyway...I pray for a good turn out for everyone going through this right now and for sanity as well!! I know I could use it!
