Well I kind of assumed it was a natural pregnancy because I got a negative blood test from the doctors at the fertility clinic and a full-on AF three days after the negative IVF blood test. It was not a light period - it was the normal heavy period that I always have, lasting up to 6 days.... I mean it could be possible they mixed-up the blood tests with me and another patient and just out of coincidence I had AF whilst pregnant too.... it is a mystery... but the thought had crossed my mind once or twice too ..LOL.
All will be revealed with the more detailed scan on Tuesday - the doc will take measurements of the head and limbs etc.. and he said he would be able to tell me EXACTLY how far I am into the pregnancy. The no. of weeks that I am pregnant at the moment is an estimate.. I am around 10 and a half.
ooo forgot to say - before I got the negatice IVF blood test, I took a HPT and that also showed as negative... Unless the HPT was wrong or defect too???? LOL LOL!!!
lol...ok, i think that would be too many coincidences and i think its definitely a natural!!! like i said, not that it matters now!! gosh, i cant wait to find out the results of your scan on tuesday.
make sure you let us know as soon as you get back!!

Bekki--I just wanted to thank you for posting your story here. I had a BFN in November after my first IVF and the doctor's staff wanted me to go on bc so I could get my cycle sped up a little (I'm usually a long cycle) and then I could jump right into FET. However, I had read your post and I decided to take a chance and give myself a chance to get pregnant. And it worked!!!!!! I had an ultrasound this morning and everything's on track. I'm somewhere aroun 6 weeks (like you, they're a little unsure since it's a natural pg).
Meg - that is amazing that the same thing happened to you - it will give loads of other women plenty of hope too.
Strangely enough, after I found out that I was pregnant naturally after an IVF BFN I contacted the doctor at the fertility clinic who was treating and asked him if IVF may have helped me to get pregnent naturally. He said, it was very very likely due to all the hormones that I had throughout my IVF and it kick-started my lazy right ovary. He said that during IVF when you have the hormone injections the ovaries have better blood circulation, more oxygen and nutrients supplied to them and therefore in the coming months following IVF the ovaries produce eggs better. So there we go! If you have one fallopian tube left like me with possibly a lazy ovary or simply just unexplained infertility - try to get pregnant straight after your disappointing IVF BFN!
Meg - fingers crossed that your pregnancy goes well - and I hope mine also continues well!

ok folks ... all is going well. Just got back from the docs.
I return to work on Thursday 01 february. I saw the hands and feet and a heartbeat - I am 4 days away from 12 weeks. So will start the second trimester soon!!! I still do not have a clear photo - the doctor tried but the baby kept hiding itself!!! Takes after its mum - I hate photos...
LOL - will still keep you all posted on the pregnancy as the weeks go by.
Well - to those who remember me - I gave birth to a baby girl on 13th August of this year! She is up until now healthy and hopefully for the future too. have not been on the site for yonks as I have been busy with the new little one. Just thought I would pass on the news. Never give up ladies - after 7 years of TTC, an ectopic (burst left tube ) and a failed IVF we got our miracle.
Congratulations Bekkie. Loved reading your posts and so glad you shared your story to give us all hope on here. What did you name your little girl?
I also got pg naturally the month after BFN with IVF but unfortunately m/c at just under 6 weeks. I'm almost 7 weeks now after my FET in Nov(and waiting with baited breath for my 1st scan). The worry never ends does it? But so good to read you had a positive outcome.
Well done, congrats again

We called her Sandra. She is a challenge right now - she never drinks out the full bottle amounts and needs 7 feedings a day (every 3 hours - it was every two at one point ). We have also been in and out of the docs as her head is a little flat on one side - so far no bad news, just a preference in the fact that she prefers her right side when lying on her back to sleep. Now we have to alternate positions etc when she sleeps. So even when the bundle of joy is finally there - the worries do not end.
I will stay on this board to offer advice and support for others who are in the same boat. I was as good as told I could not have any children - no left tube and a right ovary which very rarely ovulated. 7 years of hell has paid off. I know some stories are a little worse (more than one failed IVF etc.), but it helps in cases particularly where an ectopic is causing infertility, just to realise that hope is there.
